..Ever since one of my friends told me about your videos....I've learned so much...Thank you Linus.
I don't care how many Filco unboxing videos you upload, I'm going to watch them all!
Also I hope NCIX eventually starts carrying replacement keycaps, o-rings and other mechanical keyboard accessories =)
Been using this exact keyboard for over a year and i highly recommend it
Just got one of these, nice to see such an old review from LTT ha!
goddamn, old LTT videos coming in clutch
still got my filco!
I just got this a couple weeks ago. Love it! Worth the price if you type a lot.
i got this 3 weeks ago and having a great time using it
I have this keyboard, and I must say it is indeed awesome.
you should def try, its amazing!
Yes, any of the boards can be good, it's personal preference as to what keys you use. Some people don't like Blues/ Browns for gaming as they are tactile, but as I said it's personal preference.
Thanks for the suggestion, will consider it. ;)
Hey Linus where would you buy a keyremover if your keyboard didn't come with one? I'm looking for one to clean out my G110 keyboard which has accumulated dust, crumbs and other stuff under the keys.
There are a bunch that have quad SLI, but no mobo can do four 690's that I know of because that would be 8-way SLI, since every 690 is practically two 680s in dual SLI
Does NCIX have a display anywhere that you can test all of the different key switches?
got this one, and it's amazing. just wanted to share that with you lot'.
i freakin love my filco
Is there any difference between the different Cherry MX switches besides the color?
what are the differences between the different kinds of cherry switches?
Yea, I know. Still considering which to buy so yeah. Thanks! :)
I have a cherry blue keyboard, I like it a lot. Increased my WPM by about 7 wpm on average.
it's all about personal preference. the tactile switches don't inhibit gaming whatsoever. the real differences between all of the switch types come out when you're typing for extended periods of time.
pretty much no matter what switches you get, you will be much happier than you were with a membrane keyboard. i've typed on browns, blues, reds, clears, and blacks, and all were great.
EXTREMELY! I use MX browns on my Ducky Shine. I can never go back to anything else. I don't like blues, clears, blacks, or reds. I find that browns are the perfect mix for typing and gaming. Brown switches are amazing!
When are you going to do that cherry mx switch guide on tech tips?
Yes there definitely is. Search Google for "mechanical keyboard guide", the first link should be to Overclock's website. In there, scroll down to section "common key switches".
MX browns are wonderful. have you ever tried MX red?
What keyboard should i buy? Im a gamer and i play both FPS and RPG games (bf3,wow,lol,skyrim,cod) - Please reply!
Sorry, I haven't followed the graphics card market recently but when I last looked, cards with higher numbers after the first are generally better. Like 8800>9600. Wouldn't the 690 be better or is the TI mean something special?
What is the difference between the Ninja and the regular one?
I have the same keyboard but with cherry red switches. Its the best for gaming after trying out Black, Blue and Brown switches.
Which is better?
Sli setup with the Asus gtx 680 directCU2 top
Or just the 690 alone
He's right about typing faster, but it took significant time to get used to mechanical keyboards. i love touch typing so i decided to get cherry mx reds and the amount of accidental key presses was ridiculous. after a 2 weeks im happy with my purchase.
what was that video that was just up for 2mins??? then pulled down
Tks to Linus , im currently still using this keyboard
thank you for a new video :)
Linus, I hope you will do an overview of the Maximus V Extreme from Asus
Where can I try mechanical keyboards? I live in Denmark and I have only tried the Steelseries 7G and 4 keys of the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate! D:
is this a reupload?
is there any quiet mechanical keyboard? that noise is just too much for me...
Where the hell can I try out other keyswitches, I really need to try out brown and red to see what I like out of those! :)
I had a Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 keyboard which was smooth and quiet. I loved it but the arrow keys stopped working on it. I have been searching for a quiet and smooth keyboard like it for a year now and still havent found one.
It's not that hard to get here in Malaysia. Well, I want a tenkeyless and front facing layout as well. That's why. But yeah, thanks for the suggestion. I've been looking at Ducky's as well and it looks pretty good to me.
seems like there are no retailers of this product in my country :(
Get the Corsair K95 if you can deal with cherry mx reds. If you play a very twitch oriented class/playstyle reds will be great because the actuation force is so low.
where can i try mechanical keyboards?the stores in my area don't even have membrane keyboards to try
My local computer place usually has one or two mechanical keyboards up on display
I need either brown or blue. are the both same amount of tactile feel, I read blue is 50 gram brown 45 gram...!? :D
I was brought here by the mysterious UA-cam algorithm. It's nice to see young Linus
Reupload?
I'd love to get a filco keyboard but they don't have media keys. :(
Even a fn media keys will probably do. Who uses the menu key in between the right CTRL and right Windows key anyway? :\
What is your budget?
Reply, and I will give you some recommended keyboards for gaming.
This is a good board, but I still prefer my Ducky Shine over this, all the bling and more options than you can shake a stick at. Amazing board, Ducky review please @Linus
how can it be n-rollover with a usb port?
Yup i only have 1 computer store in my town and i go there every week to try and keep them afloat
If you're not a typing enthusiast and just want it for the soul purpose of gaming then I would recommend cherry mx reds. However, if you want it for fast typing and gaming I would recommend cherry mx browns (my preference) or cherry mx blues.
where to get that ?
Y U NO SELL IN U.S? I found this keyboard on the Canadian site but not the American site. Sad... you guys have better prices than Amazon too.
Does Filco have a website?
Whats better for bf3???? Evga gtx670 or gigabyte gtx680?????
what happen to your icon steve
Linus please test CM quickfire storm and check if it's up to par with Filco on quality. It's quite a bit cheaper and has a lot of features! :)
what about a cherry mx brown k70?
You can also go to WASD keyboards and custom make one.
BUT! Will it blend?
You don't really gain a speed bonus by typing on a mechanical keyboard in the sense that you can output more keystrokes per minute. You can, however, type more accurately due to the fact that the key press registers before they bottom out as opposed to a membrane keyboard which can yield a high adjusted words per minute.
I use a Razer Black Window Ultimate but the only reason I got it was due to the availability of being able to test out this keyboard at a PCWorld but since then I've not seen keyboards out on display anymore which is kinda stupid.
thanks
This is cool ima buy this for my computer to play FPS Games!! :)
No problem. :)
Yeah, that one is pretty cool but I couldn't find Cherry Brown at my local store. They are mostly Red switches. It's still quite hard after all. LOL
I just bought one of these, upgraded from a Zowie keyboard.
Didn't come with a key remover though.... odd
what mobo can do that
No, It's just a couple ways he says things....i don't know. i tjust sounds like it to me, but I couldn't know. Thanks for the response.
Huge difference
The 680 of course, though unless you're playing on a 27" - 30" monitor you may get more bang for buck from a 670 or even a 660Ti.
I agree with duaplex1, if only we could go try stuff out more readily
Linus, you should really use a Lavalier mic as the sound is very hollow.
Look at the upload date. It's an old video.
Does anyone know if Filco have a website?
linus can you unbox the 7990 for us please?
A lot of independent computer stores let you mess with stuff before you buy. But nope, the big box places like PC World and Curry's tend to be pretty limited, though PC World usually have all their keyboards on display for you to poke at lol. The only place I can think of that lets you try damn near anything with their stuff (which I'll get hate for, but who cares?) are the Apple Stores. We need more retailers with this "use it as you like within reason" approach to selling stuff.
Agreed. After all, i was the one watching a video uploaded at 1AM
like a sir!
can you get some ducky keyboards?
well i have tried a mechanical keyboard now i actually got my self a razer blackwidow ultimate mechanical keyboards cant compare to membrane
690 i better because you'll get less overall heat, and significant less power draw, although two 680 will perform just a little better.
Okay. Yeah thanks. I should really know this, I am starting a CS degree in a few weeks. I just usually go with ATI/AMD as I am cheep. :P
Sounds like a plan :)
Why you dont do reviews on Duckys? they are one of the best keboards on the market
I'mmaa have to agree with Enzudesign. Ducky 9800S is the best mechanical keyboard out there right now. Linus should really push NCIX to stock some so he can unbox and reveal their majesty to all :D.
MX Browns are tactile. They just don't make the sound when the switch is actuated.
I am here watching this during pandemic..
And a baby!
IKR.
0:42 What happened to typing with your face?
lol what shops have this sort of niche stuff
Internet?
You could try buying a Ducky keyboard instead, they're harder to find but very similar to Filco but with media keys.
Wait a minute didnt Linus Tech Tips did this unboxing previously already ??
You forgot to say you can get them with otaku keycaps. Or if you don't know what that means, it means completely blank with no writing.
watching in 2020 yo~
I don't know about the rest of the world, but here in the UK it's got to a point where you cannot just walk into a store and try this stuff out. We have no real computer stores and everything has to be mail ordered. It's a case of trial be ordering online.
