Some notes for me to look back on in the future. Your flags are your weakest point and are far to inconsistent - prioritise these next year more than any other skill. Full One Arms on right are fine, stop obsessing over them. Replace this concentration and focus on Full Figa and transitions into Full Figa. Too much correction in the shoulder during shape transitions. Pushing high and keeping th...

  • @joshflinchbaugh5866
    @joshflinchbaugh5866 Рік тому

    I resonate with your story. I got addicted to it since freshman year of high school. I didn't really know much about Jesus growing up, but was for some reason close to Him. I was also very shy and didn't have many friends, yet His voice guided me to avoid these people and not to consume that, which turned out great for me (I don't drink, smoke, or curse and have great friends now). But back then, I could feel that presence start to slip away once I developed that addiction. I remember watching a documentary about the lives of amateurs in that industry by Rashida Jones, which made me temporarily quit for only like 3 months. Life went on and over the span of 2 years I encountered 2 separate moments with God at different times. Essentially, I prayed both that "I can't do this alone, God. Help me.". Both were answered. The first time was for me to experience what a living in a loving, happy family would be like. I didn't expect this at all but once I realized I was alone, sad, happy, and crying my eyes out I knew this was His work. And the second time was when I stumbled on The Chosen. I've never loved or cried in a show this much for a FREE TV show. He basically wanted me to work towards being closer to Him and to read scripture. And now I can say that I read the Bible daily and go to church every Sunday and do my best to live the way God intended. While my testimony isn't fully concluded, I still struggle with sexual sin but have conviction in God and Jesus what They can do. ✝

      Hey! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! So, how long have you been training handstands? Do you train on hard or soft floor? Are you new to handstands? If you answer these questions then I'll be able to give a bit more of a substantial answer! :)

    • @JonnyOxtricks
      @JonnyOxtricks Рік тому

      @@AzIbra16 Thanks for the information! So I would say it's normal to have sore wrists for the first 6-8 months of training. If you think about it, you've gone your whole life without weight bearing on your hands and now the wrists are needing to work super hard. If it's a sharp pain I'd recommend getting a health care professional to look over it, if it's a dull ache then this is pretty standard. Three things I'd recommend: 1) warm up your wrists before you warm up. 2) Do your balancing on the hardest floor you have - soft floors can cause more issue! 3)Train less but more regularly 5 minutes a day for the first month. 10 minutes a day ( 4 days a week) for the second month and then 20-30 minutes a day for the third month. Building up gradually after that. If your wrists are still hurting are 8 months I would suggest using handstand blocks, they're exactly what they sound like - small blocks you place under your hands. I've had students move to these and have greatly reduced their wrist pain! But as I said at the start, the first 6-8 months are going to be pretty sore! I hope this helps!

    Beautiful vulnerability - thank you for sharing! Although I follow a different spiritual practice, I resonate with some core aspects. I feel so much weight has lifted since having a foundational shift on how I view sex etc. I wish more people (men especially) would talk about porn/sex addictions, and as a society, that we stop glamorising these things and talk about the real harm they can cause.

    • @JonnyOxtricks
      @JonnyOxtricks Рік тому

      Hey! Thanks a lot! My stance would be " what's your focus?", If it's for cali then go for it! I always recommend basing your training on your specific goals. If your goal is one arm on floor then I'd say stick to floor :)

    • @ZacFelts
      @ZacFelts Рік тому

      @@JonnyOxtricks fair. I tend to have better control on a parallette, so I've been spending most of my practice time there. I spend a little time near the end of a session playing around with some floor attempts too, just for variety, and I've noticed there are pros/cons to each. I'm more likely to rotate out on a parallette, whereas I have less front/back control on the floor. Either way, I guess it's all just a matter of spending time working the skill. Thanks for the reply!
