Caps are always drying out in power supply due to getting to hot. I did not suspect the rectifier so I have learned something new. Thank you you are doing a great job teaching.
yes you are right these fake capacitors get damage quickly. in some cases if the rectifier gets shorted, it also passes the negative spikes to the capacitors or it directly damages the IC in primary side or MOSFET by adding direct load on flyback converter
It pays to use good Nichicon, or Illinois (or similar) capacitors from a reputable source. Even if they have the name on them, they could be fakes. As you've seen, there is a LOT of junk out there. Even so, 16 volt rating is too close to 12 volts for my comfort, although it's common practice. I always learn a lot from you. Thanks and have a great day!

Nice, but every time I have the ability to use many capacitors in parallel I prefer to do so due to the much lower composite output resistance , so I believe better transient response 😉
this is due to providing the bypass, and disabling the current sense circuit which is routed the protection IC LM339. in upcoming session, in upcoming session LM339 and its related features will discussed

Yes it can possiable with more high power MOSFET .Limit is SMSP transformer's power rate and transformer's present wires diameters (of course need more big heatsink .Maybe need cooling fan too )
if we want to re-design a power supply 12V 10A to 12V 15A. don't consider the Ampere we need to keep in mind the Wattage we want tp take 180Watt from a 120watt circuit which is technically near to impossible because all the primary and secondary side components are being used to handle 120watt. although all components are calculated with some free headroom for safety aspects but when we want to convert it to for permanent operation at higher rating, it will ENDED very soon it is doable, by redesigning the transformer, changing higher mosfet, changing the current sense resistance, RCD snubber, Bulk capacitor, bridge rectifier, EMI filter, output rectifier & capacitor and the biggest issue is the PCB tracks. as the existing tracks are only for 10 Ampere, so flowing more current will lead to early damage, and to create more noise in switching

Although it will work but theortically I think replacing 5 capacitor with one capacitor will raise ESR.

Anyway all 5 bad capacitors are connected paralell(on PCB) .Only connected 4700 uf and 680 uf to any hole . Average same capacitance value
