  • buying a one owner John Deere 210C backhoe. using it, fixing and servicing it. I bought it from the original owner from 1988. I have the original title that has the john deere logo on it aswell. Pretty neat to buy something from the original owner! Its a solid machine, in pretty good shape for the age and only 2500 hours

      I throughly checked the machine out, unfortunately a lot of stuff is difficult to film and sometimes boring for people to watch. I try my best to keep the videos at a pace that is still entertaining to watch yet still shows a lot of the import stuff. I’m glad you enjoyed the video!

    Thanks for the video; nicely done. I've had my 210C for a few years now and although mine has quite a bit more wear, has served me well. I also changed out the exterior lights for LEDs. It's been a solid machine used for landscaping tasks (digging out small trees, ditches and moving rock, dirt, mulch). More recently, I picked up a pallet fork and welded on the 2" bar hooks. It's not the best fork-lift nor excavator nor loader nor grader but if you have one machine it'll do. It's been a solid machine until this winter. The starter motor no longer has enough power to turn it over. It'll engage and I can see the radiator fan move a couple blades width. Then it whines a little, the wires get warm and that's it. I'm working now to get the starter motor out; the bolts are difficult to reach. If anyone out there has any tips/tricks on this topic, I'd appreciate suggestions. I'm not a pro and really appreciate all these you-tubers taking their valuable time to produce quality video.

      Hey yea the 210 is a handy little machine! I wish I had more use for it but unfortunately it sits around a lot because I have machines that are better certain tasks.
      Sucks to hear about your starter motor. I fortunately haven’t had to work on this machine a whole lot. But next time I’m out by the machine I’ll take a peek and see if I can give any advice! Thanks for watching!

    Got a 210c just like this. It’s the same year but yours is a little nicer. Mine has 8100 hours on it and all the windows are broke out and she’s pretty sloppy. But she still starts right up and does what I ask of it. I love seeing one in nice shape knowing what mine could have looked like but oh well. Congratulations on it hope it’s as good a machine for you as mine has been for me

      Hey thank you! Yes this machine seems to be well cared for. That was one of the reasons I bought it. I wanted a 410 but couldn’t find anything that wasn’t super expensive or clapped out. This 210 should fit right in for what I need it for!

    I have the same machine but it won’t go in forward gear.I found where 2 wires broke off of a solenoid on the left side of the reverser that could be repaired but can’t figure out where they should run to.Would you happen to have any electrical schematics for yours and maybe tell me where they go?

    • @AbramsExcavating
      @AbramsExcavating  Рік тому +1

      Hey unfortunately I don’t have any info on that. However I think you might be able to look at a 310c. I think the transmission and reversers are similar! Best of luck!

      On my 1987 410c the “neutral start switch” is on the left side of the reverser, kind of in behind the battery box and the master switch. There are two wires that go to it so it won’t start unless the reverser is in neutral. There’s another wire in that area that runs down to the 4wd sensor to activate the 4wd indicator light on the dash. But as far as why it won’t move forward I wouldn’t know. Maybe you can go on the Heavy Equipment Forum or somewhere like that. Members are usually very helpful there. Good luck.

    I can’t log into my main channel with the videos of my old machine, Johndeere4300 is the name of that channel if you’d like to search. I had one of these machines for several years 210C 4x4. I miss it Very reliable just make sure to run off road diesel otherwise the injection pump will tear up quick happened twice to me. I had over 8000 hours on mine with no major issues

    • @AbramsExcavating
      @AbramsExcavating  Рік тому

      They really are great machines! I always run red diesel in all my
      Equipment. Interesting to hear the pump was torn up by not running red fuel. Always thought these pumps were tough

    Should habe kept a wheel loader and a set of forks as what I've seen on other channels great for loading and unloading in a yard or for repairs Mike at Dirt Perfect has one he says super handy Matt at Diesel creek had Fat Alice and always using it mabey another one in the future 😎 it takes mess to make progress i like that

      I’ve had a bunch of wheel loaders through the years, I’ve found them all to be very clumsy. I’d like to find a small wheel loader someday. Like a little Jcb or a kubota.
