Thanks for watching! :-)
The click bait is strong with this one 🤦♂️
Buy a new coat mate
You 2 bud🙈🙈🙈🙈
Yo it's a nice coat mate
I feel like that might have been an over reaction.
Nice clickbait. Turned off after a minute
a lot of them blow up after the recall bc toyota techs never work on boxers and tend to screw up the heads
Should've gone for the BRZ lol - I'm presuming Subaru definitely know what to do otherwise there's a problem...
Clickbait much? Over reaction much? Just book the car into Toyota for the recall. You’ll start putting off subscribers with videos like this.
Forget your toyota what about those trainers i love them. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
0:08 'This isn't ideal'.......agreed! - you shouldn't have to use a big stick to hold the bonnet up in this day and age.
Weight saving
Get your number plate HOLES fixed 😂👍
Assumption is a dangerous word when buying a 2nd car, especially when the last service was done by Halfords, that well known motor service authority??? Whoops....££££££☹️
Just do a sump and oil pickup clean about 50km after recall just to be safe. In South Africa we have seen that dealers put excess silicone on timing cover when sealing engine again, this causes silicone to get into the engine which can cause rod knock or running a bearing
Storm in a tea cup 🙄
Every car brand in the world has got faster and better in the last 30 years......except Toyota
Faster, maybe. "Better" is subjective.
No point cancelled Coronavirus !
The funny thing is the failure rate is spiked by addressed recalls. There are so many things that can go wrong when they take apart the engine. There are non recalled 200k mile BRZs/86s rolling with no issues.
The issue affected such a small number of vehicles but enough to warrant Subaru to issue the recall. You dont need to get it done, from memory the failure rate is 0.02% and isn't just BRZ/86 but also other FA20 & FB20 engined cars.
So, U got a Sports coupe to drive daily so that your family hatchback can be kept in the garage for weekend drives?
Shouldn't it be the other way around?
Kinda defeats the purpose of getting a family hatchback in the first place if you ask me?
w00t777 exact same as I thought, confusing...
the "family hatchback" is double or more like triple the price and much more costly per mile in terms of fuel and depreciation
Make sure you take it to the most reputable dealership you can. Big job, lots can go wrong. Have been a few (rare) cases of engines failing after rebuild.
Well now that the motor show is cancelled...
Is it dead? Dya think it’s dead?
NEXT VIDEO i HAVE SOLD THE TOYOTA
Oh no that’s not good, glad you’re getting it fixed and hope it’s all ok after. Ignore the negative comments on this video Luke, I thought it was very interesting and informative. 😎👍🏻 Enjoy your trip. 👌🏻
The recall was the entire reason I avoided 2013s... That among some other quirks. 2015 gang
Only the 2013 model year was recalled
Awesome channel thank you
Got my recall done last week it only took 2 days so it sad to hear that u have to wait a week I agree about getting it done before a big trip tho
You've nothing to worry about, not one in the UK has had issues BEFORE the recall
Did he mention he was going somewhere? Europe was it? I can’t quite remember. Hope it’s a one way ticket!
U jealous clown ian chambers
Ben Moss haha nope! Got my own M140i and it hasn’t got godawful stripes down the side of it 😂
Gunna have to take my M240 for an evening spin now after watching this :)
Problem source: slow, 160whp and still overpriced trash.
bmw cars lol feel so lame XD
I would like to hear how you feel about driving those 2 cars and which one you prefer.
I wouldn't have a mountain bike serviced at Halfrauds.... Never mind a car!
And I used to work there, so I know what goes on...
I have a gt86 in Argentina. Luckily my car is out of danger in terms of recall. Here, its more dangerous to take it to the recall. Cars are blowing up after being recalled because of poor skilled mechanics at the dealers.
I had the recall done in October 2019, it's nothing to worry about. I kept driving it daily until it got done, then I've done the same since.
Good channel. I also have a blue m140 AND a Toyota IQ for my massive committee to work. Both my favourite cars ever... attainable cars
A lot of words for little to no information and repetition.
SHORT ANSWER OF VIDEO. VALVE SPRING RECALL. oh and he’s going Europe.
Drop a Built EJ Motor in it & go full send 🤙
Sometimes they dont even bother taking the engine apart, if they order one in from the factory they just drop a whole new unit in.
I did the valve springs at 62'000miles. I never had any issues before and after the recal. And i drove it really hard.(20'000miles "Touge")
It took them two days of work.
Dont be worried.
My GT86 runs even better than before😉
They customized the software to my K&N air filter and the Remus exhaust.
The car sounds now incredibly good.
Just do it!!!
A car with more miles on it isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Yes from a depreciation point of view but most mechanics would rather have a car that is 5 years old with 80,000 miles rather than 5 years old and 18,000 miles.
As for The GT86 this unfortunate. Just shows the benefits of going to the main dealer Dosent it.. perhaps the recall would have been done if it went to the main dealer last time. Also, you’re more likely to get a goodwill gesture outside of warranty if something that shouldn’t really go wrong at a certain age/mileage does go wrong if you have full dealer history, even if you do have to pay a premium for it in the first place. Truth is, they know the car best. They have access to information, updates and recalls directly from the factory as soon as they are acknowledged
What a beast mate, nowadays brands are making non-exciting shit cars... good m140i👌🏼 I dont like bmw’s interiors but thats my opinion, never mind. You made a good decision!!
Greetings from Spain!🚀🔥
Valve spring issue is very rare to happen as in engine exploding BUT it can. Most Toyota dealers do this for free and get a service at the same time I believe. Toyota may give you a loan car while they repair it.
Well Lukes next YT video has just been canned as the Geneva Motor Show has been cancelled, because of the Covid-19 bug.
Normally enjoy the content but thought this was a little boring
Not a dig just a opinion this time
Luke can you do a sound of the cobra ppf delete in comfort and sport, but without the traction trick? 👍🏻
Sure I read the Geneva motor show is now cancelled for the time being?😂
Major recall, yet you didn't think to ask if it had been done?
Motor show is cancelled mate
Love how you started the video.
Get a job
Hardly trusty then! You ASSUMED it had been done Makes an ASS out of U and ME!! I would be suprised if Toyota would honour the recall after its been serviced at halfords
Far more cars appear to have experienced engine problems/failure as a result of the recall, rather than not having it done. Failures seemed to have particularity effected cars which had it done early on, presumably because the dealers were less familiar with the procedure then. It's also a case of Toyota techs having to work on an engine that's largely designed/made by Subaru. Still probably best to get it done and you will get a warranty for the work (a year I think). May be worth asking on the GT86 forums if there any particular dealers they would recommend for the work.
Has he sold the golf r ?
Months ago where you been😂
Nah it’ll be alright! Would make good content if it went whilst you were out there. Downside of a boxer though, heads are in the wrong place.. engine out 😩😂
I ... assume ... you are going to loose quite a few subscribers after this video ...
He gets new subscribers every week bud🙈🙈
People said that after selling golf r and still gained subscribers👍
Why would he loose subscribers after this video its a good video??
vincentAD how does that contradict what I said? Loosing some existing subscribers does not mean that new ones are not coming.
Matus Kalisky why would he loose subscribers from this video youve lost me????
No need for negative comments👍
I had a new 1981 Toyota Corolla xx 5 speed manual from new. Wrong piston rings. Many cars like this. The oil consumption tests drove me insane when they knew. So to make it happen we had to drain some oil and complain to head office. Sour taste in my experience.
Hope you have a great trip.... take care and avoid anyone coughing or sneezing....
Get on the corona hype train. This is almost as big as the MKV.
TOYOTA..... need say more
SUBARU, say no more!
At least you have a better car to drive on your road trip. My R26 was at the workshop for 3 weeks getting a few major jobs done so I had to drive my B5 RS4 which is great to drive but terrible on fuel like I mean really terrible !! Around town 15mpg on the motorway 22ish
I drove my BRZ for 2 years after getting a letter for the recall. I just had faith in my car and she kept going. But then I just did the recall.
Looking forward to seeing how the project develops! 8:27 cracked me up, I drive mostly lanes so I share the pain and surprise of people cutting corners like that 😂
If you are looking to fit a turbo I noticed the AVO stage 3 kit from fensport uk looks really nice but, as kits are, expensive. 4K for the kit, 8K once you include the extras to get it to be really nice (2K for 3” exhaust with cat, 500 for turbo retune, pressure sensors and upgrades clutch etc, it all adds up).
I’ve been looking it up as I was planning to get a BRZ/86 like this for the exact same project car reason (which is why I’m excited to see what direction you take yours).
I was wondering if you could offer some advice. I noticed you have been careful to not mention price (understandable), but I was wondering if you have a ball park figure (or range ) for a similar spec vehicle? I’ve seen a couple of good listings but I’m trying to work out whether to jump on it. Would you say a 2012 age, 20-35K mileage, would you expect this to be about 11.5-12k?
Toyota's never go wrong 🙈
*always
This engine is mostly Subaru so
Bmw>vw>basically any other car brand> everything else in the world> toyota
its dangerous to drive in Europe with the wheel on the wrong side
No one cares lad
