Hi Norm and Tina , great advice as usual ! I'm retiring in 3 1/2 years and you're such a valuable source of information . I feel really fortunate to live in the Niagara Region as there's so many beautiful places to go hiking/ walking . I live in a tiny apartment but my walkout patio has been a godsend . I can garden on a small scale which brings me a lot of enjoyment . I've decluttered twice and plan on a third time . I contacted an Auction place , they'll come and give you an estimate and all you have to do is put your small things in boxes ( liquor store boxes are perfect ) . They come and pick up your things and hand you a check . You don't get what you paid for things but so worth not having to haul it away yourself . I've become very selective about what I bring home ! You're never boring , I appreciate the relaxed and respectful way you have with each other and us . ❤
Hi Ruby Thanks so much for your kind words we really appreciate it, What a great idea about the auction house, maybe we should be looking at that too. The Niagara region is very pretty, Thanks for watching and have a nice Sunday. 💕
We used the Auction house when my parents downsized as well, and loved that individuals who bought their items came & carried away their surplus items. Freeing us from having to have lawn sales or getting a storage unit. What a relief, all around.
I know what you mean Wendy. No one expects 'us' oldies to be on UA-cam sharing. My grandkids said I was 'cool' when I started in 2018. Like Norm said, keep your mind active. They are great aren't they ( Norm and Teen 💖)? 🇳🇱 🙋♀️ 🇳🇿
We cut the cable and put in a digital antenna. Bought a roku box, tons of free movies. Changed the home phone for a VoIP $10 a month. Use a wifi mobile number for $35 a year (worldwide text and talk) and a $12 a month cell phone pay-as you-go for emergencies where there is no wifi. Not yet retired and working on investments so hopefully I’ll be ready.
Sounds like a wonderful plan is in place , just remember with what we know now you don’t need as much as you think to retire , but you can’t buy time so if you can just do it Cheers 🍷🌺🍺
Side hustles are a GREAT idea... but UA-cam is not the easiest or the most profitable. Not the one I would recommend for most people. Most people will not be highly successful like you two cuties 😉.
Hello Tina and Norm, 35 years ago, I am 61 years old, my parents retired early to a retirement community in Florida near the gulf, and I fell in love ❤ with it. I told anyone who would listen that I was going to retire there. It’s been my goal ever since. I discovered your channel about six months ago around December of 2022, and I gobble up all your content. I enjoy them so. They are encouraging me to keep my eyes on the prize of retirement. I really don’t like my job but it pays ok and has a pension benefit so I can’t realistically change. It wouldn’t be financially smart. The tips on this video are all spot on. Keep making content for us viewers! Sincere thanks, Elizabeth (Seal)
getting rid of the second car has been a huge savings for us and not an inconvenience at all. Only had a rent a car for one day in the past 3 + years at a cost of $40.00.
I've just sold all my cars except my camper. Totally loviing the public transport! About to become free public transport, in Adelaide, South Australia. Just getting camper fixed, theory to travel. But having local and extended freedom is marvellous!
Good advice ... I've been doing the same things during my 4 years of retirement (which started at 55!!). And, like you, I decluttered, starting a year before I retired, but still have too much. My emergency fund is 1 full year of expenses rather than 3 months and live directly off of my monthly dividends. By moving out of Toronto, my vehicle insurance is now 40% and home insurance 20% less than what I used to pay. Cheers, Steve
Thank you Stephen you are doing a lot of things to ensure a good retirement, congratulations. These small savings can make a big difference over time. We live on our Government pensions, CPP and OAS. If you can govern your income to a lower amount GIS is available as Canada does not means test for it. Ethical or not that’s a personal decision but we do pay a lot of taxes in Canada.
Thank you, I am terrified of the next chapter of the journey of our lives. We worked hard, raised two children, paid the mortgage off in 13 years, and bought a rental property. Quit my job 5 years ago and started working for myself. I never took paycheque, any money we needed came from rrsp or life insurance policy. Now I'm almost 65. I want to sell house and move into the rental property we own, buy a trailer park in northern Ontario, and winter in Belize or Portugal or both. I have subscribed and liked, and I watch Ads all the way through. Keep up the videos, they give me the confidence that I need. Ty Bill
Sometimes the fear is worse than actually doing it , you sound like you have a great plan it’s all possible take one step at a time . Thanks for watching have a great weekend Cheers 🍷🌺🍺
Hello from San Francisco! I’m age 55 and planning for my retirement. I’m so glad I fell upon your great channel. You provide great experiences, insights and tips. You’ve given me knew things to think about and consider. And you’re both so sweet!
You are both so charming and calming. Most of your tips confirm what we are already doing, but we did not think of Wills and Passwords. Great tips! Thank you!
Hi guys! Recently discovered you! A fellow Canuck here (originally from N. Ireland) You’ve been great help! I retired 7 yrs ago. I’m in London Ont. and have remained here as it has the most of our family members in one spot. I’ve already done many, many of the same things that you two have applied and recommended. Your “core idea” of renting I will soon apply to a move to BC’s beautiful Okanagan Valley. We will combine assets with a daughter and son-in-law currently in Vancouver. This “new world” will allow our daughter, a BC Hydro Exec. to work from home. Eventually a 1/2 acre property with a coach house or granny cottage for us old folks will be purchased. We can shop above our “weight class”! Cheers
Sounds like a wonderful idea and a lovely area to go to , we drove through some of it on our RV relocation trip from Toronto to Vancouver two years ago it was amazing. We wish you well with your plans have a great weekend Cheers 🍷🌺🍺
Really solid advice and being a retired person myself I have already done many of the things you've recommended. I do invest, we actually went down to one car immediately and we both have interests that keep us busy. We really aren't within walking distance of shops, restaurants and such but we do go for walks daily around the neighborhood. Still since retiring we put less than 7000 miles a year on our car and have an insurance plan that reflects that.
You really are doing all the right things, it's good to know we are not the only ones. We have only driven 9,000 Km in 18 months. Thanks for supporting us and enjoy your weekend.
Hi again !! - sitting here nodding in agreement ESPECIALLY when you said declutter!! Oh boy, we did a huge move from Alaska to Missouri 15 years ago, we held garage sales for a few weekends, sold loads of stuff (as you do lol) and by the time we left we were quite proud of ourselves. We hired a company to bring the stuff we “needed” which took a month and we realized we didn’t need that either, in fact we didn’t open several boxes for weeks !! So yes I could not agree more - when you think you’ve decluttered enough, do it again !! Thanks you two again for cheering up a dull day and your common sense. Ps- may be moving back to Alaska in next few years - miss it terribly and these horrendous humid Midwest summers are AWFUL!!
Yes it’s funny you think you’ve decluttered until you move it all then realize you didn’t 🧐 we wouldn’t be good in hot 🥵 humid either so can understand going back to Alaska which is lovely, have a great weekend Cheers 🌺🇺🇸🍷🍺
You’re great, not a bit of boring. I too am retired about 6 years now and find your tips spot on. My biggest mistake so far was putting excess household furniture, etc. in storage when we moved and downsized. Thousands of dollars later we’re still trying to get rid of the stuff we will never use.
your videos are FAR from boring; they are wonderful; my wife and I thoroughly enjoy your laid back approach and tips and tricks; I've passed along your channel to others who are also thoroughly enjoying.
I pretty well follow your tips now. I'm 58 and about two years from calling it quits. My TFSA is maxed out with passive income ETF's and a good REIT. I have a provincial government pension and RRSP. I live in PEI and have been mortgage free since 1999. I have a small beautiful log home on the North Shore and heat with wood and I'm partially off grid. Two greenhouses and fifteen raised beds. I drive a 2008 Rav4 and work from home. I got rid of the Satellite TV in 2006 and have and HD Antenna for my three channels, CBC, CTV and Global. Amazon Prime rounds out my entertainment, as well as many books. I walk about 8k a day. They just put FibreOp out here in January and like you, I went with the lowest speed package (100 meg). I pressure can much of my food for winter and store root crops in my back cold room. Life is good. Great video and I'm a new subscriber
Hi Brent, Thanks for subscribing we do appreciate it. You really have it sorted out and sounds wonderful what you have achieved. We find that we mostly spend money on experiences and not so much possessions. Travel for us has been important as we had forgone that while we had a family. We wish you the best retirement. Thanks for watching and leaving a great comment.
@@yvonneb-t3d It took a long time to get here, so I'm enjoying the journey as well as the destination. On my walk last week I found a bic lighter on the road, some birch bark in my lane so that's how the morning fire started in the woodstove
Hi guys my wife and I have been watching your videos for a while mostly good tips. In regards to selling the second car we keep two cars but only insure one at a time. With a salted roads Canada we have a winter and a summer vehicle. As I do all of my own maintenance on the vehicles and have a lift in my garage it’s a hobby And a benefit. My wife and I planed for our retirement five years ago we replaced the roof the furnace the air-conditioning remodelled the bathrooms and the downstairs of our home. As our property taxes around $500 and utilities around $250 it’s cheaper for us to remain in our home then sell. We agree when you say locate close to your grocery store liquor store beer store restaurants coffee shops and theatres including a library and a number of medical facilities along with 23 KLM of walking trails all within a one block walking distance of our home. It’s really important as you move into your 60s but you don’t rely on working to your 70s employers really don’t like employees over 65 in their teams. We developed passive income in pensions from employment both in the US and Canada. Your message is really important for people in their 40s and 50s . You can remain in your own home if you control the property tax and you’re spending. Thanks for the tips Rod and Cindy.
Thank you both for sharing your retirement experiences it is so practical and helpful. I like that you both share the same goal for traveling and use your funds to actualise the passion. Your Chanel is such a differentiation from the rest that you are so positive because you have planned for retirement and still derive passive income from stocks n shares.👍👍👍
VERY INFORMATIVE , not boring at all , I'm turning 57 this Nov. Any words of wisdom are very appreciated . THANK YOU BOTH and Tina since You tube was your idea - GOOD JOB GIRL I'm watching it again.
Wow, thank you! We never know what’s popular until we post a video, but we just like sharing what we have learned. We appreciate your kind words, it’s very encouraging to us both, thank you.
Just discovered your channel. As someone who is nervous about retiring, your wide-ranging and practical advice makes me the idea of retiring seem less daunting. Thank you.
It is a big step but the reality maybe in six months you wondered why you were apprehensive. Good luck with your decision. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great tips. We are getting ready to retire, trying to sell a small business which is all we have except for social security. Some of these I am doing...have never fully trusted the stock market so only keep about half there. Got rid of 1 car. Still have our van & the truck (which we need to pull the 5th wheel camper). Tried to declutter & made some progress but I can see I need to do lots more. Love your videos, common sense stuff and you 2 are so down to earth, I'd love to have you over for supper 😉 Keep doing these - they are helpful & relaxing!
Thanks so much for your kind words, they really motivate us to keep making videos. It sounds like you are going to have a great retirement with all your preparations and awareness. Have a nice weekend.
I wish I'd seen this 5 years ago when I retired, all good stuff and not boring at all! A few times there I felt you two were talking directly to me... (Norm's right about that fridge only being 20 feet away!) 😉 Anyway, I just wanted to say hello, I'm a big fan of "The Norm & Tina Show", love you guys 💕🙂👍
Hi Douglas we are very glad you like our channel and we appreciate your support yes staying home and the fridge are dangerous LOL 😂😂have a great weekend Cheers 🍷🌺🍺
I love your channel. Thanks for all you do! I appreciate all of your insights and fun approach. Retirement is amazing and I am grateful to be healthy enough to enjoying it!
You are such a beautiful couple, and always share great experiences and show how retirement can be amazing to keep your minds going and live life to the fullest! It’s very nice to have for your family and grandchildren must be very proud. You both look so young and happy! much love and good health always! xoxo
Thank you! Turning 53 next week and we are full-on into retirement planning. We are having a financial planner go over our numbers to validate what we think we know and helping us confirm how soon we will be able to retire. We will be adding the tips you shared to our bag of savings in the hope of spending those few extra dollars on travel :)
Hi Tina and Norm, I have been following your videos for a year or so and love them. We live so much like you. We retired at age 58 here in Michigan. My husband has been retired for 27 days! Like you, we have let go of items by selling or giving away or giving things to our three kids or to friends. All of our kids are married or about to be and have their own homes all within 30-45 min away. There are no grandchildren yet. During COVID I sold over $3,000 of stuff by FB marketplace. We cut cable 10 yrs ago and use rabbit ears and Netflix only. We do have internet service and older iPhones. Now we are reconsidering what to do about replacing them? Like you, we have travelled to many parts of the world for about 10 yrs. COVID shut that down, but we still go by van all over in our beautiful state of Michigan and the Midwest. We have some free air flights available to us and several companion tickets we can use in the next year, and only wish we could find a rental car when we arrived! Any thoughts on this? We are very easy going and love to pack up and go.
Sounds like a great retirement, when we go to Portugal 🇵🇹 we have no problem getting a rental car 🚗, but we have been hearing that because of Covid the rental companies have been selling cars off hence they have a lot less and they are charging way more than normal . Our plan when the border opens is to drive our car and explore is that an option for you , we don’t see ourselves flying any time soon . Hope you have a great weekend Cheers 🌺🇺🇸🍺🇨🇦
I'm still 10 years away from retirement but I love watching this. I feel like it will help me to be more ready when the time comes and it's also just entertaining to watch.
cell phones - go to a low cost carrier either "public mobile" or "lucky mobile". Paying less than $50 cad/month, still have some data and no change to texting or calling. I have been with public mobile for over a year and no issues. Son has been with lucky mobile and has had am ongoing call display issue.
Thanks for the tips , we just recently got a pay as you go card for $35 to activate our cellphone just for emergencies when up at the trailer. Most of the time we use our phone and IPads on MagicJack as we usually have Internet hope you have a great day and TFW Cheers 🍷🌺🍺
The de clutter is bigger than most people realize, we now suggest in our videos to start 5 years before retirement at least, we still haven’t finished. Thanks for watching have a nice weekend.
Hello Tina & Norm Good to see that you are doing fine and that your channel is doing great also … almost 30k soon 🤪👍 Retirement subjects are quite popular! It was nice seeing you guys again 👩❤️👨 Have a great day H&S 👩❤️👨🌈🇨🇦
@@ThisIsOurRetirement We are fine and actually on a small vacation trip (6 days ) in Rivière Ouelle near Kamouraska Québec with our camping trailer.Heading home tomorrow. I also have been retired since 6 years now and Hélène 10 . Cheers 🥂👩❤️👨
Yes, reduce food volume and also increase food quality -- more whole foods : fresh fruits and vegetables (Blue Zones), eliminate processed foods, eat within meals periods (intermittent fasting) , reduce eliminate snacking, move all parts of the body - not only muscles, also ligaments, tendons, veins, arteries, yoga chi gong exercises internal organs - Indians and Chinese and Japanese say we do not die from muscle failure but from internal organ failure. Glad you are enjoying Canada!
Should have listened to my own advice 100% as I just returned from having a heart attack -- 99-100 % blockage in the main heart artery requiring 2 stents. If I Have a cheat day for food it will be just for a taste on holidays -- I was was giving myself too many excuses previously, plus stress was a contributing factor which impacted my intake of food in addition to it's toll on the body. The excellent staff at the local hospital in Fergus and the cardiac unit at St Mary's in Kitchener literally saved my life. The doctor told me there are two types of patients, those that drive themselves to Emergency and those that don't, fortunately my route was on slow enough streets in a small town that made it less dangerous
@@rfkyt Wow sorry to hear that but glad you are now OK and here to tell your story . Glad our wonderful local hospitals 🏥 looked after you , so you now really need to follow your own advice . Take care and thanks for watching we appreciate your support Cheers 🍺🌺🍷
You guys are awesome! I’m not anywhere near retirement yet, but I definitely appreciate all of your tips. I wished my Mom had seen this 10 years ago! She’s not so lucky.
Thanks for your videos. I really like them. I got diagnosed with cancer in the highway of life. The prognosis ist very good in my case, but all of a sudden I am confronted with the idea of retirement much sooner than expected. Your talks are enjoyable and insightful. Warm regards fromm Vienna, Europe
We are sorry to hear about you illness, Norm is a cancer survivor of 15 years and like you decided to retire early and do as much as possible, it brings life into focus. Sensing you our best wishes.
Hello Tina and Norm. I'm 55 and starting to think about retirement planning. You're video tips are thought provoking and great conversation starters. Thank you for being so open and honest about your experiences. I am also a UK expat. I now live in Oz with hubby and older kids. Since Covid I have started getting homesick. Miss family and friends more. Do you ever get homesick for Blighty ?
Hi Michelle, Thanks for watching our video, it’s strange the homesick thing, we think human nature is always looking at what we don’t have. Being in Australia and us in Canada would have a lot of Brits thinking we have hit the jackpot in terms of lifestyle and weather. Having said that we do feel sometimes as if we don’t fully belong in Canada, we missed out on growing up here and being knowledgeable about popular culture like old T.V. shows, how things were in the sixties etc. We do like our British food items that you can only get there and being in Britain we have that inbuilt knowing how things are done. Being in the UK is like wearing old comfortable slippers as opposed to Canada where the shoes fit a bit tight lol. We don’t have any family left in the UK, having said that we have just applied to renew our expired UK passports and plan on maybe living there a few months each year and using it as a base to travel to Europe quickly and cheaply. Take care.
Norm and Tina, just love your videos. Your suggestions are sensible and helpful. Just wanted to share that an annual new year tradition for my husband and I is the “fireside chat” about what, if any, costs can we reduce or eliminate. In the run-up to retirement, over the past 8 years or so I’ve been keeping an excel spreadsheet of all our income and expenses … it sounds tedious but only takes a few minutes each week and it’s been really, really helpful in terms of planning. You can easily see where the money goes for home ownership/maintenance costs, vehicle, insurance, groceries, gifts etc. It has also helped our financial planner as we are working with concrete numbers. I’m retired now (just > a year) and hubby has a couple more years to work. I’ve continued with the spreadsheet and it’s a great tool which we’re now using for our analysis about next steps when we’re into full on retirement. Planning can be fun!!
Planning is the key, so you minimize surprises of the bad sort! Your New Year fire side chats sound like a great idea that we could adopt. We are so glad you watched our video and left a nice comment. Have a great weekend.
You are so welcome! hope you are having fun in your new chapter of your life keep watching us we have lots of ideas of what we have done and planning to do we have just bought a trailer as can’t do International travel 🌍 have a great week 🌺🙂
Great work. You've just came onto my radar so I'm going through your previous work. Sound advice ! some of it I've never even thought about but food for thought (small portion though) ! Thanks for sharing
Hi Norm and Tina. Another great video! Thanks for sharing your ideas and thoughts on Retirement today. These are great tips since you have lived it already and can look back in retrospect. Minimalism is the way 2 go. Less stuff!!!! Cheers!
Best of luck! you will find 18 months goes by really fast with all this Covid Pandemic we are really glad we took early retirement I (Tina ) was 58 Norm was 60 go for it Cheers 🌺🍺🙂
Your videos are not boring N& T. They are some of the best comedy on the tube. Some good tips too, although I don’t always agree, but generally they confirm what we have done since retiring 4 years ago. Must remember eat less! Seeya
It's Sunday morning, my fluffy coffee is at the ready and I am informed and entertained by you both. A lovely way to start my day. Tonight I will be watching Brit Girls Go State Side on UA-cam to close a perfect Sunday of entertainment and fun. As I have reacted before on the retirement process I won't repeat myself, but all those tips are awesome. For some on the threshold of retirement- if it feels scary now, once working through the process you won't have time to feel insecure! That the unknown is the scary bit I do understand. We don't only spend more time together, we also spend time doing our own thing. When one still works and is away from home a lot, being together is essential. Once together all the time, it is important to give the other their own space. My husband has just last week had 12 days away with his tent and wee camper cooker. Both of us had a great few days. I have also met the challenge of a UA-cam channel and hope in this way to leave a visual momento of my stay on this planet not only for those I love but anyone wanting to see what I get up to, travels, recipes and the like. So onward and upward to retirement I say. Enjoy, be safe and meet the challenges head on. 🙏 🍾 🥂 🥳 🇳🇱 🙋♀️ 🇳🇿 Thanks Teen and Norm!
Yes we think we have a lot in common , when we first moved here I would go for coffee with other residents twice a week and go swimming 🏊♀️ every day on my own I felt that was so relaxing waiting for that to open up in Stage 3 . Being able to view retirement as a new and exciting chapter in your life helps welcome the challenges ahead. We are back off to our trailer tomorrow and ready to explore all new places around there life is good take care and thanks as always for watching Cheers 🍷🌺😎🤗
@@ThisIsOurRetirement I know what you mean. A new start and trying out new things. It takes time and effort but in a nice sort of way. We too are able to undertake more now so that's another new beginning I suppose. Oh I look forward to seeing more of your trailer area and the adventures there. Happy travels and you too (two) take care. 🙏 🥳 🇳🇱 🙋♀️ 🇳🇿
Hi Norm & Tina, it is an honor to watch you both and to garner very valuable information regarding retirement life. One Question regarding your travels abroad - Have you ever stayed in an All Inclusive Resort? If yes, which one? And did you enjoy your time in one? If you haven't yet, perhaps this would be a good excuse to try one and share with us all! I hear there are plenty of Iberostar's around.... Blessing to you both, good health and continued good fortunes! Steven & Rebecca. (Rebby)
Hello Steve & Rebby, Yes we have stayed in all inclusive resorts in the past, RIU group we liked a lot, Sandles, Holiday Inn Jamaica, and a few we have forgotten the names. Thanks for your question.
Hey Tina and Norm! Wow you guys look so cute today! Like ready for a hot date night! Every day is a happy hour. LOL.. We agree happy days for sure. Congrats to being retired 6 years now. That's amazing! Cool to hear the tips you have learned being retired. Totally makes sense on having only one car when retired. Cars are crazy expensive even if you own them outright. For my Mustang it's $1700 a year to insure and I drive less than 5k miles a year. All because we live in LA it's so much money. Good tip on reducing internet speed and get rid of cable. We only have internet an no cable like you said it's a real waste of money. My dad pays $220 a month for cable. Crazy expensive to watch tv now days. Eating less makes sense to keep trim in retirement and stay healthy. Great video and love you guys to the moon and have a great Sunday! 🌛💖🌛
Hi Bears and Butters ☕️wow that’s a lot for car 🚗 insurance, and during this stay at home for the last 18 months we have hardly driven anywhere . Although we have received two cheques back in discount from our broker and next year going down another 10 % which will be nice . Our weather is 🥵 hot and humid with lots of rain and thunderstorms which is a shame as it’s a big vacation week in 🇨🇦 Canada. Hope you are both well have an awesome Sunday we are off to the trailer again tomorrow Cheers 🍷🇺🇸🍺🇨🇦🤗
Great tips! One thing worth noting is that while it is good to watch what and how much to eat, it is also important to have adequate amount of daily protein intake. It helps to maintain muscle. If that one hour exercise includes some weight bearing ones it would even be better.
I love your channel it is so informative. I am going to recommend your channel to some friends who are approaching retirement. Keep making more videos we are learning a lot from both of you and we love it.
Thank you for your lovely videos. They make my day. Of all of my UA-cam channels - I think I'd like to share a drink with you two the most. You seem like wonderful people. I will be retiring soon and will use your videos as guides to Portugal and other countries I plan on visiting. Thanks again.
Thanks Tina and Norm! We both have retired at age 55 since 2010 and have not looked back! Travelled everywhere thought out the world and now plan on going to Zihuatanejo Mexico March 2022. Portugal is always at the back of our minds, just wondering why you guys haven't travelled to the UK ? We've been to North Yorkshire to visit friends and loved it! Cheers to you both!
We have been to the UK 🇬🇧 just haven’t filmed it , we love Portugal 🇵🇹 have been there about 6 times , done many cruises 🚢 and seen lots of great places have a lovely weekend Cheers 🍺🍷🌺
Totally enjoy your videos. I've been retired for 9 months now. Love it. I've decluttered, but have more to do. I've lost weight and feel healthy and fit. Great advice. Deciding to move to another town/city is a huge decision. I live in the far north and would love a shorter winter, but I'm afraid I would regret leaving.
We had lived in our home for 20 years , when we took early retirement and moved to a new place 6 hours away it was all so exciting and new it became the place we know that we have only known in retirement, no regrets at all in fact never have looked back only forward at our new adventures, we wish you well sounds like you already had a great start Cheers 🍷🍺🌺
We need to get into the decluttering again. We downsized a lot but we still have a lot to go. Thanks for the ideas. We have IRA and other tax delayed or tax free accounts here in the US where we can hold money until retirement. 😁💖
Great Advice! The key is to spend less obviously! Health is most important! Eat right, eat less and get your exercise and sleep! My advice is to use your talents to earn money in retirement…. If it’s fun for you!
@@ThisIsOurRetirement yes!!!! We just got to the beach in East Hampton, NY. We have been out on Nantucket and Boston, we have learned to work from everywhere and anywhere we want as we road trip around the country (US)
We are a new subscriber to your channel, and we always give the thumbs up because we enjoy your video. You two are the dynamic duo for sure and thanks for the retirement tips. We will retire in 18 months and are looking forward to it. Hopefully travelling will be back to new normal by then. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
Great content. Most of you tube channels are for younger folks so I really appreciate you starting a channel that we can relate too. Thanks for covering everything from travel, lifestyle changes, finances, health and so much more.
Hi guys I enjoy your channel. I am in my 70s moved to Arizona from Oregon in 2006 a lot warmer here. I recommend having a dog or another animal when retired. That's a cute comment about being you tube stars!!!😁 💖👏👏

We find it makes sense for us and we are glad it is working for you.
I've just sold all my cars except my camper. Totally loviing the public transport! About to become free public transport, in Adelaide, South Australia.
Just getting camper fixed, theory to travel.
But having local and extended freedom is marvellous!
@@newlife8318 Sounds like a wonderful plan we wish you all the best Cheers 🇦🇺 🍷🍺🇨🇦
You remind me of us, just love your practical, informative and fun videos!
Wow, thank you!

Great advice. Thank you for sharing. This has been very helpful for my early retirement

Hi guys! Recently discovered you! A fellow Canuck here (originally from N. Ireland)
You’ve been great help!
The Shuswap is beautiful!
Your videos are not boring! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences.
Glad you like them!
Yes that is a big problem holding onto stuff, we did that not furniture but smaller stuff still going through it. Thanks for watching.
your videos are FAR from boring; they are wonderful; my wife and I thoroughly enjoy your laid back approach and tips and tricks; I've passed along your channel to others who are also thoroughly enjoying.

Your setting sound idyllic, cheers from a fellow Maritimer.

Great tips! One thing worth noting is that while it is good to watch what and how much to eat, it is also important to have adequate amount of daily protein intake. It helps to maintain muscle. If that one hour exercise includes some weight bearing ones it would even be better.
Thanks Ian it’s kind of finding what fits for you Cheers 🍷🌺🍺
I love your channel it is so informative. I am going to recommend your channel to some friends who are approaching retirement. Keep making more videos we are learning a lot from both of you and we love it.

Thank you for your lovely videos. They make my day. Of all of my UA-cam channels - I think I'd like to share a drink with you two the most. You seem like wonderful people. I will be retiring soon and will use your videos as guides to Portugal and other countries I plan on visiting. Thanks again.
Thank you for your kind words we really appreciate your support.

Great information and wise words of advice. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! have an awesome day Cheers 🍺🍷🌺
We need to get into the decluttering again. We downsized a lot but we still have a lot to go. Thanks for the ideas. We have IRA and other tax delayed or tax free accounts here in the US where we can hold money until retirement. 😁💖
You can do it , it just takes time and will power to get rid of stuff , sounds like you have good tax free accounts too Cheers 🍺🇺🇸🍷🇨🇦
Thanks for the chat! You guys crack me up!!! 22 days left to retirement!!!! What SHALL I do?!?! Whooop peeeee!!!
Hopefully cracking you up in a good way. Happy retirement, enjoy it you’ve earned it 😂😂
@@ThisIsOurRetirement Of course. You two are lovely. Good way indeed.
Great Advice! The key is to spend less obviously! Health is most important! Eat right, eat less and get your exercise and sleep! My advice is to use your talents to earn money in retirement…. If it’s fun for you!
Thanks for a nice comment doing new things keeps you mind active too hope you have a great week 🍷🌺🍺
@@ThisIsOurRetirement yes!!!! We just got to the beach in East Hampton, NY. We have been out on Nantucket and Boston, we have learned to work from everywhere and anywhere we want as we road trip around the country (US)

Hi guys I enjoy your channel. I am in my 70s moved to Arizona from Oregon in 2006 a lot warmer here. I recommend having a dog or another animal when retired. He keeps me busy and active otherwise I would sit too much. I have been to the UK several times really enjoyed it there, all but the weather. BYE BYE keep going........
