A GOTHIC-obsessed mum has decided to undergo an extreme make-under to surprise her partner and 6-year-old daughter. Emily Boo, from Ipswich, has dressed in black since she was a teen and has collected over 150 modifications including facial tattoos and piercings. As a part of Truly's brand new series, Transformed, she stepped out of her comfort zone and tried out what she describes as a "basic b*****" look.

It’s so hard to have confidence in your own skin alone nowadays. For someone to have the balls to wear something most people don’t like and LOVE it while being confident - it’s so admirable and awesome to me. She’s gorgeous and has amazing energy. The makeover was silly but so positive and fun. Love this kind of thing.

I think whoever picked the outfit was like "let's pick everything she hates and put it together" instead of trying to compliment her body with the clothes and even some of her taste. Like black can be a "normal color" in normal wear.
The point of it is to look the opposite to get the experience, sounds like you come from more of an angle of you wanting her to change her appearance to be more “normal”. Not saying you actually do, just what your opinion sounds like.
@@m.s.cwolfcadet553 maybe i need to clarify, what I'm trying to convey is that the way they styled her was "tacky". There are ways to style "normal" looks and incorporate things people like and look good on their body. I don't mind how she dresses, but I think the experience would have been more valuable if they placed more thought into the "normal style". They do that in makeover shows all the time, and you can see the made over person (even if that's not their style) at least value some of the look. Also thanks for replying 😁
Totally agree. That shirt and jeans made her look frumpy. And from just seeing this short clip, she isn't a frump at all. They could have picked out something a bit more edgy for her; like the shoes! Those were nicely edgy and she seemed to have been surprised by how much she did like them.

I’d encourage you to check out her channel. She LOVES her daughter and doesn’t care whether she chooses to be super preppy or gothic or whatever. She encourages her daughter to make her own choices
I kind of want to do this… like, my style isn’t too out there. I really like sweaters and straight wide leg jeans and pants and I love wearing earrings, necklaces, and rings. My favorite shoes are converse, heeled boots, and normal boots. I also have shorter hair (sort of like something you would see one of the male kpop stars with, even though I’m a girl) and so I never have too much to do with my hair. Trying out different styles and makeup would be so fun. I would love to see what I would look like in emo/gothic since I find some of gothic really awesome and something I’d want to wear and black and red, and darker colors are my favorite. Plus I love emo music too

I love how she doesn't like yellow, blue jeans, or pointed shoes. And that's exactly what they gave her to wear.🤦 Personally I would have put her in black tights, with a cute short flouncy dark green skirt, a corset tank top, and some ballerina slippers. All the clothes they chose for her were just ugly and did not fit her very well at all. Although the makeup was not bad and I did like the wig.

She’s so beautiful but the clothes was terrible. The could have still dressed her in a darker color like a dark blue and gray with black shoes but damn they did her so wrong with this, putting her a total outfit she had told them she didn’t like. 🤷🏻♀️ The clothes also wasn’t totally for her age, the dressed her too “mature” like those mom jean, they could have picked something more modern, this women is beautiful.

i agree. they dressed her really terribly. the colors were fine and meant to contrast her usual vibe, but it feels like they really shirked effort on dressing her due to her curvier body type and her status as a mother. it feels lazy and like they didnt care to dress her in a flattering way based on predisposed, arbitrary societal norms. you can dress in a more "normal" or "standard" way and not look like you're wearing some satin scrubs and sweats made to look like jeans. elevating the heel a bit more would have been nice too. stylist really botched this one imo.
Mom jeans are trendy but not for every body type. My personal style is Gothic Americana (all black, platformed shoes and all my tatts and piercings to 50s housewife skater dresses, garters.and stocks, and mary janes). They could've made her look "normal" but not a drastic 180 turn to everything she specifically did not stylewise. It was never going to work...she's beautiful and is most beautiful when she's her authentic self (as we all are)
