Redshift needs to be GPU as shipped with Cinema4d, otherwise... its a money extraction scheme which does not look that tempting compared to Blender and other tools. Its one thing to pay extra for Arnold, V-Ray or Octane or some third party render engine. But in 2023, almost 2024, Maxon need to make Redshift, full Redshift part of Cinema4D experience. Otherwise its like selling a modern car with seat belts and airbag extra. Its not a value proposition, its a corporate middle finger to the users. A deliberate software handicap to extort money. Message is clear.
I am very thankful for your basketball lesson in Redshift. I have one question, I am trying to change the basketball's logo to a Wilson brand to showcase an impression/indentation where the logo is. However, when I add the wilson logo (as a new material in Flat Projection mode) the original displacement is replaced. I can't seem to find a way to combine it with the original displacement, even with a displacement blender. Is there a way to have one displacement be in UVW projection, combine with one that is in a Flat Projection?
I had fancy artefacts when stacking materials, so I reached out to Maxon support. They basically said "sry still under development". So yeah GPU is the way to go. I'm happy with the performance on AMD cards though.

Thanks Elly! Very helpful.
Thank you Elly!
Great tutorial! it helped a lot, looking forward to more
Nice! thxs for that content, still asking me how can apply logo images un procedural object without Uvs ?
Great Elly Congrats
What file should you save as when exporting the UV, can it just be a JPG file? And since it's warped, will the exported UV show the warped grid?
Yes. The cpu version….. practically useless.

Have you ever seen a basketball IRL?!
