    You and GTN talked about the packs that form in the cycling section of full and half Ironman races. How does that work, when they need to maintain a non-drafting distance? I think even Jan Frodeno was complaining after the 70.3 World Championships that no one was helping in the bike. Would be interested to hear in a future post.

    Great video Taren, Im learning a lot, would you be able to go further into detail on the explanation at 6:12. I understand a vertical line over a slanted line but is this judged from the tip of the saddle to the toe or the middle of the saddle to the middle of the foot

    Thanks Taren, Really looking forward to these videos... although I don't have pains from cycling, I am often travelling so using different gym bikes. Always annoying to be sure set up new bike right before workout.

    one thing I didn't quite get is about fore/aft saddle position: which points on the leg do you choose to draw your line (pedal/hip?)

      I'm glad I went looking before I asked this question, as this is a "i have this question too" comment. I suspect the line is drawn from your hip bone down to the middle of the foot, but that's just based on observation of Taren's line in the video. Taren, can you clarify?

      You should use the KOPS (Knee over Pedle Spindle) method by using a drop line. Just check out some videos on UA-cam and you will see ;)

      @@K.mersch kops is so outdated, and commonly mistaken as an adjustment rule where as it is intended to check the size limits before buying a bike. In addition, TT bikes and positioning are not the same as road bikes, you should be more on the front end anyway

    When setting the fore/aft of a saddle, are you really changing your position since you're technically clipped into the pedals? If you are clipped in, your body is your body and it's going to push/pull itself however it wants to. If you were on flat pedals, you may be able to fudge it more, but are you more moving the saddle to be comfortable beneath you? You can hold yourself in a saddle position change for a little bit, ultimately though, I think you're going to end up back wherever your body wants to generate power from.

    Saddle height is very important, I am getting some left knee pain and I think my saddle is too high, before it was A LOT power and was giving me IT band pains.

    What about seat/leg position if you're not running afterwards? For a time trial for example. Would you be so far forward?

    Splendid vid, as usuall. Ony one issue - could you please level up the theme song with the rest of the video? Here in Europe we do receive your uploads in the evening, watching it (at least me) in the bed. Sudden change in the volume are waking up the kids:) Thanks!

      Amen to that. I have to listen on headphones frequently, and most of the time I remember to lower the volume, but when I don't...WOO HOO...sometimes makes my eyes water. :-)

    Proper bike fit is so cheap compared to price of a bike or a wheelset, it's the best possible bike upgrade anyone can get, and it should be done right after buying a bike.
