Hey guys! This calendar is an interesting one! I was sooo happy to get a few full size things and a lot of makeup! However, I do realize that I shouldn’t be so blown away by getting a full size item because you pay A LOT for these calendars and the least they can do is put one full size lipstick in them! I don't understand why companies don't realize that the total value of the box decreases with samples. The last couple of boxes you opened had a significantly lower value! Why don't they realize this decreases trust!! I'm happy mac stepped it up a little this year ☺️ love your videos
Its just BARELY worth the price imo. That hand full of full size products makes it hit the $100 mark. But it would only be worth it if you were someone who would actually enjoy and use the full size products that were included. I don't like sticky glosses. I would rather have full size lipsticks and delux sample glosses or a full size of that primer and a sample of that mascara. But at least they didn't repeat and give seven different primers. Those are just some nit picky things. Honestly they did good compared to other brands AND the colors all seemed to be relatively universal for fair to deeper skin tones. This is a good calendar in that sense.

I just like gloss lol stickiness never has bothered me but I don't actively seek out sticky gloss. That being said though if a gloss happens to be sticky I don't mind it at all.
Ugh I hate it. I have long blond hair and one gust of wind ruins everything. The feeling of having to peel of a strand of hair from your lips...bweuuk and then have that strand be the colour of your gloss for the rest of the day...

I love watching your channel I'm disabled, and even before we had this pandemic, I was staying home all of the time, trying to learn what my life was gonna be like now that I'm in a wheelchair full time and I'm a lot older than you, but I will say that you have helped me more than you could possibly understand you make me laugh, I can't wait to watch your videos and I learned how to make my makeup look even better and I get compliments when I go out, thank you so much for making an older woman laugh, especially one who is in a wheelchair now and stays home all the time. I truly do appreciate you, your humor, the way you treat people you can tell you have a great heart and an old soul.. Thank you for making my life a little brighter...
I always thought the point of the Advent Calendar was to get the best thing on the final day but that never seems to be the case with these! Seems like the companies mostly just try to get rid of old product and samples and make a profit on it 😒

Someone on another video pointed out that the best things are probably closer to day 1 bc if someone gave you this as a gift, if you opened one in front of them, it should look worth it to everyone involved bc you're probably not gonna call grandma or auntie 11 days later when the things aren't so great. $18 for an eyeshadow pot?!? Damn!! Are they even worth that? I know Mac was all the rage back in the day but is it still? I've also read that their quality has gone downhill in the past few years. Never bought anything from them but I do have their BB cream. It was my moms. Seeing how it's the only BB cream I've ever used I'm not sure if it's actually good. Hope that made sense, lol...
@@tammiemartinez6485 that's pretty standard price for a single. Not a lot of brands have them, and the ones that do are around the same price (urban decay and Lancome's are $22, nars are $19, abh are $12 but they are ment to be put in a palette)
Really loving all these videos! I have to say Huda has been the one i actually liked the most. Not a huge fan of her...but worth the 100$ because her products are usually expensive and they were all full size...except one.

Me too. For some reason these calendars aren’t a thing in my country, even though we have all the brands and companies that make them and the chocolate ones have always been around, but I watch every single one!
And they took off The West Wing!!!! The greatest show of all time. That and Friends were the two shows I would watch when I didn't know what to watch, and they're both gone.

My mom works at a lab. She told me that if my makeup (most likely lipsticks and lip glosses) smells like playdoh, then the formula is usually expired and the oils in the ingredients are bad. Not saying that your lipsticks are bad but I just wanted to say this for anyone to know!

I always think the last item should be extra special. The full sized lip stick should have been the last item in my opinion. Although this one is not bad as far as makeup Advent calendars go, I don't think the companies putting these calendars together "get" the spirit of the things. Its all about celebration, value and impressing your customer. Done correctly, the customer finds new products and becomes a new customer (or is renewed in their committment to the brand). Coming off as cheap, making people feel like they paid good money for overstocked items that didn't sell, or filling the calendars with "junk" will not win or keep customers. Just sayin.
So far the only advent calendar Ive seen anywhere that was worth the money was YesStyles calender. Theirs was $169 for value of $498 and had 24 actual full size items.
Well I use to sell mac and those are technically "travel sizes" the bullets are worth $12 a piece the glosses $18 the full size $24 the individual eyeshadows are $18 as well and then mascara is $24...not justifying the prices cause mac isn't that affordable even outside of an advent calendar but if your a mac fan it's a good deal

I used to work at MAC and most of these colors are hallmarks of the brand- staples we would sell through in high volume.

Mac had on sale a lipstick set of 5 colours said to be worth £95, but rrp was £55. It was on sale for £18.50. Imagine how much of a markup they must have if they can still make a profit at £18.50.
It's $100. I expect more than sample sizes, personally.
