I support the cosleeping but I have to say…. It’s AMAZING when you get to the point your hot floppy toddler is in their own room 7pm-7am. Still morning cuddles of course!

I love your idea of transitioning with the bed in your room so it’s a slow transition and not a traumatic experience for either of you. And you’re the mom, don’t let people get you down or irritated about the cosleeping. It’s proven that children that are nurtured and allowed to feel their big feeling in a tiny body tend to be more compassionate and empathetic adults. You’re doing great! ❤️

We've been using Hello Fresh for a few weeks because I got really tired of cooking the same things I've been making through the pandemic. Their recipes are so good! I've learned a couple of things too. Like adding a tablespoon of butter to a sauce after it's done cooking to make it rich and creamy. MMMM.

My 5 year old still sleeps with me!! It’s my favorite part of the day since I work full time outside the home. The bonding has been really incredible. It’s not like she will want to cosleep until she is 12, it’s a short window, time you can’t have back. 10/10 recommend cosleeping. ☺️

I 100% agree with the feeling of completion. My husband and I always said 3. My first pregnancy was super easy and she is such a good baby girl and is a healthy 3 year old. My second baby was another girl and is 8 months old and she is so good, but my goodness her pregnancy was so much tougher. With her pregnancy I had a feeling of completion that our family was complete. He had a vasectomy and we have no regrets we feel happy and so content with knowing we are done. I'm also really treasuring all of her firsts and enjoying that this is my last set of firsts.

My three year old son still sleeps in our room... he gets insanely scared if he is in his own room. Also, i didn't even know floor beds were a thing! My poor boy has been sleeping on his crib mattress on the floor for like a year lol. My middle child (one year old); however, she is the most independent little girl and looooves her own room. Then, I have my 3 month old in a bassinet next to the bed. Our babies are only little for so long and I know I'll miss the cuddles and sleepovers one day! So happy for you guys! Praying for safe pregnancy, labor and deliver, and baby!

I loved your explanation about co-sleeping with James. I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. My oldest is super affectionate. My husband and I joke that he could live off of love and love alone. My youngest (named James, ironically) is stubborn and independent. He took to his crib right away and sleeps by himself no issue. He’ll give hugs and kisses but only for a couple of minutes before breaking off to run and play. My oldest slept in our bed until about 2 and still requires a full 45 minute snuggle session before he falls asleep in his own room. Each child is different and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with catering to their needs at this age.

I'm so excited for you, your family, and little baby! I'm hoping it's a girl, I know she would be dressed to the nines!
We didn't really co-sleep with my oldest, she really took to sleeping on her own at an early age. She's 8 now and more co-dependent than when she was little. I don't think co-sleeping affects anything like that. Now we did co-sleep with my youngest for a few months, but then she also took really well to her own bed. The jury is still out on whether or not she will be co-dependent.

Elle I am so excited and happy for you and you look absolutely gorgeous! Wishing you well on this magical journey! At the risk of possibly opening myself up to some negative feedback, I wanted to offer some honest, but still kind feedback re your videos over the last while...without sounding like I’m being nasty, they’ve just become a bit monotonous. It’s the same sit down chats in each video with the same sponsor format and then a long chat where you share updates that are either weeks and months past or seem like you’re not really into sharing but have to as this is your ‘job’. I mention this because I know that the world has changed and your life has been different, but I miss your videos where you took us around your home and life and shared genuine real life reviews and vlogging. I miss your passion for what you do, your passion for beauty and creating. Just some input from someone who has watched you for many years! It’s okay to evolve/change, just recommending a change of scenery or content. At the end of the day the subscriber base here is largely made of those who followed you for many years preceding this chapter of your journey. Despite the content being different it doesn’t mean it can’t be relatable.

my mom co slept with my sister. she thought it would end at some point... but my sister was still cosleeping with my mom through high school and my dad slept in the living room. my mom was extremely dependent on my sister for happiness and truth be told... it destroyed our entire family. there was extreme favoritism and my parents never had a healthy relationship. you truthfully cant when your 16 yr old daughter is sleeping in the ''marital bed'' i share this not to be vindictive, but everyone thinks ''it will end at some point'' and.... that's not true unless you are actively trying to end it. it become a co dependent relationship on both child and parent. the longer co sleeping continues, the harder it will be to stop.

    • @lightwarrior11
      @lightwarrior11 2 роки тому

Every family is different, and it does sound like your mom had an unhealthy relationship with your sister- and I’m sorry you had to deal with that.
But that being said. I co-slept with my parents until I was 11-12 and I stopped on my own. My little brother co-slept until about the same age, stopping on his own as well. We have a very healthy, loving family dynamic. I’m nearly 30 now and we’re all still incredibly close.

Hi Elle, I was wondering about James co-sleep thing after you answered but what if you lay with him in his own bed and then leave when he falls asleep? BTW I'm not a pro or anything and I'm definitely not judging cause I don't even have babies but my mom used to do it with my sister and me when we were younger. My sister was more clingy, I was more independent so she would lay on her bed and hold my hand, would tell us a story and we would fall asleep with her and then she would leave. Could that work with him? (Keep in mind that my sister was 3-4 when this would happen). Congrats again on your pregnancy! I'm so happy for you

I hate how much society judges mothers. No matter what you do someone is going to have a problem with it. I do my best not to judge because everyone has their own way of doing things. As long as it is not physically, mentally or emotionally damaging to the child I don't think it should matter. If you want to cosleep then do it and if you don't then don't ya know. No need to condemn the person who has the opposite opinion of you.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with your cosleeping situation. I personally would never do it, because I plan to continue working my 9-5, so it is very important for me to get as much sleep as possible during the night, but I might cosleep if I was a stay at home mom or ran my own business and had more flexible hours. You just have to do what’s right for you and your situation!

I Coslept with my parents until I was about 7 or 8 years old. My brother is 3 years younger and he coslept as well, all 4 of us in a bed. I’m not sure what age he stopped. Probably around 7 as well. I don’t understand why people care so much. It’s not normal for most humans to sleep alone when they get older and get married. Most people sleep with their partner every night and are more comfortable that way. If we don’t expect grown adults to be happier sleeping alone then why do we expect young children to feel safe or comfortable sleeping alone? Cosleeping is very normal in some other cultures by the way. I have always had such intense anxiety, I can only imagine how much worse my anxiety and depression would be if I didn’t have that comfort and safety in my fundamental growing years. I’m glad you do what’s best for your son.

We had our first daughters name picked out before we even started trying for babies. We didn’t know her gender until the day she was born.
So with our second (gender was unknown too) we had no clue if we had another girl. We had a boys name but not a girls name. It wasn’t about 3 weeks before she was born that we chose a girls name.

My guess is it’s a girl! If they detect a Y it’s definitely a boy bc women don’t have that chromosome.. girl is dicey before you see via ultrasound bc it could just be picking up moms dna!!! Either way two boys or a boy and a girl is so stinking special!

My daughter is 5 and still co-sleeps with me. No regrets 🙂

Would you be upset if your grown-up children decided to change their name, for any reason?

I have felt way more comfortable sleeping with my babies than putting them in crib. They sleep better and I sleep better knowing they're breathing until they're out of the SIDS stage.

Isn't it safest for newborns to sleep alone (inna separate bed, not necessarily another room) to prevent SIDS? As far as I heard SIDS happen more often when co sleeping.

I have a feeling you guys will get pregnant with a third baby completely natural and unexpected! That’s just me, but I do hope I’m right!

Don't laugh... It's not a hello fresh but I just saw James's meatballs and rice and vegetables. I've just put meatballs and rice and vegetables on for me. Looked super yummy. My favourite food is pretty much spaghetti and meatballs. 🍝
