For viewers new to this song, the conversation at the beginning is between a doctor and his rock star patient. The doctor gives him an injection so that he's able to perform at his next show.
@jeffchristman674 if you ever watch The Wall then you will know it is his doctors that inject him. He is ODing (or just really high) in his room when the concert promoters/managers and other big music people are trying to get him up to go perform. But he is out of it. They then bring in medical staff and doctors that inject him with something (maybe like narcan or another drug) and he wakes up and is able to perform. If you've never watched it, I recommend it. It tells an entire story with the music.
Pink Floyd is the band for all time!im an 80s kid and I grew up surrounded by pink Floyd lovers now new gen love them as much just a band to put on when you no longer wish to be in this reality
That feeling you got during the first solo was pink floyd attaching itself to your soul where it will remain forever. I'm nearly 60 years old and grew up listening to them and believe me you don't get sick of them
Please check out the LIVE version from the PULSE CONCERT. The extended guitar solo and spectacular light show combine for an unforgettable performance.
I really like how honestly SCEPTICAL MollyBoy was at the beginning of the song; Made it all the more SWEET when he gradually succumbed and we got to witness the birth of a new PinkFloyd fan. This was Priceless 😙
"... I feel like I can feel the guitar solo in my heart." That's David Gilmore, and I think it's fairly common. I lack the vocabulary to adequately descibe what it is about his playing. It's like his phrasing and tone manages to tap into an emotional part of our psyche. The outro solo gets me every time and I have no idea why.
DG sings using his voice quite well, but when he sings through his guitar, I understand exactly what he's saying. Words often fail us, but DG's guitar never does.
The album "The Wall" is what got me into Pink Floyd. A friend told me to put headphones on and really listen to the album. It remains one of my alltime favourite albums
I lost my brother and sister to heroin. This song was the soundtrack to their lives. Please… anyone out there, trust me,,, you WILL be missed horribly. Don’t go gently into that night.
There are two singers for this song. One is Roger Waters, the bassist, who you here at the start. The other is David Gilmour, the band's guitarist. Pink Floyd did not really write songs meant to be heard as singles but rather as part of an album. Most of their songs run into each other with no proper breaks between them. The songs are often linked and meant be listened to in order. This is especially true of the album The Wall, which Comfortably Numb is taken from.
I will FOREVER be Grateful to my parents family friends. My dad worked with him. He introduced me to Pink Floyd at 18. I am not gonna lie, I thought they were way too sodt and weak for me. Don'y judge me too hard, I was 14. They were a secret because they didn't sound hard core. It took some growing but my fiancee I had at 18. He reintroduced them to me. He made me listen. Whenever we were in the van. Pink Floyd. It really taught me true appreciation for good music. I've been an open fan of Pink Floyd since and they are harder than most realize. It taught me you don't have to sound hard to be bad azz. One of my favourite bands.
In 77 I was 35, the music ov the 60s thru 90s was bumper to bumper everyone trying to outdo everyone else, Pink Floyd is top-o-the-heap. Everything you are hearing, I heard x1000. Rock on.
I registered to a bunch of your reactions and I feel this is the song that launched you into the classic 70's hits that now has transformed you to where you are today!! Love your reactions Molly Boy
You'll understand and FEEL the lyrics more as you grow and age. Heartbreaking really, when all innocence is lost. What I wouldn't give to go back....13 in 1978 when I bought this vinyl and have loved EVER SINCE and appreciate it even more now. Great stuff man. I suggest watching the movie made for this. Its from an era you may not know much of (I'm assuming) and it has deep concepts that are classic. Good for you that you're opening your mind to new music (and hopefully other things) Some live they're whole life in one place one way of thinking on the straight and narrow. Okay of that's what one chooses but it was never for me. Enjoy. New sub from me.
I've only recently come across your site but got to say it's great to see a young person discovering and appreciating the music my generation grew up listening to and that I believe was the best era ever for music. Recommend you give Pink Floyd, The great going in the sky a shot. Vocals that make your hair stand on end.
That was so much fun to watch - you not being sure you were going to like it, and knowing you were about to hear TWO of the all time great guitar solos! Great video!
You really need to hear the whole album beginning to end to fully appreciate it. A concept album. First heard this 1980 whilst travelling in my boyfriend’s car 200 miles from my house to his. Sublime 👌
One of my treasured memories is seeing Pink Floyd perform live, complete with laser light show, at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (aka SPAC) outdoor amphitheater in Saratoga Springs, NY, USA in the summer of 1973 during their Dark Side Of The Moon tour. I was 21 years old then. I have my vinyl copy of the studio album, although it was a later issue. The air was filled with the smell of marijuana smoke. We were all farking high as kites. Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end. Lawn seat general admission tickets were $4. Even at that price there were gaps in the fence where you could sneak in for free and not get caught. That was approximately $28 US in today's dollars. Imagine seeing Pink Floyd live for $28. I believe this is a tribute to Sid Barrett, the former band member who suffered from mental illness.
Many people say about their favorite bands they say things like "this group is different"! In the case of Pink Floyd they really are from another Galaxy! They are literally their own genre and nobody else sounds like them!; They don't follow any rules when it comes to songwriting or music! You should probably start by listening to songs from their Dark Side of the Moon album considered to be THE best album of all time from many magazine writers and many critics. also listening to Dark Side of the Moon or Wish You Were Here or Animals or even The Wall which Comfortably Numb comes from. When you listen to music from those albums they were meant to be listened to from beginning to end through the entire album so you may lose some context or a song I might stop suddenly. This is because the song your listening to will seamlessly transition into the next song but if you only listen to the one song it may stop abruptly! Always enjoy watching somebody discover Pink Floyd who are completely unique!! If you want to see them and how amazing their legendary concerts are watch anything from their 1994 Pulse concert tour! They have played this song with other people singing it so it sounded a bit different in movies such as "The Departed" a Martin Scorsese film with a giant cast!
Yeah. I felt kind of the same when I first heard this song. Wasn't digging it at first, but when that last solo came in, I was head banging. _THE_ best guitar solo _EVER._
I agree, I believe you would really enjoy seeing the live 1994 pulse concert, the entire concert is awesome, an extremely enjoyable journey to take for sure, Please check it out a.s.a.p.
David Gilmore might be the best guitarist to ever live. His guitar sings to you! I love this version, but I actually prefer his 1980 Live in Berlin solo. UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" blows me away every time. In all honesty, I highly recommend you put your headphones on in bed and listen to the entire album. You will be transported. I'd say "Wish You Were Here" was my favorite album when I was a teenager in the 70's. But I was living in hellish violence at home and was escaping with music/drugs which I don't recommend, but that album was a vehicle in which to climb in and escape.
Considered by many players to be the best guitar solo in history. The graphic shown is actually the cover for Dark Side of the Moon. Comfortably Numb is from The Wall.
Pink Floyd is Legendary man, they are on another level altogether, one of the GOATs of Rock music. They were formed in London in 1964, starting out as a Blues based Rock band, like virtually every Rock Band to come out of England in the 1960s. They've had an historic career and have sold hundreds of millions of albums worldwide, and counting! I've been a Floyd fan since 1973 when they released their iconic "The Dark Side Of The Moon" album, I was a 17 year old senior in high school, lol. They're known for their long compositions, philosophical lyrics, also for their mesmerizing live performances, with light and laser shows. Their 1994 Pulse Concert is a good example, "Sorrow" a good choice too! You must do the live version of "Comfortably Numb" at Pulse too, "High Hopes" too!
If you haven’t listened to The Angels (take a long line)or Cold Chisel ( Cheap wine), I think you should. Mind you all of their songs are great. Love what you’re doing. Keep being you. Jo
If you can get ahold of David Gilmour live ay Pompeii theres a ripping solo in rhe song Fat Old Sun and of course another awesome version of Comfortably Numb
You don't listen to Pink Floyd. You experience Pink Floyd.
So true!!!
You need to lay down in a dark room with this album and a good pair of headphones and just experience it!
+ a bit of acid tabs
Blotter
Pink Floyd is legendary! David Gilmour is a guitar god! This song has two of the greatest guitar solos EVER!
I like the guitar solo in 'time' better
Pink Floyd is a whole vibe, you gotta just lay back & enjoy the ride with this band. Glad you enjoyed the guitar solo!
For viewers new to this song, the conversation at the beginning is between a doctor and his rock star patient. The doctor gives him an injection so that he's able to perform at his next show.
That and this is on the wall not dark side of the moon like the album cover says
It's an injection of heroin.
Yes. His "Doctor".
@jeffchristman674 if you ever watch The Wall then you will know it is his doctors that inject him. He is ODing (or just really high) in his room when the concert promoters/managers and other big music people are trying to get him up to go perform. But he is out of it. @@jeffchristman674 No, it literally was a doctor. He was having sever stomach issues.
You've got to watch their movie "The Wall". It's a trip and amazing.
Pink Floyd is the band for all time!im an 80s kid and I grew up surrounded by pink Floyd lovers now new gen love them as much just a band to put on when you no longer wish to be in this reality

I am 73 and it has been attached to my soul since the first time I heard it all those many years ago.❤
Please check out the LIVE version from the PULSE CONCERT. The extended guitar solo and spectacular light show combine for an unforgettable performance.
The live version is out now on my channel
The Pulse Concert version will be played at full volume to the mourners as my family fill in my grave at my funeral
The Gilmour live in pompeii version is even better.
The live version is intensely powerful. The studio version is also powerful. Different.
00:22 as we speak you are at 110K...you deserve 1M!! definitely the best out there and i've been watching reaction videos for about 3 years now!!
I really like how honestly SCEPTICAL MollyBoy was at the beginning of the song; Made it all the more SWEET when he gradually succumbed and we got to witness the birth of a new PinkFloyd fan. This was Priceless 😙
The face when they get hit first time with a Gilmour solo is priceless
I listen to this ever single day. I'm almost 60 yrs old & have listened to it since the day it came out.❤
And then he found Pink Floyd. This is one of the deepest rabbit holes in music. I cant stress that enough. Enjoy!
"... I feel like I can feel the guitar solo in my heart." That's David Gilmore, and I think it's fairly common. I lack the vocabulary to adequately descibe what it is about his playing. That is how it was for me also.
This album spent 944 weeks on the billboard hot 200
I lost my brother and sister to heroin. This song was the soundtrack to their lives. Please… anyone out there, trust me,,, you WILL be missed horribly. Don’t go gently into that night.
Pink Floyd Dark Side of The Moon isn't a song, it's an album and it's a journey.
The entire album is a masterpiece.
After you watch the movie the whole album hits that much harder.
Comfortably numb is never the wrong song.
There are two singers for this song. One is Roger Waters, the bassist, who you here at the start. The other is David Gilmour, the band's guitarist.

Yeah Pompeii 1974. Maybe the best music video ever made.
I will FOREVER be Grateful to my parents family friends.
My dad worked with him.
He introduced me to Pink Floyd at 18.

Pink Floyd is badass , great reaction mollyboy 🤘🔥🎸💯...

My personal favourite guitar solo of all time. To shred really fast is a great trick, but to play with this much soul.... That's virtuosic.
You should watch this song on the Pulse live concert. It’s tremendous.
It’s out now on my channel!
PINK FLOYD simply just hits that relax mode , just awesome. Awesome reaction mollyboy !!! ✌️🔥🎸💯...
Pulse , comfortably numb, is something else.. 🎉
Check my recent video it’s out now!
At 2:30, a 57 year old man watching this thinks, " That's right, son...be patient, lean back, and buckle up your emotional brain".
Have a doob then listen..to all the album ❤
As they're saying, the live version of this song from PULSE.
It’s out now check out my recent video
You really need to hear the whole album beginning to end to fully appreciate it. A concept album. First heard this 1980 whilst travelling in my boyfriend’s car 200 miles from my house to his. Sublime 👌
I just had to start smiling as you were kind of waffling at the beginning and I knew what was coming!!!

In my friends wedding day in 1984 the band no showed...this is what she walked down the aisle to..and yes we were 😂
Time is a must by them.
You just have to relax, and groove to Pink Floyd. 🫠
Wright is just laying down such an atmosphere, damn.
Pink Floyd just takes you places.
yow need to see the film to get it bro !

Listen to the album from start to finish. Floyd is like that. The whole album is a performance artwork.
Yeah. I felt kind of the same when I first heard this song. Wasn't digging it at first, but when that last solo came in, I was head banging. _THE_ best guitar solo _EVER._
I request this song at wedding receptions. A great slow song to dance to!
This is one of the greatest guitar solos ever. David Gilmour is incredible.
The live version of this song at Pulse is amazing
My predominantly African American middle school was taken to this laser show in 8th grade.. Best field trip I ever went on.
The best guitar solo,, just close your eyes and drift
I agree, I believe you would really enjoy seeing the live 1994 pulse concert, the entire concert is awesome, an extremely enjoyable journey to take for sure, Please check it out a.s.a.p.
The pulse concert is on my channel
Always give your true opinion
David Gilmore might be the best guitarist to ever live. His guitar sings to you! I love this version, but I actually prefer his 1980 Live in Berlin solo. UNBELIEVABLE!!!
I see a lot of myself in your reaction, almost 40 years ago. Really enjoyed that, thanks :)
4:35 the way the lead guitar goes with the vocals it's unbelievable.
This is amazing, but you need to watch the Pulse concert version. Keep on the Floyd trail.
It’s on the channel now!
Boy, you be crazy. The waa-waa, do-do-do that Alan parson’s put in with strings.
Smoke a jo1nt and close your eyes. THAT'S how you experience Pink Floyd! 😀
Great reaction Budd !Hope you do the live version and you get to hear all of the outro guitar solo . So epic !

Truth is important❤
seen a few boxes go into the fire to this tune
Considered by many players to be the best guitar solo in history. The graphic shown is actually the cover for Dark Side of the Moon. Comfortably Numb is from The Wall.
Both Roger, and David have unique voices. I love them both. Always a strong message, you may be too young to understand most. Imho
My favorite drinking song for the past 40 years
Pink Floyd The Wall movie is worth the watch You will see what they are singing about 🫶✌️🏴

If you can get ahold of David Gilmour live ay Pompeii theres a ripping solo in rhe song Fat Old Sun and of course another awesome version of Comfortably Numb
Try the Pink Floyd live version of Echoes at Pompeii ..
Listen to Two suns in the sunset from the final cut
Needs to be listened too in conjunction with the whole album or watch the film as it’s telling a story and this is a big part of the lyrics.
The first time I heard this song I was tripping balls on LSD. It felt like I was floating away on that intro..
Check out the live version ,, that s epic
The more you hear it, the better it gets.
Proof that people can get wiser as they aged: I used to hate Pink Floyd and now it's one of my favorite band ever!
