Thx so much for showing us a bit of "Villa". My long deseased darling husband spent a year here in the late 1960's and he fell in love with it and spoke of it often. He was special forces Navy. After a year he was given orders to go to the hell of Vietnam. This brings back memories of so many wonderful conversations. Thx again and safe travels. Peace and love.
Kristina - Your videography of the French Riviera was a delightful kaleidoscope of color and old-world charm. And your narrative is on point as always. Can't wait until the next one!
Thanks for the video from Nice and Éze and this one from Villefranche Sur Mer. The view from the old castle on Mont Boron is the best over the bay. I have more tips for hidden villages that are real gems around the area. I often take my car or bike to Villefranche for lunch on my fauvorite little restaurant on the square. I live in Nice during the winter since 2019 and the town has so much more to offer than just being a tourist spot. If you come back to visit, do not miss Roquebrune just above Monaco and also a couple of small villages above Menton, Gorbio and Saint Jeannet. Further up from the well known tourist trap of Saint Paul de Vence you will find Tourettes Sur Loup and Gourdon perched up on a cliff with a view to die for over the whole eastern Riviera. I still find new hidden gems as I get to know people down there. The French riviera is my place to be in Europe in the winter. Mild weather, few tourists, excellent food and culture and beautiful architecture. Expensive, yes, but as long as I can afford it, I will stay....
Ahoy mates! Well you have done it again another place I have to visit. What wonderful bakeries. The town really is beautiful and looks like a postcard setting. Thanks for taking me along! Peace.
I can’t believe I missed you guys! I own a boat in Saint Jean Cap-Ferrat which is on the peninsula you walked through to get to villefranche! Glad you guys enjoyed it! One of my favourite spots in the world
Your beautiful French adventures have captured all the grooviness of the sailing world and the traveling, vacation world. Your videos have made me smile and laugh every week. You guys are the best.
I’ve just enjoyed watching this. What surprised me the most was how normal you both are. Cleaning, pastries, getting to bed early. Surrounded by such beauty and luxury it would be easy to distance yourself from ‘normal’ 9 to 5 office workers, but what I liked about your video is how you present yourselves as being just as ‘normal’ as the rest of us all but with the fortune of a lovely boat and location . Keep up the good work
Oh what a beautiful observation. And it’s so true, we are so very normal, picking a few figs along the way haha 😝 It’s funny because John didn’t realise I was filming the toilet scene 😂❤️🥰 I call it - sneaky cam! 📸🎥🤓
Hi there Jonathan! Hope you've had a great couple of weeks! They are to die for.. hahaha.. honestly.. hiking here is a must if you want to eat your way through France! 🤣
OMG 😱, Kristina, John, and Kelly 🎉🎉🎉 what a fun and fast moving episode. Totally love the area you are in for this. Beautiful. History. Time warp. Just fabulous 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 See you next time. ✨🌊💨⛵️🏝️👙🌞🥐✨
Thanks Joe!! Yeh, amazing right.. and the Rolling Stones - just wild! Actually they ended up getting to trouble with the law in France for trafficking would you believe.. you should read up on it!!
Ohhh stoppppp 😭😌🥰 I’m honestly so grateful. You have no idea what this means to me TK! Thank you so much, my dream is to share our adventures and inspire as many people as possible! Your ‘like’ and support means the world 🥹 x
I'm really loving this season so beautiful! My grandmother was a patissier, so all these patisserie / boulangerie your showing are getting me all nostalgie 🥰. Looking foward to European awesomeness.
Awww! Incredible Simon. Gosh, to have that gene in your blood is a gift. 😍 Thanks for your support always, can’t wait to head to Cannes next in this series 👏🏽👏🏽 Not long until a new and our next adventure! Wowwwie!
Villefranche-sur-mere is indeed a wonderful place. Changed a bit since the late '90's though and not that much. Strange, but loved it back then and seeing this I need to get back there in the near future. We also stayed a bit further on your route in Agay. That's also a small bay near Saint-Raphael. Went there a few times and it's also great. Pretty locations. Frejus Is also amazing.
I've been lucky enough to drive that entire coastal stretch of France from Genoa, Italy all the way to Barcelona. It truly is spectacular. Well done. Safe travels.
Fantastic episode as usual. You would be amazed how many people travel with their stomach's or is that just us 😂😂 You keep upping the game each episode also nice fun facts about aviation from John
Oh they’d be delicious there too no doubt! The fruit and vege is just so fresh in Europe, and pretty well prices… It’s a lot of cake (and endorphins) for 4.90€ 🫢🤩 the hike was much needed after this indulgence haha
Fun fact Robert Deniro starred in the movie Ronin which was filmed there. Tina Turner villa is there on top of the hill. By far my favorite beach because of water clarity, temp, and the pebbles are not that bad. Cap ferrat was pretty nice too.
Yes…. The video is lovely, but the part about it being a “secret locals-only spot” is not very true anymore. I was just there for two weeks. It’s super saturated with tourists (many Americans), and as you mentioned, it’s a HUGE cruise hub because of the deep bay there.
Most of the people I speak to have never heard of it, and we were there in July and it was not crowded at all.. you can see in all our shots, the streets were dead! Perhaps it feels different when a cruise ship shows up? I know that’s how it feels in Santorini… it’s busy at lunch, but come 4-5pm it’s super quiet!!
Great video! I even noticed in the first scene, you had your voice coming out of the left channel and John out of the right. Assuming, of course, Kristina does all the editing…lol
Villefranche really is a beauty! I can recommend going out to Cap Ferrat on the peninsula between Bealieu-sur-Mer and Villefranche-sur-Mer. Supernice village and awesome beaches in the bays. Hope you like Antibes! It's pronounced "Antib". The "es" is silent. :)
Hahaha 🤣 I know… it’s not ideal! But it tasted delicious for a boat life job 😂👏🏽🔥 What’s your recommendations! Would love to know the secret Thomas 🤩 We have some friends who meet regularly with their entire family and do a big cook making sauce from scratch! Pretty special!

Another great episode & that bakery looked amazing. I have a question for John. With John's intermittent work schedule, & refreshing skills. I gather does a lot of flying in the right seat, But does John ever fly left seat?
My wife and I are staying in Nice 1st week in September and have already planned to visit Menton, Monaco, Eze and Villefrench sur mer...... I sooooo love french bakery goodies. I liked the video but it was a bit confusing. You only mentioned Villefranche-sur-Mer throughout the video, even in the beginning. It appears that you docked in Beaulieu-sur-mer and that the initial walk, pastry shop are all in Beaulieu-sur-mer. Only in the text above is Beaulieu-sur-mer.
