My big issue with these kinds of videos is no one shoots using Samsung in Pro Mode for comparison which in my opinion gives the best output. For cameras quality i think the video speaks by itself, i mean look at this contrast disaster on the newer iPhone next to 1 year old Samsung 3:33
The video was very engaging. I appreciate your honesty and thoroughness. I completely agree with your assessment that the Pixel is the best point-and-shoot camera. The iPhone seems to be lagging behind, and while Samsung offers many features, the Pixel's images are more balanced and natural-looking. In my opinion, the Pixel excels by maintaining consistency and continuous improvement ✨😎
I think the standard sound was way better than any of those other settings. I hate it when phones try to cancel out sound in video and then you end up with this hollow sounding audio. Just record everything and do it at high quality.
It's hard to choose between pixel 9 pro and samsung s24 ultra. But considering both use a lot of AI and algorithms to embellish the pictures, i think i like the S24 slightly more because you get more enhancement and they don't feel too unnatural. If you like truer tones you might like the Pixel more
I find the photos kind of misleading. By default apple gives natural tone while others saturate it to make it look good, Which can be achieved with photographic style on iPhone. BTW Cool Vid.
Natural tones meaning turning a purple wall painting white or a green wall on the ice-cream van to black? U guys really use apple's tongue instead of your eyes
I think because he used the "In-Frame" option for the sound there. Later on in the "iPhone Features" chapter he demonstrates the effect of the different options and when using the "In-Frame" option it sounds exactly the same. However when he uses the "Standard" option it sounds much better.
To be quite honest, I am disappointed with the performance of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. I'm not hating on Apple, but I was expecting a bigger performance jump over the iPhone 15 Pro Max. And it also did not separate itself enough from the S24 Ultra and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Sorry. And those reflecting lights are still there. The new coating apparently makes no difference. Just being honest. I'm not buying the 16 Pro Max anymore.
Every test seems to show the same thing on iPhone, it tends to lean on the underexposed side. This can be fixed pretty easy though as you can just set EV comp to +0.3 or +0.7 and turn on ev persistence in settings. On my iPhone 13 Pro I actually did this but -0.3 because I found it liked to over expose a bit. Colour wise, the other brands definitely push the vibrancy and saturation higher whereas the iPhone tends to keep things more true to life. Now I actually prefer this as I find overly saturated pics sickening to look at, but I understand that some people like this. They can turn on the vibrant picture profile which will make images look more punchy. I'm quite impressed by the Samsung, it has its problems but its certainly a HUGE improvement over how things used to be. The Pixel I find to be good. But there isn't really anything else to say about it. Its not special. Its just... good.
Great video as usual Tom! I do like the look of the S24 Ultra and Pixel photos, but the iPhone still seems to be better for video overall IMO. I currently have the 15 Pro Max, but I've decided not to upgrade this year due to the new iPhone not having any features I actually need over the 15. What phone do you currently daily drive now Tom? I am thinking of possibly getting the S25 Ultra next year, I'm currently torn.
Photo comparison is interesting because one of the larger criticisms of iPhone photos in the past is that it has a tendency to overclock saturation especially on blues. I’m surprised to see it more muted now.
Good job with this one man. I know you put a lot of time into it! Had to watch this twice! Keep up the good work. You're one of my favorite reviewers! 🔥
Samsung is still the king in overall tests. Iphone without a doubt has the better video and applications support, probably the main selling point. Feel like Pixel doesn't belong here, in my opinion the worst in photos and videos. Would love to have an Honor in the middle of these phones.

I would say it’s all subjective, but for me, I know I’m biased towards the iPhone when it comes to photos as an iPhone user as well as videos which nobody can deny iPhone is King
I think i like the iPhone 16's results the least. For comparison it would be great to have an argentic/analog picture of the same scenes to have a point of references in terms of tones. Purely on aesthetic (not technical quality) i'd say S24 Ultra, then Pixel, then iPhone. Now if i knew what the scenes were looking like IRL it would maybe change my mind.

Pixel maybe, s24 never, too bright, too much exposition, pictures look flat, blown away, small difference between subjects and the sky for example. Just compare the dynamic range on s24 and pixel

They are all top and you can't choose wrong. But as a S24 Ultra user i would say: 1. Pixel 9 Pro , 2. S24 Ultra and 16Pro
you're living in filter era! Imao😂😂😂😂😂
It's hard to choose between pixel 9 pro and samsung s24 ultra. But considering both use a lot of AI and algorithms to embellish the pictures, i think i like the S24 slightly more because you get more enhancement and they don't feel too unnatural. If you like truer tones you might like the Pixel more
Bro wants filter
s24 ultra still taking the overall best photos in my opinion. Could be a software fix for the other 2?
when it comes to high end phones quality mostly depends on software.
@@avatarxs9377 Unless you're talking about really long distance photos. Then hardware is still very important
I find the photos kind of misleading. By default apple gives natural tone while others saturate it to make it look good, Which can be achieved with photographic style on iPhone. BTW Cool Vid.
Misleading cos your opinion differs? Wow
Its because they target people who want ready to share photos
Did you just said natural? Oh come on
iPhone 16's photos are too unsaturated
Than even 15's
Meaning... You didn't like the results 👍
Natural tones meaning turning a purple wall painting white or a green wall on the ice-cream van to black? U guys really use apple's tongue instead of your eyes
So I should go for a s24 instead of iPhone 16?
I personally always used iPhone but if your looking at it from the most important angle which is the camera, Galaxy defiantly takes it
9:40 S24U sounds like a premium microphone meanwhile iphone sounds like a muffled $5 mic 😂
😂
I think because he used the "In-Frame" option for the sound there. Later on in the "iPhone Features" chapter he demonstrates the effect of the different options and when using the "In-Frame" option it sounds exactly the same. However when he uses the "Standard" option it sounds much better.
No it doesn’t? And you can just change the way it sound by turning off the audio audio mix thing
@@astrosnoot7943

And creator of the video himself didn't change any settings just straight out of the box
@@NajiOnTop Alright calm down! Ok so if you don’t like the way it sounds default then turn audio mix on then! I just thought it was already on.

Yes lens glare is still a problem, and that freaking yellow tint
me too tbh

Iphone always was dull.
For audio, Samsung galaxy s24 ultra is clearly the best.....the sound is insanely crisp!!!
What this shows is the latest iPhone isn’t very good except for video but most of us just take pictures.
Thank you so much ! Heading to the S24 Ultra for sure.
This guy is delusional ... The Pixel doesn't belong here 😅😅😅 In what world are you living in? Pixel has the best camera point & shoot camera hands down and you're saying it doesn't belong here because you're a Samsung fanboy understandable I guess 🤦🏽♂️☠️
@@yaboipookiepook Samsung fanboy? Calling me a fanboy just because I have a different opinion. I'd never use a Samsung, it's UI is terrible! I love Pixels, my favorite android phone, I just don't think it perfomed that well in these test.

S24 ultra shocked me 😮😮😮 pixel is king of photo, and iPhone takes the crown in the video department, but seems like the s24U is an overall and still manage to outstand them
Wow, what a great video!
Never knew all of the top dogs are THIS close to each other
One question tho, does this tripod make their videos more stabilized? 🤔
Thumbs up........great comparison and for your time making the video.
No picture in the blind test I chose the iPhone
All my choices are between the Galaxy and the Pixel
The Galaxy is the winner in this comparison for sure
We are waiting to see what the Galaxy 25 Ultra will do.. I think it will beat both together
S24 Ultra is ❤
Keep in mind Tom, most us aren’t creators, its all about the point and shoot, so the Pixel is head and shoulders the easy pick here. Also, to paraphrase Marques, smartest smartphone in the room
Your videos are perfect. Extremely informative and precise. Thanks. Gracias.
love it! thank you for the video!
The S24 has a 'ready to post' colour style. While iPhone is more like muted style colour, which is more flexible to colour grade.
You can always capture RAW on any of those phones if you want to colour grade

In overall, Pixel is pretty good but no where close to Samsung S24 Ultra and iPhone 16.
You can't go wrong with either for the latter 2. I'm leaning towards the Samsung S24 Ultra. The best overall. Video has improved a lot and very much acceptable although the iPhone is still better at it.
I'll be getting the Samsung S25 Ultra/Note next year if nothing goes wrong...

Bro, appreciate your work! I think you are the quickest one to do well detailed comparison videos.
Tf pixel and s24 photos look better in most of the images.
I conclude that the Pixel is best for photography
Pixel maybe, s24 never, too bright, too much exposition, pictures look flat, blown away, small difference between subjects and the sky for example. Just compare the dynamic range on s24 and pixel
@@diogor8968for you, maybe. But it's a matter of preference. All of those phones take really good photos
Probably cause the iPhone got no updates, and those two had a year already lol
Ain't no way any people with proper sense in photography would go for Samsung. Samsung has the most typical midrange phone photos. I am still figuring out how people likes oversaturated, overexposed photos from a 1200$ flagship phone. Its supposed to give Raw DSLR like photos
Galaxy cam is superb
S24 4:41 has the option to add blur to portrait
so does the samsung, but it's artificial, doesn't always work well (and sometimes not at all). the iphone is using real depth info it captured
@@Thetechchap All portrait blur is artificial. The iPhone just use depth data to artificially add that blur.
@@QuicknStraight You're quite right - but that is at least more accurate based on the actual depth of the scene
@@kunalthakur.307 I think samsung is the king of portrait for edge detection and how the image looks usually don't need extra edit for posting on social media
