I just bought a used 2017 Lexus IS200t F-Sport a month ago with 15k miles for $30,600 after taxes which I saved around $18k over a new one. Very smooth car & worth every penny! Much better than my previous 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6.
I still cant believe how far this channel has come I remember when you were just making videos of whatever car that was available at the dealership and everything was biased and now its factual, unbiased, popular cars and it makes me happy for some reason
Been driving my NX200t f sport for over a week now and day by day i fall in love with it, its my first mid size luxury suv jumping from BMW 5 series, the car itself has stylish look and features which you don't get from other comparators. It's definitely an eye catcher when you're driving around you either gonna love it or hate it. Apart from looking sharp its almost $5k cheaper compare to other rivals.
Very "un-lexus like" I HATE when reviewers act like Lexus hasn't made a great handing cars before. The 1999 V8 GS400 won sport sedan of the year. The 2002 IS300 came 5 speed manual LSD that was a hoot to drive. fast forward to 2008 Lexus dropped the V8 ISF high performance sedan and now a WHOLE F line of performance cars. Not even infiniti or acura have more performance cars then Lexus This is 2016 going to 2017 stop living in the 1997 Lexus has been making great driving cars for some time now.
Derric J I've been driving my x6m for 3 plus years all I did is oil change, I just think people who complain about BMW drives them without warranty and rarely do maintenance care every car has its short comings, they all break but I think reliability depends on its owners ability to maintain the vehicle.
iGamester21 there's a thing called extended warranty, and further more I would never drive any vehicle without warranty, and like I said before BMW only gets a bad reputation because a majority of moronic folks who don't understand BMW drives them under heavy operations rack up the mileage ignore the maintenance and then cries like a bitch when it breaks, every car breaks, do you think Lexus is cheap when it breaks???? They very pricey on oem parts plus not to mention their dealership service, BMW gets a lot of hatred because people that buy them used simply cannot afford to keep up with the maintenance, bottom line they are premium cars that should only be driven by people who knows that they are an investment machine, so if your not planning to invest into a BMW per miles service intervals don't fucking buy one used with high mileage and then beat it up some more, just stick to the Honda Nissan Lexus those are all over the place because they are cheap.
Don't waste your time arguing with people in the 'toyota/lexus is the best because reliability, everything else breaks down as soon as it leaves the dealership' cult. They are fanboys for a reason. Hope you're enjoying that X6M tho 👍🏼
im lexus owner, what lexus need is new engines lineup, 3.5 is outdated and outperformed by all competitors, 2.0 is too underpwered, and the 5.0 is too expensive, they need to introduce 3.0 turbo or twin turbo charged engine with good torque and horsepower around 360 to 370, it will make their cars top notch in every aspects, I wished the new infiniti engine would be from lexus, they need something similar
I second that. I know it's the wave of the future, but I'm not convinced. Every time I drive some two-point-oh-tee, just as I get to thinking "This isn't so bad," I get back into a V6 or V8 and fall back in love. There's no replacement for displacement! Plus, leatherette? No, not for almost $50k.
Lol this is no LFA. Sure for a race car or a focused sporty car that's perfect. For me, having to whip the engine to get appreciable motion doesn't suit a luxury sedan. High-strung isn't the right disposition for this kind of car.
Agreed! I drive a 2015 V6 Camry which is my first car that isn't a 4-cylinder & it sounds way better than every turbo 4 & I never want to go back to a 4-cylinder.
240hp moving a 3,500 lb car isn't too exciting. Just gave back a GS200t after 3 days and 150 miles of driving (prior I drove the GS350 for a couple days). No doubt the GS350 is a much better all-around performer. But unless you get the F series, what you're left with is an excellent boulevard cruiser that has its moments regarding handling. But its priority (IMO) is being a luxurious boulevard cruiser with quick acceleration (the GS200t was a quick mover but you can hear and feel the engine pulling while the GS350 moved effortlessly). Bottom line: Between a GS350, BMW 5 series, Audi A6 and Caddy CTS, The 5 series has a firmer ride, the CTS does corners very well and both the GS350 and A6 would be your boulevard cruisers. I'd take the GS350 for stop-n-go traffic and long drives. Toss the coin between the CTS and BMW if you often drive canyon roads.
I'm very surprised that you said something good about Lexus. You always talk crap about Lexus and Infiniti but think Acura is doing a great job. Nice review by the way.
Lexus--your buying reliability not just the badge that’s why resale value of this thing is phenomenal and you could sold it the next few hours after posting online, overall great review 😉
I like how thorough these reviews are, and I like the subjective opinions regarding the driving impressions. Constructively, noting that an aspect of the car (especially the interior) is "class competitive" doesn't provide much more information than "meh". Especially in contrast to the insights provided regarding driving impressions, which is very clearly your forte.
We understand that "class competitive" doesn't mean much, especially if you never spend time in vehicles this size. However, it's very difficult to tell you in a video just how roomy the inside feels, that will be different for every person. We can think the inside feels spacious but to someone who is larger, they'll think it feels cramped. At that point, we really encourage you to test drive one and sit inside it yourself, especially when it comes time for you to decide which one to purchase.
+Redline Reviews I understand, and I realize that extending an opinion on everything is unnecessary, but again what I (and I suspect others) come to your channel for is subjectivity. I value and expect your unique perspective, based on your broad experience. Viewers can get the stats and specs from many other channels. If a trunk or whatever feels roomy to you, it would be truer in form to share that, regardless of the facts or figures. You're an expert, not a reporter. Thank you for your reply, and for the great reviews.
+Frank Hujsa Thank you for that. I'll be sure to keep what you said in mind for future reviews. Usually, I mention of cramped an interior feels to me, especially since I'm a "small" guy. The GS just had that typical spacious feel that you get from any midsize sedan. I will be uploading the Lexus IS300 review soon and I talk about how "spacious" the interior feels more in detail.
May I ask why you called the Es a gussied up Camry? The only thing they share is the engine. Other than that the Es is a completely different car. Much nicer and for its price it's so luxurious. And at the end it's a Lexus. And don't tell me other wise cause I own a 2016
The current generation Lexus ES has really moved to the Avalon in size, which is still a Camry underneath. They aren't bad cars, but at the end of the day, the ES is still a front-drive car with the same engine and transmission out of your neighbors Camry for nearly $10,000 more. Yes, Lexus offers a few extras you can't get on the Toyota and its own somewhat unique design, but when you spend a lot of time checking out the competition, it's tough not to look at the ES as a fancy Camry. I feel the same way with the 2017 TLX, but Acura does go a bit further to differentiate it from an Accord with a unique drivetrain and more power. To each their own, the ES is not a bad car, but it's not a car I would personally own. -Sofyan
+Redline Reviews ok sure who am I to tell you what to like? But if you want my honest opinion the tlx is trash compared to the accord. I would take a touring accord over it any day. So if it is trash compared to the accord it is def trash compared to the Es. Cause believe it or not es oozes luxury for its price. And like I said other then engine and transmission the Es is truly not a gussied up Camry. And it's is def much better than your Miata.
Avalon and ES have the same engine, transmission, suspensions, and chassis. They are pretty much identical except the Avalon has more luxurious interior.
I'm not sure about the 2.0t, but I'm pretty sure you can get tri-zone climate control in the GS. That's what that empty rectangle in the rear seat armrest is for.
+occckid123 True, I think it's a lot, but that's like $20 a month. You also get status update, and GPS location from anywhere. I wonder if my car insurance can give me a discount for having these features.
+Tushar Bulsara that's what I would think. a Co worker just picked up a new lexus gx a d she said she can't start her car unless she has the subscription and it's on her phone
The interior of that GS looks phenomenal. I mean I still think Lexus has really nice interiors compared to Infiniti or Acura in my opinion, and their exterior designs are even better as well. Plus, Lexus has that bulletproof reliability for their brand. I’m sad that other European luxury brands do not focus on this, and it’s a reason why I want to buy a Lexus car compared to any other luxury car. This GS will last you years and even after many miles, I’m sure the engine and transmission and everything in the car will still feel amazing. Lexus is my favourite Japanese luxury brand all around.
If Lexus would throw a turbo on their 3.5L V6 it would seriously compete with the 5 series, Cadillac CTS, and Audi A6 3.0t. It already has the looks inside and out (IMO) just needs more balls. That black and dark brown interior is absolutely gorgeous!
While $51k is a lot of coin for this car, even in it's lightly optioned form, it still comes equipped better than 528i or E300 at this level, which also starts out with pleather virtually no driver-assistance tech. Only the A6 and CTS seem to offer a little more standard equipment for similar money. Still, I'd be hard-pressed to take a 2.0T over the tried and true 350. The 200t simply doesn't offer the performance of the underrated German 4cyls or the torque-rich GM 2.0T. Also, that drone and exhaust note is DOA for me on a test drive. If that doesn't do it, then it would be the spindle grille, which will not age as well as most competitors. Still, one can not argue the resale value this thing will have down the line. And then there is the legendary Lexus reliability. But the Lexus still doesn't move the needle in the class as it should.
Lexus is Lexus regardless of the model I started with GS300, RX300 Harrier, RX300, RX450H, IS250 my least favourite and currently got GS450H to commute to work 40 miles return. I currently owed RX450H( family car) and GS450H.
Last year I test drove the GS350 F Sport and a BMW 550i M Sport, ended up going with the BMW. Deciding factors was more power (V8), heads-up display, soft-close doors, & etc
Actually the GSF is to compete with the M5, CTS-V, etc. The GSF is down on power, but it is more fun than most cars in the category as mentioned by anyone who's reviewed it. The GSF competes power-wise, but the F was never intended to compete with the 550.
We always prefer the sportiest and most fully equipped vehicle, but sometimes the press fleet in our area just doesn't have one available. This is what Lexus had in our local fleet, that being said, we do have other Lexus model scheduled for testing in the next couple of months.
I actually have to say Toyota makes very good faux leather. I have it in my Rav4 SE and it's very durable and nicely stitched. Very handy for when you have kids.
I am about to get this 2016 GS200T. Can you tell me what the most common issues are with it. I am letting go of my Audi A5 Sportback. The problems were just compounding. Thank you in advance.
Great review, Sofyan. I was definitely looking forward to this one. With SUV/CUV sales skyrocketing and sedan sales plummeting, do you think we'll see low selling models similar to the GS getting axed?
It would surprise me if Lexus did kill this model. Despite the popularity of SUV's, midsize models like this are still the back bone of any brand. Lexus would be wise to give the GS a new V6 and make AWD available on this turbo 4-cylinder. -Sofyan
nice car but I still think 4cyl in this class everybody should make small v6. like a 2.5l v6 would be perfect & you would still have the smoothness of a v6.
I just had a 2015 gs350 as a loaner and it was a phenomenal car in every way aside from the mouse controller being annoying but I think the redesigned front end on the 2016 looks ugly compared to the 15 :/
I'm assuming this engine will find it's way into the Camry eventually if not the next generation. Especially considering it shares the same engine architecture with the current 4 cylinder offerings.
Pretty sure Lexus is waiting for the reveal of the newly redesigned LS next year to release the new V6 engine. Plus Lexus is probably testing the hell out of the engine to make sure it's reliable.
im a diehard toyota fan but $7500 For the F sport package is insane Especially since it's mostly aesthetic , And the fact that they replaced the 3.5 V6 from being the base engine means it's more expensive to get now, smh
@@udontknowmeg7254 Hell Yea! I own a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport. Had a 2017 IS200t F-Sport prior to my GS & the V6 is a huge upgrade over the turbo 4.
I have owned a GS and an IS..this refresh is nice...but it still looks boring all around except for the front end...I think 5 series and E-class are still ahead of their game. Besides this is still is only a 2.0 c'mon! Putt at least 350 hp in this baby and then take it from there! Faux leather on a Lexus?
The Lexus GS is probably the most boring car Toyota makes and adding a 4 cyl just makes sense because most likely typical buyer of this vehicle are of a very specific population: People who normally drive corollas, who have done well in life to afford a camry, then upgrade themselves further to a Lexus ES and finally, the ultimate top level car for them: Lexus GS in 4 cyl trim. :) Regardless, Sofyan always does his magic by making this vehicle interesting for 25 min. in this video review!
Also since this power plant is offered in the Lexus RC, IS, GS and NX; there sure as hell better be some tunes to wake these torque-y 4 pots up. I'm guessing you could get 300 crank hp and 350 ft lbs of torque with a nice tune.
i think lexus have to take a step up n compare to the Europen Car Spec !! im not a hater of Lexus i owned the model Is250 too pretty good though !!!!but i just Expect like the 360 Camera for this line up people would buy this without hesitate ^^
With regards pertaining to a navigation system, the GPS satellites should get the job done accurately, whether it could be a Garmin GPS system or a Google earth GPS system. I think tech-savvy users have taken a bit of amusement and confused it with admiration for the benefits of advanced technologies over the orthodox GPS from yesteryears. It doesn't matter if I have a Google earth GPS or a Garmin GPS I just want the job completed with precision.
Hello Redline Reviews! I'm seriously considering buying a 2016 Chevy SS from my local dealership. Would the car be worth it? I want to know your opinion, and see if there are any other vehicles that you could consider that's within the same class. The main reason I want it is because of- well you know, (That corvette engine, duh.) I would also hope to see a review about this car soon enough!
First of all I'm gonna get me a car channel. This guys info on the this car is misleading,he stated that if you hit sport mode it would handle better on the twistys. The model he has,has no active suspension. And he mentioned to V6 sounds better,I have a GS 350 F Sport and it was quite as a dead fly until I upgraded the exhaust...
Lexus is making really bad business decisions these days in US.. 1. triple beam headlight so hard to get on RX and NX(most dealers only have those on fully loaded models) and NOT AVAILABLE on GS and RC. This is so insane that they don't even want you to have their iconic headlights. 2. No plan of compatibility with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. People love using their smart phone to navigate. Even for older people. If Lexus thought they can still keep their "elder" customers, who are their major buyer, they are wrong. 3. keep using halogen turn signal lights..(new gs, new rx, new nx, new is, new es, new ct) 4. no remote startup, no auto hold in D while waiting for traffic lights(Mercedes has that) 5. system doesn't fully support some Unicode characters so it displays nothing when you listen to Chinese, Japanese, or Korean songs. Ironically this is a Japanese car manufacturer.
I want my next car to be a Lexus. Going to the mechanic is boring. Luxury should include reliability which many auto makers have forgotten about
I have an LS460. Great car, look into it. It's also on my channel.
I just bought a used 2017 Lexus IS200t F-Sport a month ago with 15k miles for $30,600 after taxes which I saved around $18k over a new one. Very smooth car & worth every penny! Much better than my previous 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6.

He's actually very opinionated which I appreciate. He has the balls to say what some other reviewers are afraid to say.
I had a '94 GS300 that just died 2 years ago, it was still an amazingly smooth ride at 20yrs old! miss it everyday
Man I had 2 off them sold both like a fool
My first one was M reg 1995 Uk what a car and Lexus are supreme to most car maker considering they’re luxurious and super reliable❤️
What do you drive now?
The styling of GS and IS and RC has grown on me.
I love my 2016 GS 200t F-sport. I truly do, best car I've ever owned. Great job Lexus once again.
Whats your mpg for the gs? Do you still have it? Do you usually drive highways? Much appreciated
What’s the difference from the GS300 ?
@@slimerothstein4816 Nothing much just option package changes.

Very nice car but I went for the RX instead and I love it.
And yes they need more engine line up.
Yeah, the GS350 and the 550 don't compete price wise at all 😂 I'll bet you got some weird looks when you told dealers which cars you were comparing.
Vikk 54 True true, which 5 series compares to the GS350? The 535i?
GS200t competes with 528i, GS350 competes with 535i, and GSF competes with 550i (power and price wise when similarly equipped)
Actually the GSF is to compete with the M5, CTS-V, etc. The GSF is down on power, but it is more fun than most cars in the category as mentioned by anyone who's reviewed it. The GSF competes power-wise, but the F was never intended to compete with the 550.
GS 350 F Sport vs 550i ? Not a good compare. Should have looked at the GS F, which is the V8
When are you reviewing the Genesis G80? or is it to similar 16' genesis to really do a full review?
Is300 video review soon???
How come you guys didn't get the F Sport version?
We always prefer the sportiest and most fully equipped vehicle, but sometimes the press fleet in our area just doesn't have one available. This is what Lexus had in our local fleet, that being said, we do have other Lexus model scheduled for testing in the next couple of months.
I actually have to say Toyota makes very good faux leather. I have it in my Rav4 SE and it's very durable and nicely stitched. Very handy for when you have kids.
I like the sound it makes right when it up shifts ! Is that the turbo ?
I love lexus but they absolutely NEED new Engines. Maybe even transmissions.
On the other hand, great review as always!
The TS050 has a turbo 2.4L v-6. Hinting new engine configuration for the future?
lexus remote start is used with your smart phone. Theres an app for the remote start
i still like to see mechanical review not complete detail but some quick briefing from the mechanical perception
I am about to get this 2016 GS200T. Can you tell me what the most common issues are with it. I am letting go of my Audi A5 Sportback. The problems were just compounding. Thank you in advance.
Which of the competitors offers remote start? The german trio does not. Who does?
Whippin' in Great Falls i see. Beautiful area!
I just had a 2015 gs350 as a loaner and it was a phenomenal car in every way aside from the mouse controller being annoying but I think the redesigned front end on the 2016 looks ugly compared to the 15 :/
Great review!
Are you going to review the 2017 Acura MDX anytime soon
I'm assuming this engine will find it's way into the Camry eventually if not the next generation. Especially considering it shares the same engine architecture with the current 4 cylinder offerings.
Can you please do a review on the all new GS F
Since this is a mid size luxury sedan, wouldn’t this the size of this vehicle be the same as the Toyota Camry, because the Camry is also a mid size?
What kind of camera u used
my qs is he said most of the competitor give remote start, which one ??????? example ?
The engine kills the feeling of prestige and the front end is hideous.
I have a 2013 gs350 with seats that look like these...I hope its real leather. How can I tell?
I think that for a 50,000 plus dollar car that especially is a brand like Lexus, automatic windows are expected, not a "nice feature that they give"
Can you review the new bmw 340i? Thanks love your work.
You should test the GS350 F-sport and GSF next.
I believe the GS line hasn't been with Lexus since the brand's started in the 90s. I think you meant the LS? Love this refresh anyways
Really like your vids. This GS needs a total revamp on the exterior. Needs some 5 series styling
Please review the v6 models
is this going to compete with the s550 ? or they're not in the same class ?
No, this car costs about $40k less
Competes with the E-Class
OK thanks
Personally would just look at an off-lease certified used GS with the V6 in it. Can't imagine laying out this much money for a 4 banger.
We guys are sure to check this out
Review of the GS-F?
Wow the 2.0t engine with the hood open sounds like the older A4 2.0t engine which itself sounded noisy like a diesel.
Lexus is way behind the competition, especially nissan which now has the 3.0 turbo! What's going on with Lexus?! Smh
Pretty sure Lexus is waiting for the reveal of the newly redesigned LS next year to release the new V6 engine. Plus Lexus is probably testing the hell out of the engine to make sure it's reliable.
Emissions,
They even pulled 2.0t for that
No buy - rear seats do not fold down for extended cargo storage! Lexus again failed in critical design.
@redlinereview...can u please review the Infiniti q56, aka q80 please. I really appreciate your reviews. thanks in advance.
You mean QX80
does the gs 2.0t use the same engine as the IS2.0t?
Jason D Yes...
The pho leather? What's that?
lmao it's faux leather, artificial
It was supposed to be an Asian joke about pho, which sounds similar to faux.
im a diehard toyota fan but $7500 For the F sport package is insane Especially since it's mostly aesthetic , And the fact that they replaced the 3.5 V6 from being the base engine means it's more expensive to get now, smh
Great review!!! Thank you.
Is this car affordable to own and put miles on. I drive 45,000 miles a year.
what is location? beautiful road, forest..
review the 17 e300
I’ve never seen a GS 200t in real life
I've only seen a couple of them. Much rarer than the 350's.
@@DisneyMusicVideos that 3.5 will always be superior
@@udontknowmeg7254 Hell Yea! I own a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport. Had a 2017 IS200t F-Sport prior to my GS & the V6 is a huge upgrade over the turbo 4.
I have owned a GS and an IS..this refresh is nice...but it still looks boring all around except for the front end...I think 5 series and E-class are still ahead of their game. Besides this is still is only a 2.0 c'mon! Putt at least 350 hp in this baby and then take it from there! Faux leather on a Lexus?
nice grille sriking design but the price is absolutely expensive for common consumer and it approach to full size sedan
Regardless, Sofyan always does his magic by making this vehicle interesting for 25 min. in this video review!
Your an idiot
These reviews are good and informative, but the intonation that you use really bothers me for some reason lol.
In real world pricing the V6 is about the same price, due to more discounting, right now.
Also since this power plant is offered in the Lexus RC, IS, GS and NX; there sure as hell better be some tunes to wake these torque-y 4 pots up. I'm guessing you could get 300 crank hp and 350 ft lbs of torque with a nice tune.
If I'm not being too modest. Who knows. There may be more HP and TQ left to uncork even with all the factory exhaust, intake and turbo.
i think lexus have to take a step up n compare to the Europen Car Spec !! im not a hater of Lexus i owned the model Is250 too pretty good though !!!!but i just Expect like the 360 Camera for this line up people would buy this without hesitate ^^
What’s the gs family
Great video.
it's have the night vision & rear a/c the 3 zone
Great review Sofyan. I actually like the front end. I need real leather seats & an ipad-like screen tho.
The rear seats don't fold down?! That's a deal breaker.
I'm sure Lexus will still sell fine without you. A lot of cars in this segment don't have fold down seats.
I really like this car, but the engine is a huge letdown. Their NA engines are gems, but their turbo powertrains still have a ways to go.
Hi! Can you please make a Cadillac Escalade vs Toyota Land Cruiser video? And how about a Nissan Armada vs Chevrolet Suburban?
seems like Toyota and Lexus don't bother to put in Apple Carplay or Android Auto into their lineup. None of the models from Toyota nor Lexus have it.
