I make almond milk once a week. The key is to pre-soak the almonds at least eight hours, preferably 12 hours, then rinse away the slag. The soaking process releases the bitterness, thus increasing your ability to digest the fat. Nut bags are highly recommended. They are tough and reusable. Cheese cloths will take longer since you must wait for the milk to strain.

Love the Blendtec blender! I use it every day to make smoothies. I also make almond milk every few days. Please consider making a Blendtec strainer/press as an optional add-on purchase, something similar to the KitchenWize food strainer (on Amazon), but with Blendtec's sturdy high quality. Something designed like a French press would be terrific since it could be done quickly and easily with one press instead of the mess of dealing with nut milk bags. This is the best blender I've ever owned! Thank you for the long-lasting great product!

@suzin512 It won't change the flavor very much. You could make it without salt, try it and if you feel like it needs the salt just pour the milk back in the blender, add salt, and press pulse a few times.

I soak the nuts overnight to reduce the Phytic Acid. Just google it if you want to know why. I also put any additional ingredients (vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate, honey, etc) in after I've I strain it.

There is NO need to add salt or agave. If you buy organic raw "alive" almonds that have NOT been steam pasteurized, the taste will be plenty sweet. Raw almond milk is a great source of Nitric Oxide which is a vasodilator -- a healthier alternative to Viagra :-)
