This was such a good video! I never thought to use gradient mapping in animation, but seeing you color drop using the grayscale in the subview made me realize how much quicker coloring alone could be!
My problem is I like to use vectors to draw my animations but I like to do it frame by frame. So I basically draw each frame in Illustrator and have to paste it somewhere else with a frame animation tool such as photoshop to see it animation. This is super slow though. I can't find a workflow for this and its holding me back as an animator.
oo interesting! clip studio paint has vector layers that can be used for animation but it’s not as robust compared to illustrator.. for vector animation i usually import it to after effects to animate
