I grew up in Gainesville FL in the 60's. It was great! Right on 17th Street the entrance to UF. The campus was my playground. On the weekend went to either Cedar Key or Crescent Beach at St. Augustine. I wouldn't trade be growing up in Gainesville FL for anything.

Hi Amelia Island is a beautiful day trip and really beautiful and quiet place that you and the family might love to visit it's near Jacksonville and the beach and restaurants are amazing thanks for this video

I was watching your videos and this one happened to say 25 minutes ago! I’m looking forward to coming to Gainesville for day trip with my friends we are 16,17 and coming by ourselves what are some fun things to do? Also I’m from Tallahassee.
Ha! Yes, it should have published at 3:45pm not am 🤦🏻♂️ It depends on what you guys like to do. Carson Springs Wildlife is great if you want to check out some animals. You could go swimming / tubing at Ginnie Springs. Sweetwater Wetlands Park is a pretty area where you can usually spot alligators. There are some nice shops downtown to check out and for more shopping go over to Butler Plaza. Looking for two or 3 acres to either build a barn to minium or some thing that is existing with small house with decent size garage to put boat, RV, side-by-side‘s things like that. Not sure if there’s anything like that in Gainesville or not, we live farther south in Florida long Atlantic in Vero Beach
There is not a lot on the market right now but finding something like this should be possible. It depends on the price range. Looking in areas just outside of Gainesville, like Alachua, Newberry and Hawthorne you may find some additional options. I'm coming to gainesville 4th July from the UK 🇬🇧 can you give me some advice on the best places to go too I'm staying there for 3 weeks
I don't think is a good idea to come from UK all the way to USA just to visit gainesville, but I'm sure that if you plan smart for going to the surrounding places you will like it. Other than that hit me up for sure I'll be in Florida:)
