Let's be real... this is flipping amazing. p.s. the fry example I give is just an example of the SOUND for your listening purposes so you can identify the sound and is not intended to be a copy of the full technique that Ronnie is using.

Hi Julia, haven't seen your reacts recently so much. They haven't been in my wheel house, sort of speak. And nothing to do with the reaction, but dang girl. That look suit's you. Ik, many have done Beste Zangers Euphoria song by Floor already, but it would be so nice if u or @Charismatic Voice would do that. They brought production to Floor so she could do it virally. She had that bladder surgery and wasn't able to be there physically. Love from Finland. And Grrrrr, you look like rocker girl these days, tattoos, and nose ring missing still. Maybe white highlights in hair. Lol
is there ever times when you stop to just enjoy and all the technical stuff falls away and you dont break down the vocals? I hope this doesnt sound mean, but its something Ive been curious about with many artists and coaches if they can shut that part off to just enjoy and feel the the music.
It’s a testament on how important lead singers are. Craig Mabbit should have stayed with blessthefall. He fit much better there and escape the fate sucks with him as the ronnie replacement
"Whiskey seems to be my holy water" is such a good line, especially with the vampire aesthetic. I mean, holy water harms vampires right? Yet he's addicted to it...such a nice line.
Been waiting for this for what feels like ages. "Hi my name is Ronnie, I'm an addict" always gives me chills. So glad you included the comparison with the original :)
The screaming he does towards the end is quite tough to reproduce even with some screaming experience. It's very much a balancing act between distorted scream and belted note right on the voice break point. This specific scream seems quite difficult, since you really need to be careful not to employ vocal folds fully, since you will just blow them out of existence with the massive airflow from the distorted scream. At least that's what the scream seems like to amateur me.
When I first started listening to screaming vocals, what he's doing in this song, is what I thought all the singers were doing. So as someone that has bashed my head against that wall and only within the last few years can consistently hit belted screams. Yes, it's incredibly difficult to balance, and you will tear your throat to shreds for days after if you are practicing it wrong.
You're trying to push too hard. It's not hard. Try relaxing, start with a relaxed voice fry and add a little bit to that. You can walk it up from there
Everyone and their mudda been reacting to this video, and for good reason. The video is obviously something special and the song itself grows on me more and more every time I hear it.... I'm starting to think this is the best rock song EVER.
@@jvoxfox Potatoes are awesome therefore your are awesome. Love your videos it's always great to watch and listen to you explain things I had no Idea about.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you did a video on this song. You did such a great job of breaking down the meaning and vocal techniques for it. Excited for the next one!
even editing it took you almost a half of an hour to react to this video, it means you really dig into his music, So im glad that you really enjoyed the amount of work and musicallity envolved into his art. thanks from argentina and sorry for my bad english.
I appreciated his voice. I would not have known this without you, which is why I remain subscribed, let alone that you are a vocal coach which makes it the more interesting.
Warning, do not listen to this reaction while driving! Instant road rage, lol. Super awesome work, great technical explanation, this is easily becoming one of my top ten! Thank you ginger friend!
I am so glad you came back and did this one again! I wish you would do all of the Falling in Reverse catalog 😅 Ronnie is incredible and never ceases to impress. One of my favorite aspects of the Reimagined and Revamped songs is how much they retain the melodies and ideas of the originals but hone in more on the feelings and ideas and present them in an even more powerful and gripping way. Not to mention how cinematic they are as well!
Digging the “new-ish” set up with more zoomed in Julia! Personally I prefer The Drug In Me Is Reimagined, to this one, but this is still a fantastic song. Great breakdown as per usual!
I'm glad you decided to reshoot this, it was very enjoyable. And I hope you won't cower from doing 2nd reaction at least for songs you really enjoy if something like this happens again or maybe even if you just have seen something before. Thanks!
Been eagerly waiting for this! Sorry to have missed the initial watch/Livestream. Good timing all around, since this music video recently won Best Music Video at 6 different festivals!
Great reaction, and a solid response to an unfortunate technical issue; I'm glad it didn't derail you from (re)sharing your reaction. Is it odd I kind of miss the goofiness of the box fiasco? XD
What a masterpiece of a reaction, thank you for this amazing 2nd time analysis! Now all we've left to get is Ronnie reacting to your reaction so he can tell you the things you wondered about! ;D But seriously, this is hands down the perfect proof of why your reaction content always ends up in my top 3 favs (no particular rank up there, thus just "in my top 3" lol), no matter for which song. ♥
What a beautiful song I've never heard before. But that was a super awesome ride. You are right when you say it was a movie , with a fantastic climax to it. So much beautiful building and ups and downs to he gets to the end of the song and it packs a punch. super dope song. I also loved the really syncopated rhythms in the middle. I haven't heard lines sung like that before and it's super powerful because of it. Awesome!
This is not "like" watching a movie, it is literally a short movie for sure. Saraya's acting in the video is also stunning (she is his girlfriend/wife). Great reaction video and breakdown as usual. Cheers from Germany 🤘💖🎸😍
Hey Julia. Thanks for making a safe space for me to come and chill. I always feel a sense of kindness, calm, security and trust when I watch your videos. Have a great day 💛🙏
I LOVE your interpretation of vocal performances. I've always been a huge fan of metal (especially growing up), and as an adult, I love how you break down not only the technique, but how the artists use those vocal techniques working with the arrangement of the instrumentals to reflect emotion! If you have time, I would love to see your reaction to the song My Curse by killswitch Engage (Howard jones has amazing timbre and such a deep tone and range, his belting register is insane! I feel like you would love his voice)
I love every thing about this video and you diving into it except the singer's voice. That section at the 12 minute mark was very fun and I too love it but again, right after, way to twanging for me. (Strange how my taste can differ from yours.) THANK you for redoing this video. See watching it for the second time counts. Please feel free to redo any video where the audio take a holiday.
I really love this video style, with the in-depth breakdown and broken down into different sections! I think it was an advantage to watch the video once before to divide the video like this.
That Shakespearean plot of an ending.. Ahhhh. So incredibly beautiful. Find you a partner that will show their loyalty and love by voluntarily sacrificing themself on a balcony. Not for you.. With you. Why? Because we all deserve to be that accepted, appreciated, and respected.
Yes finally! :) This song just tears you back and forth, pushing your emotions up and down and then releases it all in and explosion with those screams at the end.. Is this musical therapy? :D Thank you for doing this, and for including the cuts of the first time reaction. If you want another singer with emotion in his voice, try the legend Roy Khan with Kamelot- The Elisabeth Triology!
I like this stuff. I found you while I was going to listen to these reimagined/revamped songs again and I like hearing about it from a vocal coach perspective. I knew the songs were proof that Ronnie Radke is one of the great vocalists of the emo era, but I lack the vocabulary to describe how.
Great in depth analysis. If you haven't done the Falling in Reverse Trilogy, it's a must. A lot of music styles and vocal changes in those videos. 1. Losing My Mind, 2. Losing My Life, 3. Drugs.
