- Come along as we watch the Union Pacific Steam Crew take UP BIG BOY No. 4014 back to Cheyenne, completing a successful tour of the 4014 and the 2023 Home Plate Express. We join the action during the day's run Westbound out of North Platte. Precisely on time, the train crews shuffle the train out of North Platte's business car tracks and onto the mainline. We then hopscotch the locomotive and train across several quaint Nebraska towns as they work towards the day's destination of Sidney. Another fancied adventure on the high iron is what awaits us here on the Overland Route! Rate. Comment. Subscribe. ENJOY!!! Copyright Nick Valdez Railroad Photography 2023.

Terrific video. Thanks.
Best angles EVER I have seen for the big boy
Before this video I had no idea 4015's horn could be controlled by the PTC system. Interesting.
Gracias Nick!!

Благодаря вашим видео я из России знаю о нем, какой он мощный и красивый, какой у него сильный гудок. Это торжество инженерной мысли Америки❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
why was the guy in the diesel also blowing the horn?
If you watch to 8:50, you'll get an explanation...
@@jointlinerailfan ah, fair enough
I forgot our PTC system in 4015 actually operates the horn. I filmed her auto-air-starting in New Orleans, I film and photograph 4015 more than 4014 when it comes to these two.
6:01 For gods sake, Ed Dickens and the crew changed the headlight from the original Pyle National single bulb to a two bulb EMD/GE setup. I know it allows ED and the engineers to see better at night, but boy does it ruin the aspect of 4014’s ALCO 1941 Look. I remember riding the 2021 Excursion in New Orleans and we still had the original 1941 Pyle National single bulb headlight. My son filmed up departing, and it looked so damn good with the single bulb headlight, I hope to god that Ed does not do this to the 844.
N&W 611 and 1218, C&O 614, and NKP 765, all legendary steam locomotives in their own right, had their headlights similarly modified and nobody complained. As a lifelong railfan and steam locomotive enthusiast, I will never understand why some of you people always complain about silly things like headlights.
@@KeijiSuwa listen kid, it’s all about the looks. If you knew what proper railroading was, you would understand.
