MX Keys here. I like low, silent keys
EDIT: There seems to be some interest, so here's a followup: MX Keys is excellent, best one I could find. A tad heavy and I wish the backlight didn't turn off on its own, but other than that - great. The MK470 is only a bit worse and much cheaper. I've also used the MK220 one for years, only upgraded to MX Keys relatively recently. I recommend these two if you're on a tighter budget - small, simple, durable, get the job done. Also tried HP Pavilion Wireless 800, but it's bad

I use the MK345 as my keyboard and mouse combo for my gaming PC (which is also my first custom build). Glad to see it was not only featured here, but was one of the few to perform well.
Hey there! As a fellow gamer and tech enthusiast, I've found that using a reliable wireless keyboard is essential for an immersive gaming experience. While I can't comment specifically on the MK345, I can recommend considering the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule for efficient and effortless keyboard cleaning. Its powerful blowing feature can quickly remove crumbs and dust from between keys, ensuring your setup remains spotless. Just thought it might be a helpful addition for your overall desktop maintenance routine! Happy gaming!
MK345 for 5 years here since 2018 when I replaced may it rest in peace Gigabyte Force K6, and stickers have not worn in 5 years, if thats the downside in his review then I guess he can't comment on that, since Linus can't wait 4-5 years wearing out a keyboard to verify it. Not one KEY is worn for me and I god damn love it, just one of the rubbers underneath fell off sometime so that's an issue and also a bit harder to clean the crevices and underneath is now a bit worn and scratched but god I love it, I will probably just replace it with another MK345 and yes I have a M720 Triathlon mouse, and I've literally replaced it every 2 years and bought 2 just today to be set for 4 years as the clicks per mouse is about 10M before the switch gives which is right on the money, literally 2y-2.5y in it wears out..

I have Logitech K340 from ~10 years ago - with sticker legend - maybe they were clear coated or something, still they are there after all those years and keyboard besides a bunch of scuffs on glossy plastic looks and works like brand new. The response is also great!
Narrow enter key (ISO), in Europe this is the normal layout.
Dont quite get why he describes it as "narrow". Doesnt that mean smth like "smaller"? But the iso enter key is the bigger one? Non native english speaker...
@@paeddlhut Sort of! Narrow means skinny/thin, not necessarily smaller (it can still be taller, which this enter key is)
@@paeddlhut narrow means "thinner", which is technically true. Linus is a touch typist and uses american ANSI keyboards so he expects the enter to be a certain distance from the centre of the "asdf" row. It's a poor criticism, but I thought I would help elaborate on it.
But what's bad about it? It's better than the US layout one imo
@@raodio Yeah skinny/thin is a better wording for the translation i had in mind, still i that doesnt really makes sense to me. So he means narrow in horizontal direction i guess?
"The Enter key is narrow". Uhhhh no, Linus, they're different standards. The "narrow" one is the ISO/European/Japanese standard. The horizontal one is the American ANSI standard.
ISO Enter ANSI Shift gang
How would Linus react if he saw a Japanese keyboard layout haha

I've been gaming on a Logitech K360 for close to 8 years now, and I've loved it. It's compact so it fits on my old corner desk's keyboard tray perfectly with just enough room for the mouse and mousepad, it still has tenkey, the 2 AA batteries last for like 2 years, and yeah it's membrane chicklet-style keys with stickers (the WASD key labels are completely worn away now) but my touch-typing as..... uh, well, I can still break 100wpm with no problems. I don't remember what model the mouse was that came with it but I tossed it for an M510 about I-don't-remember-how-many years back, and Logi's unifying software and receiver that came with the mouse just paired them both up perfectly. I couldn't hazard a guess as to the response time in milliseconds but it's imperceptible to me so I'm happy. Oh yeah, and it used to have pop-out feet but one of them broke off after a few years.
Agree, K360 is incredible value keeb, swapped it for more expensive mechanical anne pro 2(modded, using it around 1 year) - its different, but even now I can't say which one is better.

6:18 I use this combo at work. I'm generally very happy with it as an office keyboard and mouse, even for CAD work. One small complaint - in an office full of other 2.4Ghz devices, the batteries on do not last 36. I usually start seeing problems after 6-8ish. It works, but its laggy. That is really respectable work time and its not a big deal, but far from the 36 months, if you are in an office with 10 other people with the same set + some wireless headphones + phones + whatever.
The legend is also rock solid, even on frequently used keys, it has not budged, and i've that keyboard for years now.
I've never tried gaming on it, so i'm not sure how is the lag, but for CAD and office work, it not noticeable.
Hey there! As a tech enthusiast, I totally understand the importance of having reliable peripherals for gaming. While this particular wireless keyboard seems to perform well for office work and CAD, I wouldn't recommend it specifically for gaming. Lag can be a major issue in games, affecting your performance. I've been rocking a Logitech K800 for a few years now. Because he, for some weird reason, is really biased against the ISO enter key. Which I don't get, because it's way easier to hit with your pinky in my opinion.

The ANSI keyboard is generally considered to have the more ergonomic layout and is more popular worldwide.
Me: sees title
Also me: looks at my very cheap wireless keyboard
Its got like a 50ms delay (not a gaming keyboard)
HOW do you know Linus is using a special device to test the latency and pretty much no company would advertise that bad of a latency and if you can afford a latency testing device then you can afford a higher end mechanical keyboard from brands like Corsair or Razer as well as custom keyboards from niche brands
@@zahidshabir4038 Pretty sure it's just a joke bro.
I have a 8eur wired keyboard
i bought a cheap fully RGB keyboard for like 35 bucks, but yeah it does have a wire! i dont see the reason to go wireless, it just adds the hassle of having to charge it and ofcourse added delay...

On low battery the delay time is over a second
I have the k350 wave and it's the best in its price range for sure ..also it's got some rigidity ability I've slapped someone up side their head and only had a dozen keys go flying so I was able to begin the second swing ..10/10 will buy again
I use that Klim board (first one). Im quite happy with it, and i only need to charge it like every 2 weeks. I personally would recommend it.

@@poeticsilence047 Tbf, it was a huge exaggeration. You can get 240Hz monitors for like $500 or so, perhaps less. Definitely well under $3000. Also, Linus is constantly concluding "Yeah, it makes a difference but that doesn't necessarily mean you should buy it."
I mean, the guy put out a whole video about how "4K Gaming is Dumb", so, no, he doesn't always recommend super expensive shit just because.
I think the "narrow enter key" is ISO standard and desirable for some people
I have an older logitech mx5000 and an mx5500, and they're both great wireless boards. They aren't particularly great boards in comparison to a cheap mechanical wired keyboard, but they're perfect for a media computer that's sometimes used for relaxed gaming.
Thank you for this video.
I feel like keyboards are probably the place you can skimp the most for competitive gaming. So long as WASD works, you’re probably fine.
nah
yeah its mostly the mouse that will be doing the heavy lifting, its why people discuss more on what mice they should get and not so much on what keyboards they get,

If I could find an old Dell Quiet Key PS2 wired keyboard, I'd go back to it in a heartbeat! It was built like a tank, and was nice and large too. I think I got mine in like 04 for $5 at a recycler lol.
Haha!! Great video, exactly what I was looking for. Was on Logitech but a bunch of the key letters disappeared and decided to get something "fancier" - nope should not have done it. After 2-3 days of use, the battery had to be recharged. Already looking at Logitech again.
2:11 *Narrow* enter key?? WHAT?
Isn't that the standard full Enter Key?
It's a European style enter key as opposed to an American one
Nope
@@Anything_Random Wtf? I tried to Google but I'm not sure yet. Is the American style ENTER key that "long shift" looking enter?
some are twice as broad
Calling that enter key narrow and even considering it a downside is pretty stupid ,its just a different standard
In some opinions a dumb one.
Well yeah it would be considered a downside when someone in North America buys a keyboard and it uses a layout that dominates in Europe...
Yeah, I don't understand Linus' hate for the ISO layout. I get that he's Canadian and they're used to ANSI, but as somebody who uses both layouts regularly, I find it much easier to hit the "narrow" enter key with my pinky. Also it's a little annoying for us european folks to hear him constantly bitch about it and list it as a negative.
Yeah I was confused by that for a sec, I forgot that Americans have that wide short enter key
@@16jms What's worse, they actually corrected that in an earlier keyboard roundup, calling it "the European ISO layout" (which I don't think is entirely correct, but better than "narrow enter key")
Been using a wired Drevo Tenkeyless for about a year now and can safely say their products last/work really well without any notable issues. Not sure about this specific board, but can only assume it's passable.
thanks linus, now i can finally build the website that i definitely need

The K350 is my hands down go to wireless keyboard.
I use K350 for gaming for years, great comfy keoboard
Personally I don't use wireless peripherals, because I'll just end up losing the dongle for it and in most cases it's impossible to get a new dongle - without buying a new keyboard!
I don't get it how peopole can lose their dongles. You just plug it in your PC, and you can forget about it, there is no reason to unplug them...

@@TheFatCarpBaitCo ? I wrote very clearly "If you're used to it you don't notice but everyone else misses the key when typing and it drives them nuts." what was hard to understand?
If you're used to ISO then you don't notice but if you're used to ANSI then it drives you freaking nuts. It really is that simple.
Both ISO and ANSI layouts are flawed, ortho enter ftw. Also ISO enter isn't comfortably reachable from home position with your right pinky while ANSI is
I'll admit that ISO Enter is satisfying, but as a technician I prefer ANSI because it allows for the back-slash to be with the rest of the punctuation related symbols, and as a gamer, the move of back-slash provides a better size left shift on ANSI. Some ISO boards also have a single-space backspace key, which myself and many others despise.
When looking at over $100 mechanical keyboards there is definitely competition in the wireless space against Logitech but hands down they win in the sub $50-75 category. When working IT I never worried about quoting a wireless logitech product, I always just reviewed the form factor of keyboards available with the client.
It was one of the most stress free things I could recommend, never had someone say my recommendation was shit. Heck a $40 combo was more impressive to a client than an $80 MS BT surface keyboard that kept disconnecting.
hey linus, i use a $2.2 keyboard and i haven't changed it since 2015, now the shift key has been broken so i am going to buy another one like this, when it is new it's keys are very hard, its a simple hp keyboard but after 5 years of use, mine became the most smooth keyboard i've ever used, even mechanical and expensive keyboards are nothing compared to mine, just put your finger on it and apply like 1/10th of the force you apply on a laptop's keyboard, and it functions.
PS; i've been gaming on it for 5 years.
Spoiler alert, it's not! *sits up* :#

I just brought Logitech MK345 keyboard and mouse combo today. you said it was good for gaming. Thank Linus.
What about anti-ghosting features? My main problem with many non-gaming keyboards is its easy to overcome the number of keys pressed limit.
An example of this in a game, if you walk diagonally, jump, and try to switch items at the same time, some of your input will be ignored. To me, that is way more of a deal breaker than latency.
