    Great video! Called Bosch and a repairman call is American dollars: $130 plus $30 for every 15 minutes of labor. The pump itself is $38 dollars. You saved me a lot of money and made my wife a happy camper! If you're ever headed to Western NC, USA, send me a message and I'll buy you a beer🍻

    This worked for my Bosch shx45m06uc/48! I can repair my car for days, but for some reason, replacing a pump felt pretty intimidating even while watching you do it. The instructions were exactly the same for this model, including having to take off the front door panel, so I appreciate the detailed tutorial!

    Thank you so much for putting this video up. I replaced the water inlet valve first. I HAD to move my dishwasher out because the water hose was too short for me to work with it in place. But that was a good thing because when I took the side panel off the dishwasher (which only needed one screw removed to take off the small metal plate) and saw that the water was moving but not being propelled through the tubes to the last drain hose, THAT is when I realized that the drain pump was the culprit. Replaced the pump.Ta-da! Now, it works like a charm.
    BTW... It was easier to manipulate it into place with my woman hands then it was for you and another guy I watched. Men, ask your women for help with this part and you'll both be pleased with how fast the replacement goes! :-)

    Hi aaanton11, my dish washer is very similar to yours. I tried to run it this morning, the drain pump was constantly running even though the door was open. All the filters are clear. I suspect the flood detector valve has been activated (I think it's a little polysterene float valve which when it floats activates and switches off the water inlet) in the lower tray which is under the main dish washer. If I leave it for a couple of days the water in the lower tray may evaporate and the machine will hopefully start to work again. I think the reason the float valve has been activated is that the main door seals have become dirty and clogged up allowing water into the lower tray and activated the float valve. It's a good idea to regularly clean all the door seals. Loved the video, a really good help for me. Thank you.

    Excellent video helped me out - multiple Bosch models have the same drain and pump system. In my example, I had a semi-working system that was not leaking on the floor but started always having the bottom pan full after a cycle. The pump also was louder than usual. Following your steps, I learned the pump and flap valve appeared okay. I disconnected the drain hose from the flexible coupling on the garbage disposal. I found a triangular piece of black, curved plastic that may have partially blocked the hose. I ran a short cycle with the drain hose in a bucket and found the pump worked fine without excessive noise and drained the pan fully.

      @@aaanton11 So its done. took the whole day :-( the drain pump was good but there was water coming out what looked like an overflo in the water index, that the white thing on the side. I took that off but first had to make 3 tools to get the plastic nut that is inside the washer off. This took ages. For anyone that is battling to take this nut off. Take a pencil rubbing of the nut then cut it out and stick it onto a piece of hardward ply, I used 12mm. I put 8x40mm bolts through holes drilled in the wood near the corners of the template that was stuck to the wood. Its very difficult to explain but it worked. I also heated it with a hair dryer.Anyway thank you for your video it inspired me to give it a go. There was also another video that showed which nuts to remove and how to get the water index off.

  • @hueyjock01
    @hueyjock01 6 років тому

    I had my water pipes freeze and quickly got them running with a hairdryer. Later in the day I got the E24 light on the Bosch dishwasher. Cleaned the filters and vacuumed all water out - still blocked. Finally unhooked the drain hose from near the sink trap and blew on it. Some air went through then blocked again. Hooked the vacuum to the hose and pieces of ice came out. Next time the pipes freeze, the dishwasher drain hose will get attention too, TIP: If you live where your pipes might freeze, do not throw towels and plastic bags over them. It gathers cold from underneath and insulates them from any warmth.

    • @aaanton11

    Is there a programme on the dishwasher to test just the drainage after I put little water in like you did to test for leaks. I am trying not to try it it after it fills and then if it does not work I will have plenty of water that floods out when I open the door.

    I had this problem and did all the filter cleaning and made sure the drain pump propeller was spinning.
    All fine.
    I thought the next stage would be to pull out the dishwasher and check the drain pipe which I was going to do the next day.
    Then sitting down I thought what else would stop it draining?
    Then it came to me.
    I went to the washer and turned it on. Totally dead.
    The fuse in the plug blew and that's why it didn't drain.
    Check there is power to the washer before proceeding.

    Thanks for the video. Wonder if you can advise? I have an old bosch dishwasher and it has stopped draining. I have checked all the likely culprits and even took heh side off and checked for blockages. Everything was clear. So I did another check and put it on a quick wash, then stood next to it, still with the side off, to see if I could spot anything. After about 30 minutes, the dishwasher should have went in to drain mode but, instead, the program just ended, confirmed by the end light being on, on the front panel. Do you think this is the drain pump or do you think their is an issue with the control panel and it is not sending the drain pump an instruction to start draining? Hope you can advise.

      Sounds a painful experience, you need a multimeter to run some simple tests on the pump,continuity through the windings, and to see if there is a voltage at the wires when the pump should be draining 👍🏻👍🏻

      Thanks for getting back. Prob too much for my limited experience. Dishwasher is older than me, so it could be time for a new one.

    My drain pump in my Bosch dishwasher is turning (plastic fins are all there) but not draining water . The pathways are seemingly clean. Is it the rubber valve near this pump which is responsible? It seems intact. Thank you.

    Can the side chambers get blocked resulting preventing it to drain?

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  5 років тому

      It is unlikely, but rule nothing out until it is checked, there are good filters protecting the pump and pipes 🛠thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻

    Hello! what if the check valve is broken in two pieces? pulled it out and found that bottom dangling circle part of it had snapped off- I can feel its still in there but I don't know how to get it out in order to replace it with the new check valve.

      You will need to use a pick tool like amzn.to/2xC7B2P or a pair of long nose pliers, might be able to get some tweezers in there, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    My 14 year old Bosch isn’t draining. If it’s the pump, should I just consider getting a new one? I’d have to have repairman fix pump so I’d have a large fee from that. Thanks.

    Hi, I think I have the same problem but also maybe an additional issue. My dishwasher although it doesn’t drain it also doesn’t start filling with water. I assume this maybe the intake solenoid valve. Anyone got any ideas? Thank you

      @@aaanton11 So yesterday I managed to get it to drain by pressing and holding the two temperature buttons. Once it reset and beeped to say it at finished the cycle I then closed the door and it drained. But then I tried to start the cycle again and the dishwasher filled up to the bottom of the tray but did nothing. I opened the door and just saw cold water at the bottom. So it drains and fills but just doesn’t start the cycle. Thanks for any help you can provide. Oh, Happy Nee Year!

    hey anton - thanks for your help in this video. i just took the pump out of the dishwasher and the propeller seems to be intact but, whenever i flick it, it has some sort of resistance (feels like a spring) - is this normal? or it should be working without any sort of resistance? thanks! here is a video drive.google.com/file/d/1yRIwHko6ROfoV0ty0aZFGq7f8xaGeNPg/view?usp=sharing
