- In this video, I explain in plain English how to photograph waterfalls.
Seeing a great picture style and being able to replicate it for most people are 2 very different things. In this video, I'm hoping to explain how you can freeze water and also turn it silky-smooth and milky!

Thanks so much for the detailed explanation. Before I just kept changing my settings until I got something I liked. I knew about the triangle but not about the 3 stop rule. That makes it so much easier. Thanks again. Now I just need to go find a waterfall to photograph.
That was really mind blowing how you explained this, as it put a structure to understanding why the changes were made, where I've just sort of hit and hoped the settings before, but not really understood why I was making them.
Gary, this was a great tutorial. Simply in simple language that everyone understands. The beginner and the seasoned photographer can do all kinds of things with this. The ND app was also an addition. Thanks for this and like more of this.

Thanks Gary, this is the best tutorial I have seen on changing these settings. I had an idea of stops and 3 clicks per stop but this has truly explained it to me. Wow! I'm glad I found this tutorial. I'm getting ready for a little road trip here in Pennsylvania to take exposures of a couple of local waterfalls tomorrow. Your intro states I’m going to explain in plain English how to photograph waterfalls and boy you don’t disappoint . Sir you are a natural communicator and a joy to listen to as well as very entertaining . I have watched almost all of your videos and nobody comes near to you in the art of teaching . There is only one other in the same league in my humble opinion and he is Karl Taylor but you are entertainment personified.

I have too many tripods already, but love my Ifootage tripod, the fastbowl really makes the job of getting the camera level so simple, but beyond that, the tripod is just so easy to open and close, not too heavy, and easy to clean. Good luck to who ever wins, you will love it.
