Cutting a mountain road Cat 943 track loader
Am looking for something around the house. To move stuff and do some dirt and stone work for driveway and a pad for pole barn. These are in my price range, along with older (90s)compact tractor with loaders. In your opinion, what would you do? I like how everything is new on these. And i can do basically anything myself. Just dont want to be replacing hoses or seals every other use eith thenolder tractors.
That’s a tough call, honestly the older compact tractors are probably a more durable option. These Chinese machines are not built very well. They will get you by for random odd jobs and such but to actually do work and dig or level I don’t think it would hold up. At least with an older compact tractor You’ll have a diesel engine and something to work with if it breaks. They were designed to be repaired. Not just pushed out the door like the Chinese stuff
I've seen similar rock drills with company in the UK
I guess stuff on that side of the pond is pretty similar then!
1st time watching from the UK obviously I was an excavator driver. I like the little JCB first time I've ever seen one. I know it's not on this video but the yanmar is really good as well
Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel! Yes the little Jcb is a neat machine. The yanmar was pretty sweet too!
Здравствуйте, много хорошей и интересной техники;спасибо за видео, вы много работаете! Дай бог здоровья Вам
Thank you! I like to work, thanks for watching!
Очень сильно понравился маленький JCB хороший
For sure definitely a nice little machine!
AbramsExcavating Только почему Вы один работаете? Где напарник?
It’s easier for me to work alone. I have a lot of expensive equipment. The help that’s available here is not the best. They don’t respect the equipment. I also am not a big company. I normally have enough work to keep myself busy, I farm on the side. And repair equipment too. So I always have something different. It’s hard to find somebody to help you That is able to do all of the jobs required
For farmuse: equip it wih a pole sharpener. Maybe on a bracket in exchange for the bucket. Search "post sharpening machine Giant pencil sharpener" to see whwe I am going with this
It would be handy with a roll cage. At lest you can have a roof, work a bit even if it is raining. And to go really overborad, attach a plexi sheet as front window to keep some rain an d wind off.
A good roll cage would be a nice addition. Closing in the cab would be great for snow removal work!
I get not getting a return on money and time spent but it still hurt to see new wood screwed down to rusty metal. Looks pretty good in the end though
Yea the trailer did turn out pretty good. I fully understand the pain of not cleaning up and painting the metal before putting the deck on. It bothered me, however the amount of time to strip the trailer and honestly sandblast it would be the only way to do it. It just wouldn’t make financial sense. I paid $3000 plus tags and tax for the trailer, sold it for $5000 and had about $700 in decking/ screws. I made a little profit, but the trailer i replaced this with was much more.
After showing the pole, you shouldn't really be complaining about the quality of the Chinese product that you paid peanuts for but expected a Caterpillar, just like the rest of us😊 All the things that were loose it's probably assembled in USA by a American, because they come in pieces from China....
Well first off, I never expected a caterpillar nor did I say I expected better. It’s a cheap Chinese machine. I was simply pointing out flaws. However it’s to be expected that if you buy a product it will at least function properly out of the box Second, these are not assembled in the USA. They come in a crate in a shipping container with the only assembly required being the crappy roof. So please don’t act like you know what’s going on unless you have actual facts.
we used those drills for holes for blasting hillsides for railroade in the 70s
That’s interesting to learn! I assumed they had many uses but I know very little about drilling or this type of rig.
Hell of a buy.
For sure!
Be careful with that Yanmar engine. You might only get another 80 or 90 years out of it.
Ain’t that the the truth. They hardly ever die!
anybody see the doggo roll the tennis ball in lol
She’s good at that haha. Always has a ball
Cha Ching. Smokin Deal
Yes that whole auction was a good deal for me!
Where did u find this auction? I’m my area auctions aren’t cheap anymore
This was a small poorly advertised retirement auction for a geothermal company. I think it was just luck that nobody watching the auction wanted the equipment. Cause normally the big auctions here you can’t touch this stuff
Congrats, you scored big time. Amazed that the motor started so easily. The drill rig is a big bonus. Your four legged foreman looks just like ours even down to the ball in the mouth.
Thanks! Yea you could see it in my face I did not expect that to start that smoothly! Marley is a great four legged foreman! Always has a tennis ball!
@@AbramsExcavating Our rescue dog/failed working dog is Tabitha which means Gazelle. That fits. Tall, bounds around a lot.
glad it work out sir. he jumped on it like a june bug. i would have.
Oh yea definitely a deal!
companies use those drill's for cement core drilling retro fit lights on bridges. side walk's.
I’m kinda upset I didn’t go drill a hole with it but at the same point I didn’t know what I was doing with the drill rig and didn’t wanna damage it
I’m guessing about an hours worth of maintenance per hour of actual use type of a machine.
Seems like that was the case while I owned it. It might be a little better now that some stuff has been addressed
Yanmar one of the best brands you can buy.
They definitely make a good diesel Engine!
sad that u couldn't keep the little Yanmar track dumper, wanted to see u rebuild-it.
I’ve got another little Dumper I’ll be rebuilding when I get the time! This yanmar was just an awkward size for me. Too big for small back yards and too small for site work.
Hold on... this has no front brakes at all? Man, that's indcredibly dangrerous, considering it can easily lift a payload that makes the rear axle very light
That is a point I completely overlooked. It’s like having an old 2 wheel drive backhoe or tractor and going down a hill with a full bucket! Sketchy times right there. The only thing I can think of is since it’s full time 4x4 you would have some front brakes through the driveline. However it’s also full open diff sooo it could be ineffective
@@AbramsExcavating That's a very good point, I didn't think of the 4WD. Does it have center differential? I'm assuming it does not, since it pivot steering so it may not need that, and in that case it would brake with the front tires even if the rear ones are off the ground. But even in that case, the braking would only be as effective as the less powerful brake, and you may not notice if one of the brakes is not adjusted properly as it wouln't effect normal operation on flat ground that much. So not as bad as I initially thought, but I wouldn't want to drive that on hilly terrain!
@ yea it still leaves a lot to be desired in the braking department! But honestly the whole machine was built very cheap so I wouldnt put it in any hairy situations just cause who knows what other weak link may be lingering!
Great buy.
For sure!
they seem like it could be a fun project. adapting it to use the skid steer quick attachment system and more weight on the rear end you may have a real usable mini loader / offload forklift
Definitely. It has a ton of potential if you wanna invest the time and money into it!
Wow! What an incredible deal! I’m sure that the yanmar will pay for itself many times over.
Yes I couldn’t believe I won it that cheap. Everything at that auction went way cheap. I got that vertical rock drill for $6000… another smokin deal.
Very cool these are getting popular yanmar makes some of the neatest machines
Yea I’d have to guess this is a 90s machine. I’ve had a few of these over the years. Still have a smaller one that will fit through a 48” gate and haul 2 ton.
Am I first comment?
Ding ding we have a winner!
This machine looks like it was built in someone’s shed with spare parts.
It was about that type Of quality!
Как трактор чувак?
Doing well!
We were at an auction last month and a FL45 sold for $1100.00
That’s a heck of a deal. The consignor definitely lost money on that one.
landscapers or field tile guys might like this thing though, it might be idea for a landscaper but a construction company? doubtful
Yea definitely a landscaper type machine. Or an underground utility contractor maybe? But for me as an excavation contractor it’s not a good fit
For $2000 it’s probably an ok purchase ….unreal how China can put products out like this but our “policies” of the US government have allowed this sort of thing… The unit seems simple enough to work on as long as you don’t need a specific part for it….good luck trying if need be… Thoroughly checking it over was a good idea for sure……that being said it looked like the rear U-bolts that hold the rear diff in place were loose? May have been the camera angle but a couple of the nuts didn’t look right ….
Yea it’s wild how cheap it was, it is a pretty basic mechanical machine. Nothing fancy. Easily repaired or retrofitted if a part fails. The u bolts were loose… but they were literally welded to the axle tubes so tightening them wouldn’t really make much difference.
Very surprised that JCB has not made a bigger and more powerful version of this machine making it more usable ?
Yes I feel like this has very good potential. I’m not sure why they didn’t give it more power. Especially since I’m pretty sure Most of them come standard with high flow. But a mid size backhoe on tracks like this would definitely stand out
Thanks for the review.
No problem! Hope you enjoyed it!
Asking a lot out of that little engine i wonder how long it lasts clearly being pushed beyond its comfort zone trying to run an altenator and all the hydraulics
I think the engine would last longer than the machine. It’s really only running a small hydro pump and a clutch to the transmission. Most lawn tractors Are under a similar load while mowing if not more load.
😂😂😂y su presidente electo en contra de el.pais que los hundira como potencia.comercial😂😂😂😂😂
As a operator all that weight high on a small tracked foot print seems uncomfortable.
All the weights on the bottom! Incredibly stable to be honest. The motor is really low, final drives the heavy part of the rear boom slide is low. The loader sets low. It’s all low center of gravity. It just looks unstable cause the cab is so tall.
After decades of experience with tractors and hoes, the one common denominator of anything JCB is unreliability. What an expensive pile they will be.
My other Jcb machines have been great pieces of equipment. Sorry you’ve had this experience
Any make will have wronguns , i've ran JCB tractors & a 4CX plus a JS160 into very high hours with very little issues
Yup Jcb makes some good stuff!
I absolutely loved the old jcb 210s but you're right, right was expensive sleeving the block and wasting a bunch of time working on it 😅 the power to weight and maneuverability of that backhoe was was better than the johndeere that replaced it
Any machine under 74hp doesn't need exhaust after care treatment!
That’s true. But most of their machines don’t even have a DPF that’s more what I was referring to
@@AbramsExcavating I'm not following you. Only machines 75HP and up are required to have emissions equipment. Doesn't have anything with how "clean" it runs. Why would it have a DPF if it doesn't have emissions equipment or use DEF?
Look up Jcbs Kohler diesel engines. They run clean enough to not require a DPF or EGR. The 74hp cap is for exhaust after treatment such as DEF. Most machines under 74hp have a DPF filter. That is part of an emissions system. Jcb/kohler have been able to get their engines to run clean enough to not require it. This machine has a Perkins and is completely free of emissions equipment but that may have something to do with being under 50hp that I’m not familiar with. I was just making the point that most Jcb equipment doesn’t need any emissions equipment.
Think of it like an escavador? Whats an escavador?
Guess you don’t even know what your profile picture is. Excavator is what I said.
@@AbramsExcavating Play the video, listen to yourself escavador guy.
The only thing that comes out of China tight are mail order brides.
Hahhaah oh boy
What if you put some eye hooks for 🪝 for light pull in the concrete before it set up ? 😂
Might just tear the whole Box Off The frame!
@ yeah 🤣
It’s really easy to wire that up for the attachments. If they made this a little bigger with 80hp I’d definitely buy one.
I understand it isnt difficult to wire up the 14 pin plug. But It doesnt even have the proper switches or even places to Mount switches in the cab. I believe with more power it would definitely be a better machine!
You'd prefer to go from 74hp to 80hp? Is that a joke? 😂
This machine only has 49hp
if you dont mind me asking. How much did you sell it for? i always see these on auction, around me sell for around 1,500 up to 4,000 for some. never see them on marketplace though, just wondering about the market on there.
So I sold it for $4350. I paid with tax and auction fees $2100. This was the cheapest one on marketplace here. Every other one they are trying to get 4500-6500 for them which is far too much
@AbramsExcavating dang. I could not imagine paying 6500 for one. I still don't even know how they make profit from the factory. You start breaking down the price for parts on them, and it adds up real quick. Even with their shotty work, it don't make sense.
That’s what I can’t figure out either. 2 years ago when I first got the Chinese excavator a few companies approached to to sell them. They were offering them to me for like $2800 each back then. I didn’t want to be linked to Chinese equipment cause I do buy and sell a lot Of name brand stuff so I declined. But it just makes you scratch your head how they even make a profit. I’m pretty sure whoever consigned this mini wheel loader in the auction lost money on the deal. There’s no way they are cheaper than 2,000 direct from overseas.
Looks like a handy little machine
It would be handy if you could only buy one machine! But for me I needed it to do more skid steer work and being it won’t work with a few of my most used attachments it wasn’t gonna fit in for me!
Been waiting on a in depth review thanks for the upload
No problem! And if there’s something I didn’t cover feel free to reach out. I was pretty disappointed with the machine. I’m a big Jcb skid steer fan too.. It would be great for a landscaper or odd job sorta machine. But for excavation it’s not quick enough. That’s kinda what it comes down to.
Seems wrong not to have the Dash Upfront somehow
Yea I feel like it was pretty bare bones with the dash too. The But at the same point there wasn’t much room up front for the dash. I would have like to see More gauges
Liner leaks?
Nah the head gasket fixed it right up. It was an external head gasket leak that I kinda had. A hunch about but was t sure til I got it torn down!
My old boss had one of the first generation of these on runner tires , we hated it 😂 the 2 ( let's call them BIGGER operators ) got stuck after swiveling the seat around and the backhoe was essentially useless .... it was so fast at idle you could fly fish with the friggen thing !! Hopefully this thing is better than the jcb "minimaster" I had the horror of running lol oh yeah anything under 65 degrees it didn't have a chance of starting without a propane bullet heater on it for an hour and the machine only had like 250 hours on it 😂😂😂
The shorter bottom bucket is to increase the curling ability of the machine too because it's so limited
Haha sounds like a real gem! This one I felt was too slow to respond! It did start good on colder days. I’d say they made some improvements but not sure it’s a whole lot better!
@AbramsExcavating yeah that machine looks heads and tails above the "minimaster " if you want a good laugh look them up im almost positive it was called a "minimaster 208" 😂😂😂 it would show up on a job and the guys would just start shoveling they knew it was going to be no help whatsoever 😂😂
You know it’s bad when guys grab a shovel over a machine!! I’ve seen the 208s here. Never ran one though!
A snow blower attachment and larger snow bucket on the rear. Alaskans may like it.
Yea I could see that for Sure!
These are the machines you leave around your house, while the good equipment is out on the jobs, you’ll notice these machines are rarely if ever seen on construction sites, the allure of these is they are like a mini backhoe, but backhoes are a thing being replaced by skidsteer, and mini excavators.
That was my plan for it. A backup machine. But in all honesty it was not even very well suited for that for me. It didn’t have a great lift capacity and the backhoe was kinda useless to me. I have enough excavators that there’s always one around the shop
