Mostly because I'm overcomplicating since I want to use a pen though. I do have a super old LG OLED TV that supports passive 3d though. Looks very cool what you've done. One thing I've always struggled with is finding a good control scheme, but I guess supersizing everything does the trick. If you have a VR headset there are ways to do it in there, which seems much less cumbersome.

So I’m sitting here watching this video and I have an idea and I’m not 100% sure if it will work but what if you took the guts of a 3DS and modified the motherboard to output to both screens and then, as far as the analog stick goes a.k.a. the circle pad you just make a bigger version of that and then, as far as the buttons go, grab some switches, some big switches, and just wire those switches to the button inputs, and then you will be able to play your physical games as well as digital games
12:06 disabling upscaling reduces input delay significantly (but there's still going to be a few ms of delay) This shouldn't be an issue, but as you probably saw for yourself, Citra is a bunch of barely functional spaghetti code.
While watching, I was getting inspiration of doing it at home, but the touch screen was meh...till you mentioned the steam deck! Perfect~ Ima look into this more and try to do it myself!

One fun fact though is on the canary version of Citra, it does allow for home menu support AND suspension but it would mean you would have to dump all of the 3ds software using godmode9. It's not that hard and there are videos on youtube to do it. Once you get the home menu working, you can set a control for the home button and the game you're playing should suspend!
I actually dumped it a few moths ago and got the home screen working. It just freezes up whenever I start up the homescreen now. Maybe I’ll give it another shot soon.

With rhythm games for emulation I've had to change audio settings to make sure there is no added audio buffering which delays the entire emulation
I tried fiddling with the settings for hours. No luck :(
