- Welcome!
Today's video is a reaction to Falling In Reverse performing their song The Drug In Me Is Reimagined (a reimagining of their song The Drug In Me Is You). I will be reacting to the video clip for this one since it has come highly requested that I do so and boy oh boy are we in for a ride. Join me in the escalating insanity that is this song as we break down lead singer Ronnie Radke's vocal choices and feel the hit from some of the imagery in this video.

New Falling In Reverse - "I'm Not A Vampire (Revamped)"
I just can't wait until Ronnie reacts to her reaction
Me too. I'm hoping hoping hoping.
It’ll be good. He’s def gonna mention her hair is beautiful watch. Lol
Also he preforms this live very well but, he is more playful with it lve compared to this version that’s super theatrical.
That man is the damn best. 1 of best parts of 2020 and I needed it
His reactions to reactions are better than the actual reactions. He definitely knows how to entertain.
@@justingeorge3059 Sometimes he's just charmed. The Rocking Grannies one is killer.
I’d bet money that Teenage Julia would recognize the original song, haha.
100%
Still one of my fav powerful songs to this day!
While she was saying, the teenage Julia who loved (mentions bands) I was like...if she fucking says Escape the Fate she will be in for a pleasant surprise haha
Ahahah truth
Hopefully not, the original is a tween shit show.
@@forrestrobbins8074 it's an important backstory though, to truly appreciate the song and ronnie's growth as an artist
“I don’t think he’s at a full belt yet....” 😂
I thought the same thing. Lol
Me going like: girl, you have no clue what’s coming!!!!
She was right though wasn't she 👀
I mean she wasn't wrong 😂
I see people have already requested “Blessed Be” by Spiritbox and “Snuff” (acoustic) by Corey Taylor, so I’ll go ahead and second those votes.
actually Constance by Spiritbox
Thank god you're suggesting snuff bu slipknot, such an incredible song !!
Snuff seconded!
@@Kanas83 nah, Blessed Be shows off Courtney’s range more
I'll definitely vote for both of these to happen and also she needs to get on popular monster.
Julia: "Teenage Julia loved music like this."
me: "THERE WAS AN EMO JULIA!?!?!?"
I recognized that in her the first video I saw..which was Hurt-Johnny Cash haha
red hair, white skin, would have been the perfect goth girl ;)
Haha I was thinking the exact same thing
She's right in front of you. lol
I’m now in love with her.
Basically we’re seeing her slowly falling in love with Ronnie Radke
If you want to witness a vocal coach really falling in love with Ronnie, I'd recommend "The Charismatic Voice" reacting to this song. If this fine lady had moved an inch on her seat...
😂 I’ll check it out
she can get in line with the rest of us !! haha
Like she is with Devin Townsend
But in reverse.
I absolutely adore seeing people appreciate Ronnie’s art. His music is absolutely incredible.
Teenage Julia should listen to the original version so that adult Julia can appreciate Ronnie’s versatility even more. Thank you for this.
“I still don’t think he’s at a full belt yet.”
Me: *knows what’s coming*
Also me: 🤫😬
This is great. You should have done Falling in Reverse - The drug in me is you, first as that's the original version and you would have seen how the song had changed and how Ronnie Radke had completely changed the song but at the same time kept it the same. You should do that one next, then try Popular Monster. Love your videos and always look forward to them. Have a great day Julia.
Yesssss for real
Yes, Popular Monster is just overall amazing and again shows Ronnies different vocal talents.
Definitely agree with both points, I love falling in reverse and the original Drug in me is You is fantastic as well as Popular Monster
Well she can always go back and at least watch the original drug in me is you to get a grasp of the entire concept of having the same lirics but completely diferent messages
Popular Monster is such a great song.
I get chills every time with that last muted scream where the music drops out leaving just the piano on “see”
To me the craziest thing about this beautiful haunting song is that it is reimagined from an upbeat emo song.
Compared to the original version, this is a masterpiece.
Correction. This is a masterpiece full stop
All of the above.
The original version is a masterpiece too though!
totally agree, the original is horrible compared to this version
The original is great. It just depends on your taste in music.
👏👏👏 once again my friend. Not mad about the screams kicking in at all!!!
Chase, were you one of those who mischievously suggesting Julia reacted to this?
😁
Pause battle! Chase vs Julia - GO! :D
This song has been getting me through this year... I lost my wife to a rare disease in dec of 2019 this song has saved me from myself on multiple occasions thank you for doing a reaction video to it.... You're just so awesome 😎
Sorry for your loss, and glad to see you’ve found something to help. Keep staying strong!
mr. tomahawk, i am very sorry for your loss. all of my best thoughts for you, and all who are yours. i am glad, though, that you have found something to help. music is one of the best therapies, and falling in reverse has a lot of sings that help me. i hope this finds you better than you were yesterday.
My condolences. Stay strong!
@elektromanyaro yeah it's been pretty rough I try not to stay at home anymore. We put alot into creating a home but now the memories strip me apart and leave me emotionally drained. Traveling, music and friends are helping me to find myself moving forward and learning to focus on new goals. I bought cameras and now have been vlogging about it and its been a great creative outlet for me. There were so many complications with my wifes illness I went down a pretty dark path.
@elektromanyaro I found an outlet into creative writing as well! When im at my most emotional moments I've been creating small poems and quips, I even began a book based on these poems that I am still currently adding to. I've mixed the poems along with stories and pictures of our life together... I decided to face my fears of allowing people to read my work and decided to publish the book for everyone to see at some point. My wife, before she fell ill was in the process of facing her fears to try to beat her severe anxiety disorder. So I in return decided that I should face my fears head on, I've done so many things now this year that I've been terrified of. I've never left the country so that's another big one that I want to do soon I'd like to get a passport and travel outside of the United States.
This song literally gives me goosebumps every time I hear it, no matter how many times I listen to it.
If you want to hear Ronnie's raw voice I highly recommend The Day I Left The Womb by his old band Escape the Fate. It is just acoustic guitar and voice and one of the most powerful and gut-wrenching songs he's ever written.
FIR is still my favorite band since 2012 👌 Ronnie kills everything he touches ❤️
I'll take this as an early Christmas present :) Thank you and Merry Christmas, Julia. Have a good one!
I suggest you react to Corey Taylor - Snuff acoustic version, it's a very emotional song.
And also to Corey Taylor - Song #3 acoustic version.
If we're going 'dark' and 'Corey Taylor' then I'd suggest "I'm Not Jesus"
@@rog2224 If was going dark I would have suggested Scissors, Disasterpiece and definitely Iowa and I'm not Jesus and this one for me it's the darkest song for sure, not the musicality but just the lyrics and if you know the story behind those lyrics if make it even darker.
I'm going emotionally and another good song is Bother and Zzyzx Rd from Stone Sour.
@@henrickhansel Valid.
Both bangers!
He can actually perform this song very well and it sounds absolutely wonderful live. Ive been there live when he sung it for the first time. It is as good.
i hate the auto tune in this because its clearly unnecessary
@@bradhaines3142 its just reverb, not autotune
Nightwish - I Want My Tears Back (Decades - Live AT Buenos Aires 2019)
Spiritbox - Constance, or Blessed Be both great songs
I think their Rule of Nines one take vocal would be a good one to do.
Every damn thing they have done has been amazing to me.
I loved that the song built up higher and higher until BOOM. You almost feel it. It's epically great on a lot of levels.
Ooo you reacted even better than I had hoped you looked genuinely happy watching that one... You gotta do popular monster next
He actually wrote this when he was in prison. So it is a very painful song for him
Julia is assuring us she isn't psycho from the random outburst of laughter. Julia is also doing so from third person, and hurting her case xD.
Great reaction! Most in depth n descriptive vocal coach reaction by far n away I've seen on UA-cam 💯
Fun Fact: Ronnie writes, composes all his music. Plus: he is the creator of all his video story lines. So its all him.. The band is all hired as needed.
Yes he plays the piano!
Keep up the good work! Enjoy your channel very much... Stay safe and please stay healthy.
Hmmmm I pretty sure that a professional Irish pianist recorded this song, however I’m not 100% positive
@@busteman Sean Mooney did the arrangement and performed on the album.
Was waiting for this one. Well done once again!
He just dropped another song, called I’m a vampire revamped. You should definitely check it out.
Wow, oh wow, this was a HUGE surprise, incredibly, intensely masterful and heartwrenching. Julia, as always, your identification and explanation of what would likely be unnoticed techniques and nuances increased enjoyment of this video tenfold. Phenominal effort, as always. Love from Wisconsin, USA!
They just dropped a new version of I Am Not A Vampire today called Re-Vamped
really should have had her do the original first "the drug in me is you" as well as "popular monster", losing my life, losing my mind, and drugs
Now go and listen to "The drug in me is you" 2011
I'm so glad I ran into this vid, absolutely loved your videos and here I am... 7 am, still watching! Keep it up, great job! 🖤🔥
Beautiful Julia, thank you! Crazy to see the original song style to this one but this is definitely the better version. He is SO versatile! Writes and arranges all lyrics and instruments it's nuts!
Fantastic ! This band has been on my radar a little bit but they are firmly on it now with this song. Well done Caption Julia, Actual Julia, Teen Julia.
Finally. Fav reactor react to my fav song! Can't waittttt 🥰
There are some performances and performers that can only be described as masterful. This song brings powerful emotion to the surface and never doesn't effect me strongly. Thanks Ronnie.
AHH I have been waiting for this one!
This is the first video I've seen that has actually used the phrase "subverting expections" PROPERLY.
Good analysis as always Julia! Keep up the awesome work and the passion for music alive.
Please do their "Popular monster" and then the trilogy . He is extremely versatile.
React to his new reimagined song, "I'm Not a Vampire - Revamped" please!
As always a fulsome and easily comprehendable breakdown of a performance. Thank you also for not falling into the 'Seasonal song' trap. Hope your Chrissy is full of friends, family, good Prawns and nice beaches. Cheers mate.
Thank you for explaining all that. I wish I could put it into words what I hear like you do! Definitely got a new subscriber! Now it’s time to binge watch all your videos
Amazing reaction video! Thank you Julia! Cheers!
Such a great, in depth reaction. Keep it up!
React to his new song "I’m not a vampire (revampet)" please, Ronnie Radke is really a brilliant man! Hope you enjoy it.
The day this song dropped, I easily listened to it over a hundred times. Still in my everyday playlist too. Great analysis. Always fun to see the people I've watched for Dimash reactions cross over into my other favorite genre 😂
This analysis was fantastic, an art in its own! Cheers!
Falling in Reverse Not a Vampire u must hear! Absolute Masterpiece!
I love how video-Julia and caption-Julia interact :-)
Also you made a reaction video 4 times as long of the original video, and NOT. ONE. SIINGLE. SECOND boring. Thank you so much for this!
I really hope Ronnie Radke decides to react to your reaction video. You understand the technical aspects he chose.
the screams always give me the chills, amazing
I wonder if Julia has found the time to peek at the original version, dive in to the backstory, gain a deeper insight into the metaphorical representation of past temptations, delusion, and insanity that is now wearing the blue dress (who fittingly goes up in flames).
So powerful.
I am taking my life back. You can't stop me. You can't derail me. You can't distract me. You are powerless here. You are the ashes of my past that my enlightened future can now freely evolve from.
When one door closes, another opens.
Though it may start as a tragic tale of hopeless desperation.. Not a sad ending at all.
The way the lyrics and visuals depict that artistic juxtaposition is simply amazing.
Julia picked up on the precise moment when Ronnie truly snapped and made the decision to reclaim his life from the abyss of madness.
That scream of empowerment is beyond breathtaking. One of those 'resoring faith in humanity' moments. Well played.
In a broader context, we all have a personal situation that we can reflect back to and appreciate the lesson learned through the passing of time. Arrrggghhhh.. What was I thinking?! Very relatable.
I suspect angsty teenage Julia would have greatly enjoyed the original at the time.
Modern Julia? That piano and cello is hitting a bit differently these days. In a profoundly good way.
Great comment!! ❤️
waching you melt into the music is intoxicating. its not every day you see someone truly delve into their interests with soo much of themselves.
The finishing was really beautiful for real!!!
Just discovered your channel by accident watching some great music videos and I really like how you react and examine the videos and the music. Greetings from Germany
Cheers for the video mate 😎 👌
oooooo I was waiting for this one yay
Ok this is awesome... Good job.. Love the breakdown..
Late in seeing this but great reaction. I had never heard this band and I wouldn't have if you hadn't reacted to it. I loved it.
What a technical analysis,love it!
You were Rocking back at the day listening to such bands! You are great!
Love those red heads. Nice reaction. This song blew me away. It is hard to describe except, you know the guy knows life, and has experienced the pain of it. You can't sing this way, unless you have been at rock bottom, and felt emotional pain that people don't typically experience. True art.
Yes agree with everyone calling for Popular Monster by Falling in Reverse. You won't regret it.
Yes yes 100% yes 😀
Could you do more Falling In Reverse (Drugs, Popular Monster, etc.)? Maybe not your usual style, but the guy shows so much artistry in everything he puts out. Love your channel!
Yes!! :)
I love watching your videos! You're amazing!
I always find that I interpret the raw emotion in the sound and a lot of the lyrical messages right away just listening but I always have to check the lyrics after my initial listen. Just to be sure I'm hearing right... but that first time without the lyrics 👌🏾😘 PURE ECSTASY!!!
Thats how you pull, and throw raw emotion.
Love your réaction 😉 and your vocal description cute ! 🦊
Stuff like this hits me right in my late teens/early twenties pop-punk and post-hardcore days as well
Love this reaction!!!
I love your breakdowns.
Beautiful reaction thank you
So they just dropped a new song, I'm Not a Vampire (revamped)! I think you'll be blown away by the song and video. Please please do a reaction! Love your videos
Definitely feel things harder if I know or have read the lyrics. This song has turned into my favorite. It’s amazing storytelling and his voice and vocal choices affect me insanely. I enjoyed this video immensely.
Yay, someone mentioned Framing Hanley!! The Moment album is so damn good, Alone In This Bed is amazing.
This is going to be awesome!
Damn this still hits hard as hell, what a breakdown Julia!
It makes me so emotional watching people reacting to Ronnies music, seeing people finally appreciate now insanely talented he is
The part in which he sings “I’ve lost my GD mind” is the beginning of the chorus. In the original song it’s a much more direct transition to it so I understand the confusion.
I'm back!! I LOVE coming back to your react to this artist!!
What a journey...amazing 🤘
Absolutely brilliant video
Ronnie is so damn beautiful! Love what he’s wearing in this video. The song is amazing, obviously. Great reaction 🙋🏻♀️👍🏼🙌🏼👏🏼💜🇨🇦
Recommendation: the new one by Falling in Reverse, I'm not a Vampire (Revamped
Amazing reaction video I discovered here. In addition I adore your accent & found it to be very beautiful sounding. Plus on your questions at the end of if you interpret things better as a person through reading or listening, I myself interpret them better through hearing then reading. This is because of how for most of my growing up as a preteen in 7th grade, I learned about music & other things like it from teachers who were natural born listeners that absorbed things they encountered with the sounds they heard with their ears more then they did in other ways. The truest of the teachers Emily, could also sing in a similar matter to the hearing ability. They were an all girl group of friends, & at the time I knew them they also took me in for a bit as their adopted brother & during a time that I was having trouble with my step family I was growing up with back then.
This is so much better than the original, and the video only makes it even more so. Great reaction as usual!
Dude reminds me of Kilo Ren -- his body shape, his hair, his look/style, the angst… it's all there.
Dude's gonna be a Sith Lord.
It's his… _dessssstiny_ .
"I'm kind of predicting where this will go" girl you have no clue 🤣💕
I loved your reaction. Thanks. In answer to your question, I do appreciate having the lyrics because, like you, I process the meaning more quickly when I read them. However, I think that's the product of a more academically oriented mindset. Others probably don't process it this way. One disadvantage of having the lyrics is that it gets in the way of the imaginative processing that results in one's own, private interpretation of the music, which is really the ultimate goal.
First video I’ve seen by you. Subbed and looking forward to seeing more content.
I saw a misquito fly through in the background. And knew for sure she was from Australia.
Loved your vid and love your work keep it up!
Hallelujah is often said to be the greatest song ever written but ... For my money, this might be the greatest song I've ever heard. This evokes something from me every time I hear it.
Great reaction, love it!!!
awesome reaction and I love how you feel the song and lyrics. Looking forward to seeing a reaction to I'm not a Vampire and I'm Not A Vampire Revamped together so you can see how the songs are the same but so different!
I've watched this a dozen times and identify with her so hard when she's almost crying with Ronnie and actually laughing a moment later....Julia and I both live and understand that dynamic......
