I like this video because for someone who barely cooks for themselves and can't afford much more than kibble, this is actually really helpful information. Cooking is intimidating and stressful, but cooking a little bit like steaming vegetables is easy enough. Adding these things to kibble seems easy enough to me. I really truly want my puppy to grow to be as healthy and happy as possible.
I add a giant tea spoon of pumpkin and sardines to my chihuahuas' breakfast everyday. He also gets one raw chicken foot every day. His name is Boomer and he is THE BoSS!
Thank you, so informative. I give my dogs kibble(by nutro) but i do add bone broth and i took your advice from one of your videos and i found the goat whip which my dogs love. I will be getting the goat milk and some toppers next. Thanks again im so grateful for all your advice 🐾❤️🐶
In Poland pumpkin in cane is not popular. My dog had diarrhoea last week. I only know that carrot helps during diarrhoea. The diarrhoea is gone but I bought slippery elm that helps the guts, etc.
Came to this channel from Saving Pets One Pet @ a Time. I've gotten a TON of information and appreciate it so much. But I'm confused about the Farmer's Dog ad, since what they are saying in that group is not very favorable about that brand. Just goes to show how important it is to educate yourself, take what works for you, and leave the rest. Thank you for all your work and knowledge.
Rachel, thanks so much for immeasueable info and ideas in your videos❤what are your thoughts on cod liver oil for a yorkie 14 week pup? Also what amount is appropriate?
Rachel you always say raw goat milk or raw goat kefir but what about the goat milk and kefir in the grocery stores like trader Joe's and whole foods? The only place I can actually see raw which is almost five times the amount is in the pet food store. Is the one in the organic grocery stores just as good?
I have been adding re-constituted goat milk powder (full cream). I'm not even sure where I could get raw goat milk here. Will the powder have similar effects?
Rachel what dog food would you recommend for a dog with dermatitis and allergies. I do feed dry kibble but I also do half and half all-natural sometimes raw sometimes cooked with veggies and they eat twice a day
Hi Rachel, Thank you so much for inspiring us to feed our puppy the fresh food and others stuffs like treats and toppings. Our golden retriever love his meal times :) Can you do what you feed the cat or what we can add as a topping for cat? We have almost 3 years old cat. We still feed him kibbles also add some home cook meats. I would like to hear your ideas about the food for long life cat feeding as well.
This is actually great cause my dog eats his kibble, but when given an egg or meat added to it, he eats it all up without question so I've been looking around for some healthy alternatives! Thanks
I'm so hooked on your videos. We are retired, my husband and I. We have 4 rescue dashund mix. We are on a budget. So if I did the vegetables, sardine, etc, I've made a list off your videos. What is the best dog food ages 1 to age 5 sold that is in price comparison to what's at the store. Example 15 lbs dry kibble $26. Thank you so much. I want to do all I can for these guys. I'm so thankful for your videos.
Hey Rachel, what is your opinion on the HD can food. I have a dog with very sensitive stomach. Not crazy about the food and have tried other things but it doesn't always agree with her.
I would love to do this for my cocker spaniel, but his tongue hangs out to the left all the time. This make it very difficult so I'm wondering if it would be more frustrating than stimulating because he can't pick up food the same way as a dog with a tongue that comes straight out the front. 🤔
Thank you, Rachel! I am really appreciating your content since I have discovered you the past couple of weeks. We are about to pick up our 2 month old puppy (a Malshi) in a week. Could you tell me if any of these moisture additives can be given to puppies? I'm actually planning on making our own dog food But could have an occasional substitute if necessary. On that note, would you have a recommended kibble that is reasonably priced?
Absolutely! I used all of these (not at same time 😜) on my puppies once weaned. Great question ❤. And these are my favorites foods: www.rachelfusaro.com/dogbetter Thank you for being here!
How many sardines should I feed my chihuahua everyday? And how much goat milk? 🐕❤️❤️❤️ I love dogs & I LOVE your UA-cam channel thank you sooo muchh for making informative videos about dogs!!
I would LOVE to get Farmer's Dog for my pup, but I live in Canada, I know it is not your job to know this, but do you know when or if Farmer's Dog will be able to ship to Canada?
I’m getting a new puppy in 4 weeks! I started watching your videos last week and I can’t believe how much I’m learning😊 I find your videos very helpful with preparing me and my home to give my new pup a safe and fun environment. I do have one question, what is your opinion on letting my dog sleep on my bed? Will it disrupts their crate training? Thank you again for all the useful information you’re providing!
My cavapoo puppy is almost 12 weeks now, and I really wanted him to sleep with me in bed too. My partner was very against this. I’m glad now that we made him sleep in his crate overnight in a different room, as he has a lot of separation anxiety which can be a lot to deal with sometimes. I think it’s been better for him to learn self soothing techniques. Now he knows at night is crate time and he settles so quickly which is great. He does move a lot when he sleeps it helps too so thankful he doesn’t sleep with me at night as he would wake me up. If I want a nap during the day, I do sometimes bring him up to bed with me to nap together. Doesn’t affect his crate training at all from what I’ve seen. But you gotta do what’s best for your dog and you 😊
I wouldn't do that while still a puppy. Maybe later when he\she is completely trained. At least, thats what i am thinking about, but i am a new puppy mommy too, so not a expert. And i am still thinking about it, not sure yet. Also looking for more info about this.
Our dog has slept in bed with us every night since day one (at age 8 weeks). He loves it and we love it. No problem with crate training or separation anxiety and he sleeps through the night.
Do your dogs drink water when you’re feeding them fresh food (farmers dog, Ollie?). My dog was on kibble & used to drink a lot of water. Im switching her to Open Farm gently cooked & she stopped drinking water at all. Should I be worried?
Your videos are excellent! Is this for puppies if any age? I’ve switched my puppy to a company called Oven Baker Tradition from what the breeder was giving him (one on your not so good list) and have noticed great results. Thank you and have a beauuuutiful day as well 😉
Hello, we have a poodle and such breed has very sensitive teeth. We heard that kibbles help for their teeth's health, soft food can only make damage in long term. Also if they eat soft food, with lots of moisture it can cause anal glands, because then the poop is also not so hard, which can also take negative affects for the glands (lots of dogs in our neighborhood had that experience). Can you please comment on this? For example I think it is proven that wet food can take negative affect on teeth and bottom glands... thank you so much for detailed answer in advance
What are your thoughts on pasteurized goat milk? I live in a town where there aren’t stores that sell raw goat milk nearby. If not, do you have any brands you recommend that will ship?
I always at least add water to my dogs food (and frequently kefir) but I don't always wait for it to soak into the kibble. Most rehydration content I see says to let it soak; is there a reason?
That's why you were better feeding your cat canned food rather than dry. Jackson Galaxy says you're better off feeding the cheapest cans food versus the best dry food to a cat. Cats need the moisture.
I'm disappointed that you accepted having Farmer's Dog sponsor your videos. It made one of my dogs stick because of the high-carb content. She started throwing up blood because she couldn't produce enough amylase to digest all those carbs which ended up feeding bacteria in her intestinal tract to cause a bacterial overgrowth. Their food is just too high in carbs, not to mention it has synthetic vitamins. And for what it costs, I can buy much better low-carb dog foods. While I admire them for trying to get dogs off dry kibble and using human-grade ingredients, they pretty much just took the kibble ingredients and just left them whole. On the other hand, I have that exact same lick matt, and I love them. They're dishwasher safe, I don't have to worry about my dogs chewing them and taking a chunk out of them, and they have low-profile suction cups. My dogs will just pull up thicker suction cups, but they can't get to those suction cups, so they can't pull them up. So, a plus for that.
Kibble is disgusting. It’s disgusting how it’s made, it’s disgusting going in the dog. It’s disgusting coming out the dog. It’s disgusting what it does to the dog.
I think the credit on here ,wich complained about spelling should use there own brain and listen to her.dont worry about her spelling.its your job to pick from her info what works for your dog.

This comment is why I do what I do! Thank you for sharing. Improving our dog’s health shouldn’t be intimidating 🙏 You’re doing a good job!
Watch Gordon Ramsay’s shows I promise u will learn how to cook

and this is what right looks like. love to hear this!!
Thank you, we always ad hot water on the air dried kibble from fresco, because my dog likes it a little bit warm like a soup❤
Love this!❤
Thank you so much for this video!!! 👋Blessings !
You are so welcome! Thanks for being here.

Will giving raw food, pumpkin and goat milk cause wetter poop? Only feeding kibble right now an his poop is super clean and firm/ easy to clean.

How young of puppies have to be when give pumpkin and sardines? I'm getting puppy in February she gonna be 8 or 9 weeks when I get her

The stainless steel slow feeder does not link correctly. It goes to a cat bowl when I tried to buy it.
I make homemade food and i noticed my black mouth cur was not pooping so much she was going 5 times just in one feeding
Hi…my 3 month old puppy almost 6lbs eats kibble 3-4 times a day…should I add a topper to the kibble with every feed?
How many sardines should I feed my chihuahua everyday? And how much goat milk? 🐕❤️❤️❤️ I love dogs & I LOVE your UA-cam channel thank you sooo muchh for making informative videos about dogs!!
What to do if your dog doesn't want to touch pumpkin or bone broth? I even tried different brand and no luck.
What do you give for omega 3?

As long as you brush your dogs teeth and give them chews to help their teeth should be okay

Will be collecting used pumpkins at Halloween. 😊

you mention L-Lysine- is there a particular one you have vetted? thank you!!!
so if the back of her purina bag says 1 1/4-1 1/2 cup would I be under feeding if I cut it to 1 cup and added back real foods instead?
If I was feeding that amount, I would start by removing a little under 1/8 of a cup (which is ~10%) and add real whole pet safe foods!
do you have any videos about your views on any canned dog foods?
I just ordered Ollie food from your dog food list. Do u recommend Farmers Dog over Ollie?
the links don't work :(
The link to Farmer’s Dog is not working.
That's why you were better feeding your cat canned food rather than dry. Jackson Galaxy says you're better off feeding the cheapest cans food versus the best dry food to a cat. Cats need the moisture.
I see you say raw goats milk... can you use powdered goats milk or evaporated goats milk?
I use powdered goat milk for my puppy & so far he’s been fine. However make sure there’s no added sugars or any other ingredients
I believe you're right... However I've had multiple vets tell me not to add anything to kibble it needs to remain dry to clean dogs teeth. Hogwash!!!
If u want your dogs teeth to remain clean just brush them

You misspelled nutrients at the beginning of the video, which will make anyone who can spell not trust your advice
and that makes it worse when you try to cite scientific papers that you don't know how to read because you can't event spell the word nutrients
I think the credit on here ,wich complained about spelling should use there own brain and listen to her.dont worry about her spelling.its your job to pick from her info what works for your dog.
