Todd is the best! He is nominated for the 2019 R&R Hall Of Fame and he deserves to be in there! You can vote for him daily until Dec.9th here: www.rockhall.com/fanvote
@@michellerjackson5776 I've heard him say that as well but deep down I think he probably would take some satisfaction from it if he gets in. I would hope he would show up for all the fans who have been rooting him on through the years. He must realize the support he has out there. When he is gone, his name will live on better if he is in the R&R Hall Of Fame. It will also raise his profile and perhaps bring new fans on board and wouldn't it be great to see him be more recognized for his genius? And I'm pretty sure he is on the road for 200 or so days a year not only because he enjoys it but he needs the money to support his lifestyle. How many more years can he keep this up? I would love it for him to get the financial rewards he deserves so he can tour less if he chooses and concentrate on making more great music! All the best!
In the 70s I saw Todd many times on the Sunset strip. Usually a t the Roxy. I would go all three nights and sit in the front. Such great memories of youth and driving up to Hollywood from Orange County. This song always got the crowd rocking...and Love is the Answer... Everyone sung.! There was a feeling o peace and brotherhood. His lyrics areso inspiring. I am going to start listening again.
The most underrated song by Todd himself...😉. No complex harmony, just a smooth hypnotic simple arpeggio and vocals going anywhere over it... Perfect for a "wheel of karma", going round and round and round. The absolute exception in TR's writing "routine" ! 11/10 best rate
I don't think so, I've seen him with every lineup he's had since he penned this amazing song. The audience is so ready to sing along. I've also seen him sing it with Kasim and the hello people harmonizing at the Roxy on back to the bars tour, all 10 shows in 5 nights,.was fantastic week.
From 15years to what i am now (64) and it just gets betta i absolutely love his music feel so blessed to have been born during the start of his master class what a voice what a guitar player even the track from meatloafs bat out of hell
I love to juxtapose this version with the Wizard's appearance as A-in-R at Notre Dame with McKenzie Brummond. To me it shows not just what an artist Todd is but also what a teacher he is as well. And I will always appreciate a teacher, especially a Wizard.
Inspiring music; I wish everyone could listen and put to practice what he's singing about... might improve a world that's as messed up as it is... and hopefully make it better!
Pretty damn hard to be in a bad mood after listening to this. You'd have to be going way out of your way to let evil win... I'm really glad to have found this...thank you for posting it my friend. I'm going to go out and be nice to people all damn day.......
Hoover where are you? My brain gets sore.. if we could just get everyone to listen.. thanks Jim Hoover for spreading this.. and oh hell yeah thank u Todd for decades of U
Sometimes the simplest melodies are the best melodies. I don't know many 'technical' aspects of music, but what does he have here? Five or six notes? And yet he creates a powerfully lambent feeling of security and safety. I literally wish that this song never ended... Let us off this wheel...
No, this is the original Todd Rundgren sound. Nobody can sing like this, and Todd was a huge influence on Daryl Hall's sound. He produced War Babies, and after that, Daryl Hall and John Oates played it safe and became a commercial, pop-oriented band. 🙂
Saw Todd twice in concerts; one in San Jose Armory, and one at the Greek Theater in Griffith Park. This is a great video of him pouring out his soul through his voice!❤
Kasim looks about 15 in this clip. :D Wish there were more quality clips of The Wheel. I believe there was a TR/Utopia show I went to back in either '76 or '77 where Roger played the trumpet on this song.
Proff that he is an amazing man is his "Artist in Resisdence" videos from the Notre Dame art school. Here's a link where he's singing this song with a student: ua-cam.com/video/3FAmrUi827E/v-deo.html
Good enough melody, like Todd before Utopia, and don't understand the karma trip and wheel of healing stuff. Seems too obvious and seems deep but it's not really to me. I guess good advice to live by? Give me Real Man (right i know that was with Utopia i think).
Rebecca M. Are you really that misinformed about talent??? Fucking loser Darryl Hall couldn't/can't hold a fucking candle to rundgren, not instrument wise, or vocal wise, nor song composition wise, nor producer/arranger/engineer wise, and lastly not performer wise,!!! Oh wait what am I thinking, the only thing that was listed that Hall can "claim" to do is sing,, and compose an occasional piece of shit sappy radio friendly girly bubble gum song, and his singing voice doesn't come anywhere close to Todd's octave range, so basically I think your comment is simply ridiculously absurd
He's right, you know. Let me off this wheel of Samsara. I'm NOT coming back here again. If karma was real, and you're supposed to be coming back over and over to learn lessons, why is your mind wiped after every life, i.e., lessons. Sounds like a trap or trick to me. A good way to control the population. Just saying.
Todd's catalog is the greatest compilation of music that exists.
End of story
Anyone watching during this time of uncertainty?
How many Todd songs have the TIMELESS messages?! God be with us all🙏✝️🦋♥️
🙋🤙
Todd be with us all ♥
absolutely!
The more I listen to this, the more I get out of it.
I miss young Todd. The music and lyrics were more cerebral
"At least I think I finally learned how to sing." Now there's an understatement if there ever was one. A master class in vocalization.

Yes!
Todd and his many musical iterations are one of the things that bring joy and happiness into my world. God Bless Runt!
Todd has been bringing love and happiness to my world my entire life... 🤙
no doubt!
Just an awesome version! Amazing...
I was there. Two nights in a row. It doesn't get any better than that.
I was there also, Royal Oke Theater.... Seem's like yesterday
Makes you realize how closely Prince was listening to these records... ;)
That's funny. I think of PRINCE as a black Todd Rundgren.

Wow- born in 1965, I only heard Todd when the Nazz, and Utopia hits started penetrating my brain..and after 1980's- I've been CAPTURED 💕🦋💕♥️

I agree @Ashby Beal!
This song has grown on me so much. I love the rolling feel of the music…fitting the theme. Todd is brilliant!
Just discovered this. Getting to know Todd well now. This is a song that talks. Perfection.
The original 'live' version of "The Wheel" on "Another Live" outside Detroit, I had the pleasure of attending. A heartwrenching tune.
Sooo beautiful T,R, age early 30s typica; youthful looking Geminian
Here’s Todd channeling his inner Darryl Hall.
I can't begin to imagine how many times I listened to this album back in the early 80's.
I have heard this song for the first time at their concert in The Hague and i loved it immediately
This really is an amazing song. The words are so profound. The harmonies are just spot on. I miss this band...so much! :0(

If I could like it twice. I would. Can't get off this Wheel Of Karma. Love this song!
For a visual of the word "joy," just look at the face of the bass player from 7:35-7:45.
