Join the decisive aerial battle of the 20th Century - The Battle of Britain. Zoom over the white cliffs as a Fighter pilot in the Spitfires and Hurricanes of the Royal Air Force, or pilot the black crossed Bf-109's and Bf-110's of the Luftwaffe and the Italian Fiat G-50 of the Regia Aeronautica. Accept the technical challenge of flying bombers or attack aircraft like the German Junkers 88, Heinkel and Stuka, the Italian Fiat BR-20, or the British Bristol Blenheim or Beaufighter. Immersion breaking result from Il-2 CoD there. Any collision between a Spitfire and a Bf 110 that completely rips off the Bf 110's wing should render the Spitfire completely unflyable, as the Bf 110's airframe is thicker and stronger than the Spitfire's. That flight should have ended with a bail out.
When belly landing, glide. Turn off your engine. A spinning prop hitting the ground ( ground strike) ruins the engine by bending or breaking the crank shaft. England needs those airframes or failing that, as much as they can salvage from a downed craft.
I see a fan of the usual British method of downing a plane: Dump .303s into them until they are too heavy to fly.

You got very lucky. Also, I just watched your video on WWI vs. WWII combat. Your Hurricane had the same problems the Me 262 pilots had, when they first got into combat. Very fast vs. very slow.

I knew the spitfire’s wings were good, but damn?!
One of the few things wrong with IL-2 is the ability of 110 and Stuka rear gunners to hit you when their pilots were chucking their planes about, imagine lugging a hand held and very heavy MG in +G/-G and then imagine trying to lead a nimble target while doing so!
I found tackling anything with a rear gunner to be far more dangerous than anything without, including fighters and this is obviously an inversion of reality.
Yeah, AI gunnery seems very hard to get right. Either completely useless or way to dangerous. Be it bomber gunners or ground fire.
Nice. Can you tell a little about the hardware you use to play? Tracking, throttle control, joystick, foot control rudder... and more.

Crikey, Taff! Those 109s were a tad on the sleepy side! You would have thought after poking the rottweiler once, the others would have woken up and kicked your sorry ass back to Blighty, but they all flew like rookies!

Taff can i ask , do you use head tracking ? or hat switch ? i have this game also and id really love to get the most out of it , i have a stick and throttle its a thrustmaster hotas 4 and it works fine its just the visual side i cant get right ie looking left , right etc as i have it set to snap left and right and its a real pain , wish they would hurry up with vr in this game as this would make it truly fantastic !!!! many thanks ...Shaun.

I wanna know how you even get the game to launch, I picked it up via Steam and tried every single troubleshooting idea I could come across and still the game will not launch......very disappointed especially carrying the IL-2 name.
It is a wonder if you hit anything at all. Why are you waiting every time until it's way too late for firing?

The sense of speed is NOT done well in this game. It feels "floaty".

I enjoy all the vids, but man u have got to work on ur marksmanship. And being out flown by a 110 while in a spit is national tragedy
Have to watch out for those tail gunners that can quickly ruin your day.
I think the 110 in this game are all flown by the worlds greatest pilots. The way the 110 flies and fights in the game doesn't seem to match what I've read from Battle of Britain descriptions.
