I'm Polish and I was laughing and crying at the same time when I saw how you cooking Pierogi 😂 (btw in polish "pierogi" is a plural form, in polish singular form is a "pieróg", but english poeple got "pierogi" as singular form to english language and they created plural form "pierogies" what in polish means something like "a tons of pierogi" 😂
6:51 You can peel the potatoes before mashing them, you know. 😅 (upd. Sorry. I didn't know you prefer it that way.) Also, too much filling, you can take smaller portions. And you might like to experiment and try them fried vs not fried (just boiled). They have a different taste. Oh, so many flavors, so many spices you can add... That's an endless field for research.
This recipe was a trainwreck and i enjoyed it very much (For the dough, check the percentage (in weight) of water the recipe asks. Then, start with something like a fifth less and add more with teaspoons if you feel its too dry. If theres fat in the mixture, usually its better to use colder water)
Well they aren't that bad lol If you want to make a good looking pierog You need to put the stuffing with small spoon on the centre and stick edges together Don't overfill them I'm Polish btw
i like itttt!! art tip, for your opening, youre cutting off the tip of your head and showing a bunch of the table! tilt it up a little so we dont get that "tension"
As person from Poland i have to say that im always happy to see Polish refrences especialy in game i love. One note. WHY YOU USED SHAMPOO TO FINISH YOUR DISH?!?!😂
Tbh i think your dst cooking videos are very entertaining, also for the dough part you wanna add flour to the surface you have your dough on before you actually put the dough on it and get your hands and rolling pin covered in flour during the process. So yeah to put it simply I think you just didn't use enough flour but using the methods i've listed you should have a better time.
note from a graduated medical lab technician buter is actually healthy in moderation cooking oil has high levels of oxidation wich causes inflation wich leads to damage in the body and causes high blood pressure and later diabetes the praplom with butter on the other hand is that it has milk solids (milk proteins) wich tend to burn so for frieng something that take high heat use clarified butter wich consists of just the milk fat
Pierogis should take like 4x as long in-game to cook because whenever I make them, it's literally all day 😅 They should also be renamed to pelmeni since they have to have meat in them lol
The dough looks atrocius as a polish person I can tell you that and you had all the proper ingidience for a dough too. Still that they didn't burst during cooking is admirable
They’re still a hundred times healthier than the garbage and factory sludge most Americans eat. Also you’re supposed to cover absolutely everything in flour BEFORE you start kneading the dough.
is your pocketing skills any good? no (respectfully), but i would imagine its quite lore accurate since i cannot picture someone like wilson having a talent in pierogi making. he probably was just sick of meatballs and and bored, so he tried to cook a dish he vaguely heard about, butchering the recipe in the process lol also, varenyky with cherries are heavenly. highly recommend, if you're ever be up to it again.
Yep! I want to create absolutely every dish from both don't starve and don't starve together in this way! I will have to improvise for some of the unobtainable/immoral recipes, but most should be very lore accurate!
you added wather to buter dumy!!! I make pierogis realy often and i can say that sousage is awfle you can make pierogis with meet rusian pierogis with chese and mashed potatos and pierogis with cabage other combination are not that good
Fun fact: It's not "Pierogis". It's "Pierogi" the word Pierogi is already plural, singular would be "Pieróg" coming from the polish language Remember to never put s in your pierogi
Comparing to the original they are disgusting xD 1st of all you dont add butter but other kind of oil like rapeseed oil. Although I dont mind you adding butter it is just oil -you dont add eggs to the dough -the sausages looks disgusting and you dont even add them to the original filling (assuming you make the "russian" filling). You can add fried lard as a garnish at the end instead (its so fucking good) -peel the potatoes before you boil them pls -you use white cheese (something like a quark) not normal cheese -you also can add glazed onion either to the filling and/or as a garnish -they look like they are regurgitated but how they look shouldn't change the taste so i guess its fine -the sour cream looks like mayo, why is it not more like wet or something -you dont need to fry the on a pan. I presonally like them freshly boiled and if there are any leftover then i fry them.
I based the recipe off of the in-game recipe, not a real life recipe. Meat & eggs are required on the in-game recipe which is why they were added to the dish, also I enjoy eating potato skins which is why I do not peel them
+37.5 hunger +40 health +5 sanity +100 polishness
