Just good info. Expect nothing less from you Jon
Tom, you're amazing - thanks for taking the time to watch it and can't wait to standhand sometime soon!
DUDE! I'm so happy that I'm not the only one favouring learning with a straight position rather than a straddle. I make people do both, but I heavily like to use the straight position whenever possible. For me, this is the base position. I used it for myself as well, because it felt like in straddle, I wanted to cheat and use my legs to balance.
Super light assistance holds with a straight position, and repeated straddle to straight position changes on one arm helped me most build my understanding of my body position.
Oh man! So thrilled - I totally get what you mean about wanting to use the legs in straddle. I think it's really common when people want to learn, right? Thanks for jumping in the comments, always appreciated! :D
@@JonnyOxtricks My pleasure, man! Well done on the video!
This literally got me from a sloppy 2s hold to consistent 3/4s holds and glimmers of a 'bite point', just from watching the first 1/3 of the video.....
JON.... YOU BLOODY WIZARD
Ahhh brah!!! I am So chuffed that this took instant effect on your One Arms! So psyched to see how far you take this now!
Oh, and for those who struggle with the shoulder shifting to the outside of the wrist, here's a simple fix: practice with a bench (or a chair, or a coffee table) on your side. If you shift your shoulder too far to the outside, you will touch the bench, and it will prevent you from going any further. More importantly, the bench shouldn't be used to block your shoulder from shifting for you, but as a gauge of your position and a reminder to keep your shoulder in.
Yoooo, this is a fantastic idea! Really good for social distancing as well hahah!
@@JonnyOxtricks Ha ha, I always have to plan for what my students do when I'm not there, cause I normally can't see them every single training! Plus, the bench is helpful if you have many people at once in a class!
Damn this is easily the best oahs video I’ve ever seen
Huge compliment - honestly, that means so much!
Just wanna say THANK YOU SO much for this! I've been practicing handbalancing for 3 years and OAHS for about 1.5 years, and that cue of where to put pressure in the hand helped so much. I always thought it had to be more in the center of the hand and I'd always fall to the left. I have so much more control with this one tip and am constantly getting 3-5 second holds with very minimal correcting! Thank you so much 🙏
What a beautiful comment - thank you SO much! it's comments like this that keep me going with these videos. Honestly, thanks for taking the time to let me know that this helped you 😭😭😭😍
I do not understand anything you say because I do not speak English, unfortunately UA-cam does not give the option to subtitle but with the references of the videos, examples and your expressions in handstand, I realized several errors that I have been making in my training and Thanks to this I will solve them, incredible content I hope you can continue growing, thank you !!
This really means a lot that you still tried to watch it! What country are you from? Maybe I can get a friend to translate? :)
This videos you make are so powerfull and by far the best ive seen over the last year on youtube!! Amazing! Can‘t understand why your not the fastest growing handstand chanel on this platform...
That's very kind of you to say and also really encouraging! As long as one person finds it helpful that's all that matters :)
Fall in love with you video bro! Thanks a lot👏🏼👏🏼
Ahh bro! I'm SO thrilled with that! Thanks a lot!
thanks for share! no doubt's these is gonna help me a lot
*Siri, remind about this video in two years* Fantastic information! Can’t wait to use it some day!
Yeah, To be honest - we should probably start to get on this...It can take some time!
I've been training OAHS for years (of course only full position cuz i feel that is actually the real OAHS) So, from my experience, i think you are the best teacher ever.
- Balance point on thump, body line, internal hip-rotation, free-arm technique, etc.
You analyze many aspects very well. Good work 👍 man!
This comment is so kind! Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful and kind comment! :)
@@JonnyOxtricks Thank you, i just wanted to say the truth based on my experience from years of Calisthenics training. Yeah! I'm not a hand balancer, and haven't got OAHS yet. But anyway, you gave me more motivation to keep it up.
You have some great videos jonathan ,The free handstand guide you posted some time back (pdf)was very helpfull too .
Finally the most usefull one arm vid came out thanks a lot
Wow - that's so kind of you! Thank you so much!

Thank you bro!! Hope you find it helpful
Am I the only one who watches this epic video in almost every month because it's still the best tutorial on the internet? 😂
Hahaha bro, you're amazing! Thanks a lot. Glad there's still stuff in here for you!
Such good advice, I aspire to get the one arm someday
Thank you so much! You can do it - just stick at it and don't stop! Commitment is the key to this move!
Thank you so much for the effort that clearly went into making and editing this video. OAHS is still years away for me but even so it serves as a source of motivation and inspiration. Although the weight shift exercise is something that I can see in my not so distant future. In any case my gratitude for making such quality content freely available to aspiring handbalancers! :D
It's comments like this that honestly make it work it - it really means so much to me! It's a long journey but it's not complicated, I believe it just requires patience and commitment to the process. It's a hard Journey and INCREDIBLY frustrating but I belive you can do it if you just keep going :) Don't give up - You've got this :)
What a good video! I love the explicaciones first! thank you
You're very welcome! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Great video! Gonna get back into trying some one arms ! I liked that you credited other coaches!
You've got this bro - you can do it!!
Man, this is just a BRILLIANT video, just brilliantly done, awesome and super useful for those learning the one arm handstand as well as those who already can do it - tips for everyone and I'll definitely use some of those drills myself!
And yes, I'm guilty of doing the hips, knees and even toes corrections while balancing one arms but it's nearly gone now 😂
What a beautiful comment - I'm so thrilled you liked it that much! I'm really touched by your comment, thank you so much!
Hahah!! We all are! It's the on going battle!
besides the tutorial the production is really nice
Wow - such an encouraging comment! Thank you so much! :)
pure gold
Wow - thank you so much my friend!! :D
Nice 🙏🏿
Thanks 💯 :)
Good teacher
Thank you! 😃
Very detailed and professional. I've gotten my oahs, figa and some oa press from self learning, and totally argreed with you. Keep posting my man!
Thank you so much! Amazing that you've got such advanced skills from self taught! I'm also self taught ( with some input from others!). Thanks for your comment!

@@JonnyOxtricks all good bro
Hey Jon, great work in this video, can you do a handstand condition routine for trapezious and overall stability in the two arm? Thank you, hope you keep posting!!
Hey there! This is a GREAT idea - I think I'll start planning that now :D Thanks for the idea!
Jonathan さん!!あなたの教え方とても分かりやすい!!せいやもがんばります! This video is so easy to understand for me !!
Now , I will start my journey of one arm handstand with you mate
ありがとうございます! You're the man! Let me know if you want any tips :D
あなたのとうりつをとたも すごいです
Sorry i can't speak english well, but i wanted to say thank you for this amazing tutorial, it's the best you can find on youtube, it really helps me a lot in my one arm learming process. Gracias bro
Wow! Such a huge compliment! That means so much :D Let me know if you need any help :D
Wow
Thank you so much!
Very big thank’s your video is very complet ✌️👍 thank’s from France, you preferer work on the ground? Blocks? Bars?
Hey! Sorry for the late response! My pleasure - I hope you find it useful 🙂. I would suggest always learning on floor unless you have wrist issues, then I'd recommend learning on blocks :D
Nice one m8! Kudos for giving credits to cue owners, literally no one does that. Also, suggestion for a followup to this, since you haven't covered: shoulders. lock them with external rotation, pec activation, push with traps high?, push taller?, push to the end of the universe? in the end handstands are 90% shoulders and 10% frustration management, isn't it?
Hey Emrah! Thanks for the compliments and feedback! I was actually contemplating the external rotation cue - I even started editing it but decided to scrap it. I personally don't use it but have students who find it beneficial! I'm actually planning on releasing another free programme soon for the One Arm where I'll be sure to add this in! Thank you so much for such a detailed comment
This is great! Especially the balance point is something I havent really practiced that much, makes so much sense to focus on a smaller spot instead of just vaguely trying to stay up on the entire arm,
Question about the tutorial/drill part: Do you recommend only doing the drill which is relevant to your level or do they accumulate so that you do more and more differrent drills as you progress?
Hey dude! Thanks for the comment! So for me, I've always just hyper focused on fewer drills and fewer shapes. This is the quickest way to see progress and consistency in my opinion :)
thanks, very in depth and full of quality:)
the 10 sets of 10sec are in the same side of 5 each side ?
should you be training both or only one side at a time ?
Hey! Thanks for your comment! It's a total of 100 seconds on each side. My personal preference is to do one set of 10 seconds then come down, take a small breather, then go again :)
Amazing video! Lots of great pointers that I can't wait to incorporate. One quick question I had: what's your stance on learning the OAHS on a parallette versus the ground?
Hey! Thanks a lot! My stance would be " what's your focus?", If it's for cali then go for it! I always recommend basing your training on your specific goals. If your goal is one arm on floor then I'd say stick to floor :)
@@JonnyOxtricks fair. I tend to have better control on a parallette, so I've been spending most of my practice time there. I spend a little time near the end of a session playing around with some floor attempts too, just for variety, and I've noticed there are pros/cons to each. I'm more likely to rotate out on a parallette, whereas I have less front/back control on the floor. Either way, I guess it's all just a matter of spending time working the skill. Thanks for the reply!
I wish i would be there to get your teaching someday in your area !:)
If you can come to Japan that would be great!
@@JonnyOxtricks thanks! For your reply. Unfortunately i check this today how long are you gonna be there? Couldn't be fit the time me personally but i have a plan to go to uk on next year in that time i can visit there probably on summer around! It should be happy for me
Thanks for reading
@@benbenne4518 We plan on staying in Japan for the future! That's our plans, anyways! :)
You're South Korea, right?
Really? Wow it sounds a chance to get your teaching with shorter distance oneday yeah~
Awesome video. Super clear and professional. My nan didn't like your advice towards the end though
Nathan!! My friend - thank you SO much for taking the time to comment! I hope I didn't offend your nan, sometimes they'er happy to help...
Maybe I used the wrong leg - her left leg has always been her weaker one. Such a good, well made video though.
@@NathanJPhillips I know some exercises she can do if the ol' dear wants to strengthen up that leg. Thank you so much my brother!
Hello,
Thank you very much for your videos! I have a small question: In a balanced position (on 2 hands or 1 only), if I fall backwards I can force my fingers so as not to fall, but if I fall forward, what to do ?
Thank you
Hey bro! Great question - this is a real tough situation. I personally close my shoulders so if I place the weight in the heel of my hand It doesn't feel like I'm going to come down that way, if that makes sense? Also try and avoid placing all the weight at the END of the heel - Try and spread it out over the entire heel :D
I made it yesterday 3 seconds but i Forgot the tips with the leg 😅lets focus this
Can this be learned with a tuck position if straddle is too difficult to do. By that i mean the weight shifts finger tip assists
Totally! Tuck Is a hard shape to learn to OA in but totally possible :D
What mean 30 minutes with breaks ???
Hey! It means to train this certain drill for 30 minutes a day but go at a relaxed speed, taking breaks when you need to - I should have made this part A LOT clearer haha!
@@JonnyOxtricks ok bro
So bro how to devide 1 arm training
Total 1 hour for tuck n different drills is enough?
Bcs i do muscle up n other training toooo
Hold a sec!
All this information? For free? Do I need to expect a bill or something? What's going on here?
Amazing!
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Haha bro! You're so kind - yep totally free hahah. Just wanting to release good quality free content! Godbless brother!
Paralette bar handstand tips ?
I'm awful at that kind of stuff! I can try though?!
😮👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
:D:D:D
@@JonnyOxtricks Yes😄Sorry Bro Do you Calisthenics Workout Regularly?
@@rnonthenicschannel4820 hardly ever :D
Vary usefull video! But why do u have ur thumb close to your hand instead of more spread out?
Thanks for the message! For me, I find I get more use out of my thumb by tucking it in. I'm able to press into all three bony parts of the thumb( base of thumb, knuckle and thumb tip), and this gives me a greater sense of control. When my thumb sticks out, its a bit useless IMO, by the time the weight has got to the end of the thumb it's not in a strong enough position to save anything!
@@JonnyOxtricks interesting! im gone expirement abit with my grip. love the content and ty for the respond!
@@acf2453 Hey no problem! I've gotten a lot of my students to try it - some love it, others HATE it. So no shame if it doesn't work out for you. I'd recommend giving it a go for a few days though, as opposed to one session :)
And stage3 finally we have the full one arm, this is very hard to hold so uhm.. yeah! Enjoy this😂 lol
Hahaha! Only way to describe it! It's Always hard!
does the free arm have to be straight?
Ideally but also don't worry about that too much - if you're able to get 1-5 seconds I wouldn't worry too much about the shape of the arm. Having a straight arm, I've found is the easiest though!
@@JonnyOxtricks I lost my full ROM on one of my arms, so I can nor fully straighten it.
@@djam7484 A bend should be fine then! We have to work with what we have 🤩
Im wondering who the stunt-double is, can hardly tell them apart.
Hahaha - It would have saved me a lot of time editing If I had one of them!
