Hey guys just a reminder, Luke and I both work full time jobs and a video takes a minimum of 20 hours to edit and upload, so thats why each episode is exactly 2 weeks apart. Enjoy😎🤘
Hope you didn’t take my comment on the previous teaser as belittling the amount of work that goes into these, i just really enjoy the videos and am impatient for the next one!!
I hope someday THIS can be your full time gig as it appears to be something you both are passionate about! Lord knows there plenty of rigs out there just waiting to be revived and it appears you have a solid audience hungry for content. Keep up the good work!
Camera guy doing a great job. A lot of handheld video looks like the camera is suspended by a bungee cord. The camera is swinging side to side. Or they’re jerking the zoom all the time.
Jesse has really done a nice job filming these episodes! Really enjoy the uploads, surely takes immense effort working the daily grind as well! Thank you guys!
Just an FYI - mopars run the starter on the driver's side due to the offset of the engine to the passenger side - engineers believed there was more room on the driver's side because of this - also remember you're working on a column shift manual car which was actually relatively uncommon - most column manual cars were slant 6 engines with WAY more room. Glad to see the old gal light off - glad you explained that timing trick for some of the viewers - -
Every time I see a Plymouth Satellite I think of the B-52s Song "Planet Claire"....."She drove a Plymouth Satellite....Faster than the Speed of Light!"
Great job, the cameraman got the perfect angles, I'm learning a lot from you guys, and thanks for sharing another informative video. Please bring the "Mook" back for the next video and send it!!!
Something worth remembering too is that an old or worn starter will pull the battery voltage down low enough so that the ballast resistor which normally drops 13.8 to 8 ish volts with good current to 10 or less volts to nothing when cranking hence No Spark. I ALWAYS hotwire both the ignition and start to the battery when im playing with unknown quantity cars or you just end up chasing ghosts. Love your work Fellas
Look before trying to revive a muscle car. Make a check list of things you need and go buy them. Replace the items that should be replaced. Drain the old oil and take the valve covers off. Reset valves. Pour oil over them. Change oil filter. Fill oil with the right grade and weight. Drain anti freeze replace thermostat. Plugs, Plug wires, pump out old gas, replace with fresh gas, replace fuel filter. Check trans fluid and put the right fluid in it to the right level. Buy new battery to have the power to start the engine. When your ready to try. Rebuild carb. Because these old carb's are full of crap. The gaskets and floats are shot. New cap and rotor and points or file the old ones. Check the rearend fluid and change with right rear gear oil. Last if the engine is good and running then check and replace brake pads rotor and drums. Don't take the chance that a master cylinder is bad and trash a good old muscle car because your cheap or lazy. If this car is a good candidate to be brought back to life. Check it over before even trying to revive or it's worth the time or money. If you can't afford to bring it back to life. Sell it to someone who can. Sooner or later these relics will run out. We should try and save a car era that means so much to the Baby Boomers. Shawn
I love'em. Not sure why they even bothered with it. All they are doing is trash talking it the whole time. I don't see their point other then just trying to get it running.
Always drop the oil. Water settles to the bottom, won't necessarily show on the dipstick. On startup water goes to the bearings and people say "aww man, I guess it was parked because of a rod knock." Oil is what? $12
Love watching this video. Had a 1970 Belvidere back in the day. Could always buy cheap parts at junkyards and get it up and running. That 318 was bulletproof and light. Up north, the rust ate these unibody cars up fast. When working on the brakes, we jacked the front up then had to wait an hour before the doors lined up to close em, lol. Loved that car and got many offers for it even in rough condition.
you guys are very entertaining and super-intelligent about internal combustion engines. Those engineering degrees were not a waste of time. My son completed his electrical eng. literally this week and he's saved me & some of my buddies during our projects many times.
Luke you have the patience of Job (you know....from the Bible). It’s great to see young men with such knowledge and interest in classic cars and you have fun with it. That’s why I watch every video you guys make.
Single ballast mopars don't power the coil while cranking. Put a jumper relay on the starter relay to provide power to the ballast resistor when the starter relay is energized. It makes them start a lot faster. Also, the distributor is keyed, not geared, so you can pull it out to set the points. It will eiher be right, or 180 off when you put it back. Cheers!
JYD, I started watching your newest videos and fell in love with the channel. Now I am watching the older ones, you look so different! Thanks for the great content!
My fathers first car was a 70 satelite and was the car I was brought home from the hospital in. My earliest memories involved that car. Unfortunately I believe his car was sold several times and ended up in the crusher. Great videos guys save these pieces of history before they are lost forever
I apologize gentlemen. I have watched up till episode 3 of this series only now subscribed to both of your channels! My bad! Thank you both for what you do!
I am learning a lot from the video....it's funny and silly sometimes but I am learning about engines and that's great. Thanks. I am glad you are making these videos.
8 part series?!!? I admire your dedication to making these videos. After work, fixing whatever broke now, and getting my daughter to bed there’s no way I’m spending any time editing anything.
It is a Mopar so what do you expect??? All kidding aside, it has been fun seeing this old car slowly come back to life. Keep it up even if it is not a Ford.
Man...that's an oldschool Chrysler starter for sure. Loving the grinding marbles as it winds down after the bendix drive disengages. As kid we used to pick out and guess the car just by the sound of the starter. Chrysler products were unique to say the least.
Fun watch as always! Need to start using Shell Rotella T4 or regular Rotella 10w30 or 15w40. Need that Zinc and ZDDP for these old motors! Keep up the great content! 💜🤘
On the timing, I use a test light hooked to points . Set timing mark to 12 degrees btdc. Turn dizzy, when the light goes off I know that's when to try to start engine. Works every time.
Hey Guys! What a fun series. Great video. I'm really enjoying this. You guys bring a lot of fun to this. Best of all things to you and your's. Great job.
18:30 Special service tool Part No: BFG (Big F****** Hammer) works on starter solenoids, floats, needle and seats. Excellent multi purpose Special service tool
13:53 "We finally got a good high-five". Focus on the elbow bro and you'll never miss. If both parties look at the other person's elbow, it's the perfect high-five every time man #Lifehack.
I daily drove a 1952 Chevy and will soon be in a 1940 Chevy. You guys make me want to save up for a junker so I can learn to do this stuff myself instead of paying someone else to,
You'd love the brake bleeders on my 74 GMC Sierra. Fronts are 3/8ths, back brake bleeders are 10mm... So at least I know the rear brakes have been serviced at some point.

Definately enjoying the roadtrip/revival series!
it's worth the wait :) thank you
Don’t mind waiting at all

can we get a shoutout to his brother for filming? Usually people have trouble focusing the camera but this is crisp!
Lumix auto focus does wonders, but yes were super appreciative of Jesse filming🤘
@@JunkyardDigs … does anyone still use film?
Brother you always do a fantastic job filming. You have a real talent for keeping it it steady and getting good angles. Kudos to you.
I was thinking the same thing. There’s three of them there during this project. As always, another great video from you guys!
Camera guy doing a great job. A lot of handheld video looks like the camera is suspended by a bungee cord. The camera is swinging side to side. Or they’re jerking the zoom all the time.
Kev - sprays "starter fluid" on starter...
Luke: did it work?
Kev: no...
this. is why i'm here.

Love it
I loved the spontaneity of that too!
Kudos to your brother on his filming skills. He does a fantastic job!
11:15 This harkens back to part 4 of the F250 revival. Luke: "ya ever think that we're stupid?" Kevin: "All the time...."
Get someone that knows what they are doing. Talk about bush mechanics.
Jesse has really done a nice job filming these episodes! Really enjoy the uploads, surely takes immense effort working the daily grind as well! Thank you guys!
I love it when thunderhead joins the crew! Two car minds, better than mine!
I really enjoy watching you guys working together. It's educational and entertaining at the same time! Keep up the great work!

New title for this series “Two ford guys work to get a mopar started when their mopar guy is at work”
Dylan Kane two ford guys make a mopar better than it ever was
I don’t think Mr. McCool is going to be happy with that statement.
ThunderHead289 Unsubscribed.
Thanks Luke for showing how to check a coil when it's on the engine. I'd never thought of that before.
Every time I see a Plymouth Satellite I think of the B-52s Song "Planet Claire"....."She drove a Plymouth Satellite....Faster than the Speed of Light!"
You guys are awesome . You 2 , Dylan McCool and Vice Grip Garage are the best . Keep the videos coming . Much respect from Louisville Ky .

@Junkyard Digs - Tip for finding #1 cylinder, when looking at the offset of the heads the cylinder protruding forward the most is always #1
"Let's just take the spacer off before it gets too hot".
Proceeds to turn into a bonfire.
Does anyone even like Mopar?
Mopar or no car for me . Dylan if you were there you guys would already be doing donuts and burn outs
Love mopar. But own gm cause parts are cheaper
only smart people
Best Mopar ever...Blasphemi.

This series just keeps getting better! Some of the stuff you are doing I have never seen done before. #SKETCH
Always drop the oil. Water settles to the bottom, won't necessarily show on the dipstick. On startup water goes to the bearings and people say "aww man, I guess it was parked because of a rod knock." Oil is what? $12
I say its stopped cuz a bearing got hot.
I agree, never start an engine that sat more than six months without fresh oil
Say Whut? Or it was low on oil and full of water. How’s that rocket flying now?
Maybe $12 when that car was in the showroom. It's like $8 a quart nowadays.
@@andreww3278 You're overpaying, I get full synthetic valvoline for $5 a quart
