this doesn't even feel like an interview, it feels like I'm just watching them hang out for a bit, I love it
Nobody is happier than John Oliver to hear a joke about John Oliver.
@@Omni0404 He is even making those jokes himself. That are Brits for you.
I suggest you look up RHLSTP. Richard Herring does hour-long weird interviews with other comedians, and he recently had John Oliver as a guest. You'd probably like it.
The concept of buying the dip is all about buying digital assets when their prices are down and selling off when the price rises just has the current market is down. Holding is profitable, although trading is far more profitable. I was to grasp the knowledge of trading crypto assets early enough, but i was still limited due to my lack of technical understanding of how to analyse the digital market , all that changed when i encountered Daniel Wright services. , although i have been into numerous services but Daniel Wright stands out with experience and expertise playing in his favour . I must confess it wasn't an easy task to learning the routes on trading but with the assistance of Daniel it was more easier to understand , Here are his details on Tel- gram ( @Danielwrightfx.
I know! My husband and I have always said they have the best banter together - such great chemistry.
John is worried that America would forget the harsh lessons of the Coronavirus pandemic. I mean he should be, his entire show is about exposing how people forget the harsh lessons of literally everything.
100% we have a short memory as a country
England may be odd in certain wayse, but why he wants to live in the US instead is beyond me
@@annemettefrederiksen7751 you heard it in the interview, nobody laughed at him in Britain 😂
Also as a non American I think I speak for many of us when I say your media (whether we like it or not) has sold us a rosy picture of the American dream so many people still imagine if ur rich in America it's better than being rich anywhere else
I don't think we in America even learned the lessons in the first place.
The harsh lesson being 'don't allow an OCD immunologist to convince everyone that a totalitarian government is ok because of a bad flu'?
John Oliver just comes across as anybody's best friend.
He's like the guy that stays until the end of the party and helps clean up.
Just not Jeff winger’s
@@ProjectileGrommet haven't watched season 5?
I like the 44 thumbs down. Reminds me of the jester in hunter x
44 thanks Obama, that's what my buddy name to Rapid on the New River that you didn't see coming and they just tossed you
I'd pay good money to have Seth and John just "Chat" with each other for 90 minutes. Comic Gold ! Also...seeing both of them laughing makes me giggle AND makes the World a better place.
Seth, John, and Jerry Seinfeld - in an episode of *Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee*
Canuckmom1958 from DeepSouthmom1958 - I couldn’t imagine having that much entertainment - but Comic Gold is spot on!
Imagine the two of them on something like the Dick Cavett Show. I'd watch those old television commercials again to see something like that. :D
Yes! I would love to hang out with Seth and John!
Seth, John Oliver, John Mulaney, and Andy Samberg
I love when Seth or a guest makes a joke that is only funny to people in show business and you hear Seth's crew lose it.
Yessss!!! I get that too! I don’t get what they are talking about but they are laughing so much.
I don't think anyone's adapted so well to an audience-less show as John Oliver.
Trevor Noah!
@@utoobjh and Conan
And Seth and Colbert.
James Corden, with his band.
Seth meyers?
They should really do a Seth-John-Colbert three-way interview, it would be fuckin awesome
Just an hour long Zoom meeting over drinks!
Maybe add in Kimmel too. And Jon Stewart if they can find him!
@@jenniferlindsey2015 It must be lonely for Jon Stewart under Colbert's desk on stage, since they haven't been filming in the theater for over a year.
Add Trevor too
Nope. It should be a foursome. Seth, John, Rihanna & Beyonce. :-)
I could never walk out on John Oliver. So funny...so kind...rips on everyone that deserves it
I dont know I've seen his stand up and nowhere near as good as he is now. But I've seen him present a show with the cookie monster and it was probably the funniest thing ever
Edit to say: that probably tells u a lot about my humour!!!
That was like 15-20 years ago, his materials are not as polished as he is now.
@@fahmizzzzzz Stop making excuses. You walked out, own up to it. 😈
John's 100% walkout story is brutal! Funny, but brutal! 😂🤣
"if he were ever to stumble on this show." - Seth on Lorne Michaels
Ahhhh.....to be able to throw that much shade at your Executive Producer.
he did that during a Bill Hader interview as well once
Lorne would just be watching Fallon anyway
eehhh im not sure thats really "shade" let alone THAT much
Most people don't realize how truly funny that joke is. Lorne can literally stumble onto Seth's set. Their studios are next to each other
@@apseudonym BRUH....ouch.
Wow, So glard that John Oliver was so confident in his abilities as a comedian . If I had a total walkout I'd have abandoned that career forever. He clearly felt his moment would come, and indeed it came.
Most people don't realize how truly funny that "maybe if Lorne stumbled onto this show" joke really is. Lorne can literally stumble onto Seth's set. Their studios are next to each other
He is also seth’s executive producer
And Seth was the head of the snl writers room for years
Oh you're so frickin showbiz babe!!!!
Perhaps my favorite joke in this whole video
Lol thank you for the explainer, now I can appreciate it.
John seems to enjoy himself quite a bit with Seth
You contrast this interview to Oliver on Fallon and you can tell just how much more he clicks with/is enthused about Meyers.
Fallon is a nice guy, but Seth is much more quick witted and genuine.
Seth and John personalities is probably the closest among the late nighters. These two seem like proper friends.
HBO has saved a lot of money on LWT over the last year, I bet. Yet I have grown to like it better.. John and his team really carry the show..
Nah, they then piss it all away blowing up the year.
@@deborahfreedman333 lol.. And I am okay with that.. Because that would be done regardless.
What money would be saved, exactly? They sell those seats, lack of audience means lack of income.
@@EclecticFruit LWT definitely does not get the majority of money from a live audience ticket sales. Not even enough to scratch the surface of Johns salary. Yet that was not what I was referring too. Talking production cost.
“They like grapes; who can stay mad at them?” John Oliver’s comedy is so sharp and witty. This is exactly how it’s going to go.
John laughing at Seth saying he forgot the nurses name gives me second-hand giggles so hard
I prefer no audience for most late night shows, but Last Week Tonight especially. The audience laughter lessens the impact of John Oliver's delivery imo
Honestly, it just turns the show from a comedy to a more journalistic approach with the ocasional weird or clever joke for me. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the show, it just steers it away from the "comedy" part, which is subsequently the main reason why I watch show. Although I'm glad the show is still running.
:D
@@mixmixed.comics3002 I agree that's the main difference. The comedy part was never the reason why I watched the show, so I guess that's why I like it more now.
Yes! Thought it was just me. Wish it could stay like this. I have to turn the volume down every time there’s laughter or applause. Ruins it....for me
Agreed
@@mixmixed.comics3002
The comedy isn't the main part, and it just makes the news easier to hear and understand.
I was pleased to hear that I wasn't the only weirdo who got choked up with happy tears when I got my first shot.
Quite an occasion, yes. I also asked the nurse his name. And I remember 🥲
Haven't gotten mine yet but I'm not ruling out happy tears. Symbolically closing the book on these horrible last 13 months - it's gonna feel really good.
Nobody can make Seths crew laugh as much as John.
John Oliver is always such a great guest.
His story about the edinborough walkout brought me to laughing with tears rolling down my face
I think it's spelled **Edinburgh
A black man with deadlocks in Montana gave me my first shot. Might as well have been a unicorn out here. Thank you Nathanial
That is a brave black brother and strong too..see education works!!
I am not sure which is more unicorn-like: the gentleman who gave you your first shot, or the shot itself making it to Montana. Regardless, congrats to you, and many thanks to your knight in shining dreadlocks!
I would like to hear the performance that John was giving when his audience walked out.
Imagine being that woman who walked out on his show so many years ago and then watching this clip now
Imagine being Seth's nurse ... She's probably pissed he forgot her name haha
Imagine that lady from the show and the nurse were the same lady...
imagine if dinosaurs came back would that be fucked up or what
The only reason why I’d like an audience again for LWT is because I want to be there lmao
Two best late night hosts ever
Yes.. great energy.. and Conan..
Craig Ferguson is a class unto himself.
Sorry, have to hold out for Stephen Colbert and Dick Cavett. John Oliver is in the top three. Seth Meyers is good but not in the same weight class.
Oh man. I am gonna miss this when the audiences will come back.
These two are so very funny together .. you can tell they are friends.
My favourite duo. It’s like they are meeting at a bar and having a catch up. All so natural and as John would say ‘objectively funny’
Somewhere a nurse who felt amazing and started to watch Seth show has stopped
😢
Poor lady
I know... She probably told all her friends.. I bet he ends up apologizing to her after he gets complaints haha
John Oliver is so generous with his big laughter. I love it so much.
It’s really the dimples though☺️
Eyebrows too 8-)
Of course, John sells himself short by conveniently forgetting to mention that he also voiced Wax Sherlock Holmes.
I saw John & Andy Zaltzman in the mid-00s. They did a joke about using reasonable force to defend your home, it was cricket based. I was one of three people howling with laughter in a roomful of Glasgow patrons who didn't know cricket.
One of my favourite memories.
Meyers, Oliver, Colbert, and Conan - LEGENDS.
Craig & Geoff...
And Trevor Noah! :)
@@stephanemignot100 don't make me cry again
so lucky to have seen John Oliver's standup, my body actually hurt afterwards from laughing
"...I remember I forgot it." :D
That's me with names in general, lol. Oh, and may I recommend the movie, _I'll Never Forget What's'isname_ ? That starred Oliver Reed. Oliver Reed, John Oliver, full circle. And it's about an insane industry.
Seth and John, the new dynamic duo! More pls.
I still like to watch Johns "Mock the Week" appearances.
John Oliver is a national treasure
Seth's note about him not being an Oscar winner seems like a challenge.
I'm absolutely looking forward to this upcoming season of Last Week Tonight as a result.
Seth without live audience is much better. I hope they limit audience going forward
Agreed. I much prefer it without an audience as well. Same with Colbert. The Jimmies do better with an audience, however.
I prefer all of them w/out the audience
10 is about right :)
@@realworkoutsforrealpeople5041 agreed; though the jimmies would also do better by not showing up in my opinion.
Don't worry dude, this pandemic ain't going anywhere
Seriously just looks like watching 2 friends catching up, this is the kind of story we need right now.
I cannot believe that they actually talked about John Oliver's voice acting career and didn't even mention that time he was the best cursed wax doll of Sherlock bloody Holmes ever seen on a Disney animated show.
I just wonder how many years it took poor John to get to the point where he could joke about his audience walk out experience.
'...they like grapes. Who can stay mad at them?'
Whilst funny, isn’t this a story of persistence and determination? I just loooove John Oliver
"I remember that I forgot it", we've all been there at some point Seth..
John we are all behind you, you are never alone, what ever happened to canned laughter, I wish you guys could hear all the laughter that folks enjoy even if you can't hear us.
the new state of late night is the one thing that sorta makes me wish this pannacotta would never end
That and, y'know, Panna Cotta
Their chemistry is absolutely unmatched
Oh my! I never noticed John Oliver's completely adorable dimples until now! Now I like him even more. 😍
Not in a stalker way though. 🙃
My two favorite late night ninjas I clicked instantly🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
John Oliver is incredible. Wish his show was on UA-cam in the UK!
I feel like Seth and John should get, like, a show together, honestly.
I also got choked up on getting my first vaccination shot. It was the beginning of hope for me.
One time I walked out of a show at the Edmonton Fringe festival, then a few days later, I was at a party and someone introduced me to a cast member and mentioned that he had been in that show. I said, oh, yes, I saw that. He said, “you walked out.” This was a guy I had never met before, but apparently he knew who I was and had noticed me in the audience and noticed that I had left. Very awkward.
Wow... that sounds like a skit or segment that would be on a great show that regularly features cringe worthy or awkward moments, like that. Damn. [But, you get to have this CSB to tell, going forward!]
My favorite thing about Seth and John talking is John's reactions to the things Seth says.
I love John's saying that bats like grapes so you can't stay mad at them. I don't know if it's suppose to correlate but I think it's beautiful.
Flora. Yes. John Oliver is so sweet and joyful and smart and humble and he's just do dear.
Nothing is funnier than two master comedians trying to make each other laugh.
JO laughing into his own elbow is so adorable
I so love Seth's impressions!
His Lindsey Graham especially cracks me up!
I think his Bernie Sanders is really good!
I think both of their shows are much better without an audience
6:39 John so cracked up by Seth's forgetting the name that hes like curled up... priceless.
..and Seth's look, like yep I got John Oliver.
His porcupine safety officer in Wonder Park is one of my absolute favorites. 🤣
Every time Last Week Tonight comes on I yell YAY a new Johnny Ollie!
That must be the craziest thing in the world to be the only person in a room and actually WALK OUT on a performer in the middle of their set. That's just so painful and uncomfortable to think about.
100% walkout. Can not imagine how an artist keeps going after that. The definition of resilience. That is how you succeed.
I'm in Canada, and I am the same age as John Oliver. When Seth asked him if he had been vaccinated yet I fully expected him to say no. I'm in the "and the rest" group up here and it's hard not to be jealous!
I love when late night hosts have comedians on their shows. It is awesome.
Seth is so well-connected, he is able to get many comedians. We need that all the time but especially now.
John's show works better without an audience interrupting him constantly. He's more serious too.
Love you two guys. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the morning treat.
The last min of this interview. Gold.
Not only is John a grade A class act, just his reactions to some of what Seth says is hilarious! Love him!
"...it had something to do with bats, I dunno, they like grapes,...who can stay mad at them?"
John sounds like the voice of the guy in the BBC anti-piracy message on their DVDs. "You have either bought, borrowed or stolen. Let talk about that last one.."
My two favourite guys!
John complimenting Seth's impressions was great and so true! The closer look was especially hilarious today, Seth nailed it.
I was one of the four who walked off. Sorry. I wasn’t ready for your genius mind. 🙌🏻
Really? Oh wow when was it?What was the scene?More details please for your one curious fellow commenter 😁
You scarred him for life dude
@@marshmallowdiptaco he has a great bit about it now tho
One of my all time favorite guests on this show!
I also got used to the void of john, but I can't wait to see him back in the studio .... in some months!
John Oliver... always so funny and smart.
John Oliver is the best there is, and Seth Meyers is a close second
I died watching this. Having a shitty week (lol) and I need this. My two favorites 🥰
We went and saw John live here in the Bay Area ( S.F.). It seems like it was weeks ago, when it was years. He's even my hysterically funny in person. I'm not sure how you could dislike either of them..
Those moments where Seth basks in a joke bombing are the only thing I miss about the audience shows.
I love these guys!
This feels like peeking into a really close friendship and I think that’s kinda ..... wonderful
Every time they get together there is random references most of their audiences don’t understand
Doesn't matter..it is a joy to see friends work together and genuinely crack each other up!
I love these two together. Why was this only 7 minutes?! NEED MORE!
In all these late night shows, the only interviews I watch are of John Oliver, and the chemistry between Seth and John is next level. I mean, I love Colbert, but his John Oliver interviews somehow don't have this magic.
Yes. Seth and John have great sympatico. Seth doesn't compete. Colbert is very competitive. It's required in sports but it's killer for comedy.
@@zeldasmith6154 interesting point, never thought of it that way
Really missed you Seth glad you're back made my day
There is nothing like the amazing sensation of delivering a terrible joke to its inevitable doom and experience the silence afterwards.
i wonder what they are like in real life , surely john oliver never performed to zero poms in the UK. what a time we live in these guys on you tube everyday , epic.
I gotta say I love these two guys but I love them even more together. Just great.
Give me ALL the John Oliver and I will never ask for another thing. EVER.
Omg. Two of my most favorite TV ppl.
😹 I love hearing the crew laughing in the background. TV/Movie crews are so hard working and we rarely get to see/hear them. 💚💚💚
both of them deserve an award for the comedic quality.
