This was probably written by a contract author using a site like Upwork or Textbroker, where they're basically given a prompt, pay level, and deadline. This encourages writing bullshit as quickly as possible to maximize your hourly rate. The vast majority of "top X" or "best X" articles come from this kind of thing, because they show up in searches and generate clicks.

What blows my mind is the way they mentioned the Engineer. They were so obssesed with the core Engineer, that the word CORE is mentioned all but 3 times in the whole article and all of them in the engineer class! For every single other Profession they mentioned at least one Elite Spec but the enginner is just... Core Bad.

If this was indeed written by an AI, that would kind of make sense imo. If you were to look at all of the articles written on the internet regarding engi, the phrase "core engi" probably comes up a lot, more than any other class considering that core engi was a popular build topic for years prior to elite specializations (and even afterwards somewhat).
Ranger where your allies damage is your own because everyone is your pet.
Revenants have 2 healing skills: one for each legend. Guardians and their F2 skills. Water skills for Elementalists. Just to name a few.

You are closer to the truth than you think. Sites just use bots now to aggregate data from all sorts of sources and then try to make an article about tier lists and guides, for a game they have never played. Sites like The Gamer, MrGuider, PocketTactics etc. are notorious for that sort of shit. Some tier lists actually confuse patch names or locations with classes, kinda like the equivalent of saying that the No. 1 DPS is actually Heart of Thorns.

As a thief main, this made me laugh. I adore thief, as I said it's my main, but I am under no illusion whatsoever that my favorite class is a high DPS class. It CAN produce a lot of DPS, if you're a pianist and have precision timing, but it's a lot of work and one wrong move ruins the entire rotation. Yeah, I agree this was an AI generator or something, because even newbie players quickly learn with a few hours of talking to the community what the best classes are.
I am going to grab my solo target Theif to tag as many enemies in the Mad Kings Lab this year.

I will say this about DPS classes: Yesterday I brought my Soulbeast main out of hibernation after playing mostly my Mechanist for the last few months, and that switch made me realize just how obnoxiously OP Mechanist still is. The auto-explosions of rifle, the Mech able to instantly nuke trash mobs, Shift and Barrier signets, like 700 breakbar damage available...the whole package together is just plain ridiculous. My Soulbeast felt crippled by comparison.
yeah I find power rifle mech boring to play but I feel like im not contributing as much on weaver, scourge, tempest, or really anything else because of just how much utility mech brings. Along with not high but very consistent damage.
Were you playing axe/axe soulbeast? Cause even a no weapon-swap low intensity a/a power soulbeast can outperform a power mech doing a full rotation atm in terms of raw damage output.
It's true that the boon-rip from mine, extra cc, free stun-break and teleport all outclass most dps classes in terms of access to utility, but in terms of total damage and burst damage it's very noticeably sub-par to almost everything atm.
@@kajhall3581 In terms of raw DPS meter numbers, you're right that Mechanist isn't that high. I was referring to the total bag of tricks that Mechanists have.
@@kajhall3581 dont play soul beast. mostly scourge and weaver/catalyst. Catalyst especially I feel like im not pulling my weight since all I can really do is dps since element swapping to air for CC is a huge interrupting to the dps rotation

There are ways around this at the cost of a little dps. Power weaver with fresh air and sword/daggerallows you to easily gain access to dagger 5 for cc without much interruption. Using the elite skill to summon the lightning elemental can also allow you to bring in more cc without much of a personal sacrifice.
Going scepter/focus condi tempest or cata will allow you to keep air attunement open for the massive knockdown on focus 5 in air and even the daze in water focus 5.
A fire-only scepter/focus tempest can get to 31k dps and 32k dps on catalyst. This lower intensity build allows you to still do very consistent damage will leaving water, air, and earth open for you to be more reactive to the fight.
Articles like this are spammed on every MMO... Lotro is an old game and articles like this are always created. The latest one had classes that didnt even have a dps spec as the highest damage performers....

Okay, this article is absolutely ridiculous for everyone who played this game more than a few hours...
But to give them that little bit of credit, they were mostly talking about the classes, not their specializations. So their statement that "there's always a DPS version of the Class" isn't completely wrong.
Btw.: Next time a Thief is below my pMech in a DPS-Encounter, I'll show them this article, so he knows that his button smashing should be "easily" better than my button smashing :D
This is an SEO article for sure. To be fair, that probably means someone who haven't played the game that much might have been asked to "just write a GW2 article".
Just look up "Guild Wars 2 Review" on UA-cam and you'll find a whole load of videos by people who haven't so much as opened the gw2 wiki, joined any discords, interviewed a single experienced player, or played for more than a day themselves.
Trusting anyone's "review" in this day and age that doesn't have hoards of videos already on the topic is just throwing literal shit at the fan and using whatever random marker it lands on to say words for the sake of "content".

I feel strongly about things like this, as I'm sure a lot of people do. I think if articles that are clearly written by A.I. are used, we should take it upon ourselves to write in or Twitter blast or whatever the latest method of drawing attention to things is. If it isnt that contentious, it wont gain traction. If it does strike a chord, perhaps the content provider will be deterred or shamed into stopping. If it was just some lazy, fraudulent hack that copied an article or pieced it together from someone else's work, then their site or platform should be avoided.
There's literally thousands of websites like this about all sorts of content.
You got these for sports, for news, for people stuff & so on. All of it is just empty clickbait, all of the text will redirect to other articles and basically provide no content, and you will get a shit load of adds but not obnoxious enough that you would leave the page. Naturally most of the information provided is actually false and there is no such thing as "checking" or "journalism" being done on these websites ... Good luck trying to get all of them "canceled" and "shamed into being avoided"

I'm going to be blunt: If there is someone running around as a Max DPS Thief in Mad King's Labyrinth, someone deserves to die painful deaths. The front of the Mad King Zerg SHOULD NOT BE KILLING THE MOBS. I'm sick and tired of being in a Mad King's Lab and all of the minions are one shot by 1-2 thieves racing each other to get the most kills in a 20+ person group.

Gonna have to play devil's advocate on behalf of this....person?....algorithm?.....collection of ones and zeroes? Whatever it is. When they say healing skills they are likely not specifically referring to the game's jargon of "specifically the skill in the 6th slot", but rather just a skill that has a healing component. Only one slot may be allocated for a "healing skill" but others can have skills that have healing. Also, every class technically has multiple 6th slot healing skills. You can just only choose one to use at a time. Initially I also thought they meant tool kit in a general sense to refer to the engineers arsenal of skills, but after seeing the random namedrop of skills in the later classes, you might have actually been correct with your interpretation of that one. Either way this was hilarious to watch you read out. And no matter how you interpret any of this, anyone who plays guild wars 2 would realize this is some of the most hilariously inaccurate, clickbaity, and just plain wrong articles....possibly ever? I'm sure with enough digging you could find worse. But this one has to be up there.

How can you state you are a GW2 content creator with probably thousands of hours in game yet don't know of any class that has multiple healing abilities, and I don't mean the full on healer classes or builds, i am talking about standard DPS/ tank builds skills as example, right off the bat i can think of Engineer that has 3(Healing mist, Healing turret, Supply crate), Hunters also has multiple plus can have healing pet, Warriors i.e signate, Gaurdians i.e smite etc,
I'm quite aware. I was specifically referring to being able to select two of the primary healing skills at once (the "6" slot by default)
