So, a few years back, I had a very expensive French lingerie advent calendar bought for my Christmas present. He had spent around £5000! However, the company rang him and spent half an hour asking him everything from my sizes, to colour preferences, to the type of perfume I wore. It was totally customised to me and seriously beautiful. Most standard advent calendars rarely work ..... Wrong perfumes, wrong make-up colours, dark chocolate not milk etc. I would have been very disappointed with all of these shown.
By the way the porcelain tea light holders by themselves (not Dior) is around £20!

For the first time ever I've bought an advent calendar. It was from Zotters Chocolate. For the most part it was really good quality chocolate! And a good way to try out different flavors. I felt bad for spending so much money on it. But compared to the costs of these calendars I don't feel as bad for it anymore lol 😅😂.
You can actually reuse the calendar for other years and create your own advent calendar! Make it special and do your magic and make it for you and your family!! Happy Christmas Maples Family!!!
That is a good idea, you can make a wishlist and give someone the money to randomly choose 25 things from the list and pop them in the calendar for you.
The swarovski calendars baffle me each year.. They just seem such terrible value for money. They could've done such fun stuff with the Disney theme, yet they barely did anything creative and still added in generic non disney things.
I would be so disappointed with that box and all those ornament things. They looked like free stuff Swarovski would just give away, like something your coworker would give you as a lame christmas present.

Not at all justifying their products, but disney has extremely strict guidelines per business collaboration. I worked with them on multiple different brand products and it is INCREDIBLY difficult to move the needle on collections like this. I’m more shocked about the horrible quality control from Swarovski and that disney didn’t make sure their characters were printed perfectly.

I absolutely love the way Mia and Mamma Maples both say "Swar-vos-ki" instead of "Swar-ov-ski". I think I noticed it in their last advent calendar unboxing. I've never heard it pronounced that way and it just gives me so much joy and dopamine when they say it 😂❤

The money spent here could have changed peoples lives. They could have bought tents, sleeping bags, winter coats and warm socks and gifted them to homeless people, or bought Christmas presents for kids who's parents struggle with money at the moment - or both! - and done some actual good instead of funneling even more money to these awful brands. These thousands upon thousands of dollars spent here with taxes and shipping are ridiculous and could have done *a lot* of good. But no, they wanted to open advent calendars, but only open them. Not keep what was in them. Consumerism at its finest. First time I'm genuinely disappointed in Mia.

Well not every item is unpopular but a lot of them 😂 The parfums are all really good personally for me - just the Oud ones are horrible

Probs because mia will make up the money she lost so shes not affected by it but any other person wasting that much money would be rightfully disappointed.
In the one I watched before I saw Mia open hers, some of the ornaments with the characters’ faces on them were printed in the wrong colors, like all of them were slightly pink/purple. It’s also just strange to me that it’s a “Disney” box but almost half the ornaments have nothing to do with Disney.
I think it’s honestly bc some were discolored. So far as far as I am in the video Mia didn’t get the mess ups like Cherry for ex
Charlotte tillbury one was the only one that's worth it. it provided all the basics that you need for makeup(besides foundation and concealer and stuff that you need to pick individually for your skin complexion) so if someone wants to get into Charlotte tillbury or just high end makeup, this will be a perfect thing to buy. props to them!!!

My mom had a Hallmark store growing up and was known as “the queen of gifts,” and she always talked about one sided ornaments being shoddy and poorly designed. At least make it reversible so it can be placed wherever on the tree or display and it won’t show an unornamented back side! Any time I see something like that I instinctively hiss, channeling the spirit of my mother. 😂

This is by far one of my favorite advent calendar videos this season. Mama Maples has the best responses and the Dior advent calendar is silly and extra. I would totally make that Dior box into something else, it’s the best part of the experience.
The Charlotte Tilbury one was definitely the only one that was worth the price + the products are so nice
Not sure about worth the price, lol, I get their Christmas release Lip kit every year and last yr it came W a pencil, a lipstick, a lip balm, and the gloss she had in hers all for $28. The yr before it was 3 or 4 different special release shades of the Pillow Talk lipstick with a pencil and something else, I can't remember what though, for about $25... So, they do have Christmas specials and I feel like the price tag on the calendar can be beat of you find their Christmas sets. I absolutely love her lipsticks, well worth the price and I tried her pillow talk pallet finally over the summer on sale for $40. Lol, being ya know, broke in this economy, 😂 I think you can absolutely do better price wise if you are good at sale hunting and patient enough to wait. Her products are Def worth the price, but also worth the wait when it goes on sale or they have special releases 😊

For $5,400 I would NOT expect to get that many candles … let alone 1 candle 😮 Definitely not worth it. You got lucky with the Disney 100 one. Another influencer opened her box and had to get a full refund because the Minnie, Donald and Daisy were all defected in the colorings. For some reason instead of them having red, white and black colors on them they have pink, purple and white.

Me from Austria (swarovski is owend by german speaking) can tell you that it is called Swarovski and it is quite popular at our country but still no one likes their stuff too much because it is so expensive and still not too pretty. So I also dislike the content of the calendar. Just not worth it..

I’m sorry you guys feel that way, but I completely disagree, I love Mama Maples. Not only is Mama Maples her mother, but she’s apart of her team now. Regardless, she brings a huge smile to my face, just like Mia does ☺️
I was watching this video and my brother who was cooking in the kitchen came in and commented on how he loved Mama maples and Mia's interactions and relationship. He thought it was very sweet. It's so true though. I don't just love You Tubers, we often love their parents too and I do also think it's very sweet with You Tubers include their parents (if they have a good relationship) as they can be a part of what their kids are doing. :-)
I personally would prefer the Dior perfumes & serums over the ridiculous overpriced candles and nail polish. Honestly when you priced out everything I was literally shocked on how much you're actually losing. Now we know why they have to actually confirm the purchase. Shame on you Dior! Anyone else remember the girl last year who had an advent calendar from either Chanel or Dior and she was getting just the candle lid on some of the days and I think she even got a hair clip one day too. This Dior one is reminding me of that.

your relationship with your mother is beautiful, watching your love for each other is so healing. my mom passed in 2020 and it’s hard finding anything that’ll comfort that pain like your channel does. me and my mother had a relationship like yours, we were the bestest of friends and loved to do the silliest stupidest things together. the love between a mother and a daughter is otherworldly, my mom isn’t physically here anymore but i still feel her love everywhere i go. please never stop doing what you do.

Hi Mia, the Dior advent calendar is full of perfumes because it's the La Collection Privée trunk (one of their perfume lines). There's another trunk called Le 30 Montaigne which is cheaper and contain a more diverse range of Dior products.
No it's not.... Le 30 Montaigne is a selection of 4 miniatures... Also 2 parfums, one red lipstick and 1 serum.

I am so glad to see that I'm not really missing out on anything with these high dollar advent calendars. I haven't seen one yet on any channel that I thought was worth the price. I expected so much more from them! Thanks for showing us and saving us from wasting our money.

I've seen at least 2 other creators get that one, and immediately they returned it due to the quality control issues!

@@heatherva The images are printed backward. Mia didn't show the back of the piece, so it just looked like Minnie silhouettes. But, if she had turned the piece around, it would've shown the Minnie heads with the bows were printed with colour on the flat side! They're facing the wrong way!

My friend bought me the premium Rituals advent this year. It turns into a holiday village that lights up. You get about $300 worth of products for under $200. This might be one to do next year. And I 100% will be using the village again next year.
