  • Almond milk is a great dairy-free nut milk and it's incredibly easy to make at home. It's healthier than many store-bought options (no gums or chemicals) and all you need are almonds, water and a blender. That's it!
The best almonds for homemade almond milk are organic, raw almonds. Almonds are nutrient-dense and have many health benefits. From there, you can add a sweetener of your choice, a pinch of sea salt and vanilla extract if you'd like. Enjoy!

Hi guys! I get asked all of the time if the process to make almond milk is the same as cashew milk (my personal favorite). And there is a slight difference. So today I wanted to show you how to make almond milk at home! If this is your nut milk of choice, now you won't have to buy it from the store again. Happy Sunday! xo - Lisa

Mother taught me to boil the almonds on heat, takes 15 mins.
They peal instantly after cooling down
It's better to peal them you know, almonds skin is kind of hard on our system

I recently poured a cup of almond mylk into my glass, then read the ingredients: 1.5g of fat. I was like, 'What?? So what makes this cup of mylk so thick?" It's gotta be the guar gum and xanthan gum. Blew my mind. No wonder home-made tastes and feels soooo much better.

The childs brain needs breast milk fat for the brain to grow in the first 3 years. It does the most growing and neural connections in that time. Extremely important! No nut milk substitute. Talk to pediatrician first. U dont want her not to get the proper brain nutrition. U could effect her brain development.

Thank you Lisa for this video and for sharing your recipe! I made almond milk for vegan guests and they loved it. Even Hubby G, who loves cow's milk, preferred it. This almond milk will be a new staple in our house and may even replace regular milk. Some observations: I used two pitted dates and found it a smidge too sweet.
(I was the only one with this opinion).
Also, I used cheesecloth because I don't have a nut milk bag and it was a bit hard to keep the cheesecloth in my hands after it got wet. I will definitely be purchasing a nut milk bag for ease of squeezing. This milk is so easy to make and I'm so glad I know exactly what I'm putting into my body. Thanks again!

Why not go ahead and take a little pain(extra time) in peeling the skin off, of the plumped almonds which comes off easily, that way there will be no need to strain the residue.
I do it, so thought of suggesting.

Actually if u peel the skin n then blend n strain .the pulp which remains can be added to a banana or apple n again use little water to make a great shake .
If u r using apple add cinnamon n jaggery powder for sweetness .
N in Banana use pinch cardamom powder .Tastes really good .

I started making my own milks and creams when I didn't like the "natural ingredients" or HEK-293 commercial companies began putting in their products. This has been a wonderful experience. My favorite is Brazil nut milk. I got the nuts at Trader Joe's. I used the recipe for almond milk with the milk-nut-bag process.
I also make the creamer and add Nielson-Massey peppermint or orange extract to flavor it.

Enjoyed your version and this video! I have not made it in a while but I used the bag of Trader Joe’s raw sliced almonds ( without the outside casing) soaked over night then only used water. I baby my nut bag. lol Love it. I can only handle this home-made almond milk as it does not have all that extra ingredients in carton. I use a Vitamix but before that used just a regular bar blender. Vitamix does a superb job! Note that I find mine is good for three days and I use a large mason jar with the plastic white lids for my almond milk.
I am thrilled to know that there is something I can make with the left over almond pulp! Back then, I could not find recipes. Will look into yours! ❤️🙏🏻

Thanks! We love almond milk many different ways. Since we make so often I have a couple tricks I use. First measure what your soaked almonds come to, about 2 cups. I then soak a whole Costco bag, rinse, and freeze. Since I know the measurement I just scoop out and add water. It keeps it colder also. If you want to use right away use less water and blend. Add ice to chill and blend for a short time, cold milk! Thanks again for all your great recipies!

Hi. Thanks for the video. I'm new to this and was wondering if anyone could tell me why shop bought almond milk all seems to have just 2% almonds in them?

What is the lifetime of almond milk once prepared? Could anyone answer this please?

Has anyone dried the pulp and then made almond butter? It seems a waste to discard the pulp.

    • @magnetar2524
      @magnetar2524 4 роки тому +2

Sherwood Cosmo/Healthcare almond butter requires the whole roasted almonds cause of the oil/fat content in the almond. I heard you can make almond meal or flour out of the remaining pulp but I’ve never tried it. You can always throw it in your garden for compost.

I remember many years ago making almond milk by blanching and removing the almond skins, straining in a clean pair of nylons (remember those?). This is quite a bit easier...thanks for sharing. My VitaMix comes tomorrow-I’m a bit excited!

Thank you for making this my market has raw almonds. I’m thinking of making at home almond milk with my mom, or dad. I actually like having my milk with oatmeal.

Ok, we can also say for dairy “cow’s lactation with pus and other unnatural elements to feed our body”. I can’t understand this issue that people have with the word...do some real research on milk and what’s really in it for you if you continue to drink it and don’t worry that much with words...health is more important than that

Just made it and used coconut sugar as a sweetener. It was soooo good and the best part: I knew what went in it and it was only 2 ingredients! Almond and coconut sugar 😍 I forgot to add the salt and it was still great!

Vitamix? Lmao I bought a 1970's blender from a garage sale for $3. Works just fine for making oat or almond milk. Makes a great base for smoothies. Keep shifting down my lady!
