@@dwestecott12 Firstly, sorry to the Hmong community.
As Ryan mentioned there is a community in Saint Paul, MN I think of Hmong people. They are a specific group of people or a community whose descendants are from China. Well, a specific region in China. And very small group of them. They tend to be travellers in specific regions in China. Have a different culture similar to Inuit people or Ainu. So either they make their own clothes have farms etc. But not in America, I think. I don't know much about them there. But according to Wikipedia, here is a better explanation. And I cannot link it here. And not all of it is here. Well after this sentence ->
"The Hmong people (RPA: Hmoob, Nyiakeng Puachue: 𞄀𞄩𞄰‎, Pahawh Hmong: 𖬌𖬣𖬵, IPA: [m̥ɔ̃́]) are an indigenous group in East and Southeast Asia. In China, the Hmong people are classified as a sub-group of the Miao people. The modern Hmong reside mainly in Southwest China (Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, Chongqing, and Guangxi) and countries in Southeast Asia such as Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. There is also a large diasporic community in the United States of more than 300,000. The Hmong diaspora has smaller communities in Australia and South America (specifically Argentina and French Guiana, the latter being an overseas region of France)."

This guy's brother (Eh Xiong) was a former co-worker working with me in Minnesota during 2006. Eh told the news that he was going to send the $2K and did not hear back from his brother. So the following day nobody picked up the cell phone when Eh called. Anyway, Tou Ger went through a rough divorce in 2019. He posted on his Facebook how these warnings were "ironic" because the US had mass shootings, and "perhaps we should be more scared of the crap in our own country". Given his "activism" and support for movements like BLM, it became obvious to me that he only acknowledged crime and racism when it is coming from a White source and origin. Others, he gave it a pass and excuses (a Hmong hunter can kill in self defense but not police officers). And he was doing everything he was warned not to, like drawing attention to himself. And he saw nothing wrong with hooking up with a woman nearly 30 years his junior. This woman earned his trust and then laid the trap.

He was the first Hmong comedian in America and an activist for our Hmong community. Unfortunately, his marriage ended after seven years, which led him to look for companionship elsewhere during his travels around the world. I am not blaming his decision, but it's an unfortunate event that ultimately led to his death due to unscrupulous people. I hope there will be justice for him.

Tou Ger was the first person to show me that you can embrace being Hmong and do whatever you want to. If you do plan on traveling, be on your best behavior, respect the locals, respect the culture, and don't make yourself a target. Im half colombian when i go visit my grandparents they say not to worry its safe . If you keep it wholesome like can says visit the landscapes eat the food museums etc you have nothing to worry about . But once you start looking for hooks up, club life and you start flaunting what you got chains , money, thats when you grab the attention of the bad colombians .
Especially if you stand out as a foreigner
For ex. when i speak spanish i have a mexican accent
Once i stopped by a random corner market and purposely handed the cashier a big bill for a bag of chips and he handed me the wrong change . Once i called him out on it he acted embarrassed and gave me the correct amount
On the other hand i would continously run in to happy nice colombians who would say they loved how i talked and where super nice and helpfull when it came to directions etc
So do your homework be smart and you will enjoy it b/c it is beautifull

I am Asian and live in Medellin. But I speak Spanish and don't showboat around poor people. Be humble and respect the people and you will be fine. Goto the bars and clubs looking for sex and drugs and get a reality check. Locals here don't like these people coming down thinking they can do what they want which is why you don't see much sympathy. This country has been through hell and back many times because of the lust for drugs in America. This country has paid a severe price because Americans can't stop their addiction to drugs. Now Mexico is taking the brunt of what Colombia went through in the 80's with Escobar. Stop coming here for sex and drugs. If that is your only reason to come then go elsewhere because the people don't want you here.

A lot of pretty girls down there (was there earlier this year), and many of the girls see gringos as ATMs. It's not confirmed if the red head is actually linked but what I can say is getting too friendly with too many locals (especially when you don't know their background) females or males will get you into trouble. Dating apps are perfect hunting grounds for criminals or people with nefarious intentions and its always a risk you take when you go on the apps in Colombia- getting drugged/killed.

I’ve been to Colombia a few times. I think whenever you travel abroad it’s always best to go with someone. Luckily my fiance is from there so she shows me the in and outs and tells me which areas to avoid. Also, don’t present yourself as a foreigner. Try to look like you’re from there if you can if you go out of the tourist areas. I don’t wear anything flashy or expensive just so I don’t bring any attention to myself.

@txiki5009 I would say other than being shy. She was like most other girls in Colombia, struggling to make money for her family. I also met her sister, who stopped by for dinner. My friends attorney arranged a meeting for last Thursday at the prison, but they transferred her because the other defendant escaped that day from prison.

My thoughts are with his family, and I'm deeply saddened by this incident, especially as a Colombian who cherishes Medellin. To prevent such tragedies, I urge everyone to reconsider meeting people in places like Parque Lleras or La 70 and instead opt for more secure settings such as gyms or malls where genuine connections can be made. Don't solely depend on wealth to win a woman's affection. Emphasize the importance of qualities like personality, character, temperament, and a compassionate heart to truly connect and build meaningful relationships.

Latin America is just some crazy 3rd world place, this is probably just their daily life.
Safest and best place to go and have fun is still Japan or East Asia, people made the environment, you need to do a lot of homework about where you're going, and how your race and skin color will be perceived locally(white, black, yellow, brown), do all these homework should help you, and also don't do drugs, hoes, gamble, if you do, you're just increasing your risk of getting killed, especially in these 3rd world countries.
