The lagging maybe. The crashing is just because it is a pretty buggy program sadly. :( I've always had pretty high end hardware, never really experience much lag but it crashes so often every time I try to use it, mostly use Krita for animation now.
Am I the only one who never gets crashes in OpenToonz? I run it on an old workstation with quad channel memory from 2011. Virtually everything after is dual channel unless you have threadripper.
@@FelixTheAnimator Would be an interesting thing to test. Have you ever run it on something else? Don't think I have my old server hardware anymore. Just an old Ryzen 1800x/1080TI/32GB ram desktop build and my newer laptop which is Ryzen 7940HS and 4090 with 32GB ram which are both dual channel. When using Windows I experience pretty regular crashes on both of these. A little less if I use Tahoma2D though, not sure what that's about. I also experience less if I use Linux. It is like if I try to use it on my Laptop in Windows, I just crash too much to even know why. But in those other scenarios it is more like I only crash if I try to use certain features, or if I get into certain setups.
Please give a suggestion blender grease pencil vs opentoonz which one is best for 2d animation video I am planning to create and post on animation videos UA-cam
@@successspotu I've used Opentoonz so I'm a little biased, but for good reason 'Open toonz 2d character rigging feature and the fact it still getting updated'
u can use both in a workflow u kno. blender grease pencil -color multiple frames at once -merge 2d and 3d -easier interpolation (i guess) opentoonz -also color multiple frames at once -better coloring tools
It depends on your needs - are you going for frame by frame? - you want a 3D space for more flexibility? - you want to combine both 2D and 3D? just tell me your needs, I will help...
heck yeah. is this a ne feature ? otherwise. Can't believe i never looked for this earlier. As i like paper drawing way more than tablet drawing. (at least i have way more years of experience in it)
btw. Your art and lines are getting really friggin good 👌
My opentoonz keeps crashing and lagging, i can barely get anything done😭. But i realized it's probably because of my potato PC
I run in 2gb ram amd a4 3000 processer

Doesn't really matter. The best one is whichever works for you. Blenders 2d animation ion 3d space might be confusing though.
