    I don't care how many Filco unboxing videos you upload, I'm going to watch them all!
    Also I hope NCIX eventually starts carrying replacement keycaps, o-rings and other mechanical keyboard accessories =)

    Yes, any of the boards can be good, it's personal preference as to what keys you use. Some people don't like Blues/ Browns for gaming as they are tactile, but as I said it's personal preference.

    Hey Linus where would you buy a keyremover if your keyboard didn't come with one? I'm looking for one to clean out my G110 keyboard which has accumulated dust, crumbs and other stuff under the keys.

    There are a bunch that have quad SLI, but no mobo can do four 690's that I know of because that would be 8-way SLI, since every 690 is practically two 680s in dual SLI

    it's all about personal preference. the tactile switches don't inhibit gaming whatsoever. the real differences between all of the switch types come out when you're typing for extended periods of time.
    pretty much no matter what switches you get, you will be much happier than you were with a membrane keyboard. i've typed on browns, blues, reds, clears, and blacks, and all were great.

  • @Ratjack
    @Ratjack 11 років тому

    EXTREMELY! I use MX browns on my Ducky Shine. I can never go back to anything else. I don't like blues, clears, blacks, or reds. I find that browns are the perfect mix for typing and gaming. Brown switches are amazing!

    Sorry, I haven't followed the graphics card market recently but when I last looked, cards with higher numbers after the first are generally better. Like 8800>9600. Wouldn't the 690 be better or is the TI mean something special?

    Sli setup with the Asus gtx 680 directCU2 top
    Or just the 690 alone

    He's right about typing faster, but it took significant time to get used to mechanical keyboards. i love touch typing so i decided to get cherry mx reds and the amount of accidental key presses was ridiculous. after a 2 weeks im happy with my purchase.

    Get the Corsair K95 if you can deal with cherry mx reds. If you play a very twitch oriented class/playstyle reds will be great because the actuation force is so low.

    If you're not a typing enthusiast and just want it for the soul purpose of gaming then I would recommend cherry mx reds. However, if you want it for fast typing and gaming I would recommend cherry mx browns (my preference) or cherry mx blues.

    You don't really gain a speed bonus by typing on a mechanical keyboard in the sense that you can output more keystrokes per minute. You can, however, type more accurately due to the fact that the key press registers before they bottom out as opposed to a membrane keyboard which can yield a high adjusted words per minute.

    The 680 of course, though unless you're playing on a 27" - 30" monitor you may get more bang for buck from a 670 or even a 660Ti.

  • @TalesOfWar
    @TalesOfWar 11 років тому

    A lot of independent computer stores let you mess with stuff before you buy. But nope, the big box places like PC World and Curry's tend to be pretty limited, though PC World usually have all their keyboards on display for you to poke at lol. The only place I can think of that lets you try damn near anything with their stuff (which I'll get hate for, but who cares?) are the Apple Stores. We need more retailers with this "use it as you like within reason" approach to selling stuff.

    I don't know about the rest of the world, but here in the UK it's got to a point where you cannot just walk into a store and try this stuff out. We have no real computer stores and everything has to be mail ordered. It's a case of trial be ordering online.
