- A how-to on installing the American Adventure Lab High Line LED's on your 2018-2020 Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon, Saraha, Moab models, as well as 2019-2020 Jeep Gladiator JT models, while keeping most of the factory fender liner intact.

I never thought of trimming it like that and leaving the fender liner in there. Nice work and great idea!
Thanks for putting this video together. About to embark on this journey next week. I've had the lights in the box for months because I was not a fan of exposing the side off the engine to the NE winter elements. Being able to keep the inners really makes me happy. Not ready to drop that money on inners before tires and a lift.
Nice video! Glad I found yours that actually left the liner in place 🙌
Glad to help
Thank you, for posting this. That’s the look I want and wanted to see how they look without removing the inner fenders/doing a full chop.
Awesome video....was going to put mine in the same way ....didn't like taking all that fender support out ....so glad I found your video.....great job .....
Good luck with your project.
Awesome video!! Thank you for posting!
I'm wanting to do similar! Thanks a ton for the video!
I’ve been eyeing these lights!
I see them in your future!
Awesome video. I'm installing these soon and wanted to keep as much as possible inner fender liner and support.
Good luck. Before using American adventure lab, look at the quake version. I don’t believe that American adventure lab truly stands behind their product when it fails. Quake uses the same design
@@ExfilOffRoad Thanks! I actually did get the Quake version (hadn't heard of American Venture Lab until I saw your video). They look like a very similar design though and I've heard good things in general about their gear.
excellent video, well done
Thank you. Also see the new one I did on the gladiator, pretty much the same thing but better views of the inner liner and cuts.
Thank you for making this. I want these lights and want to install them exactly the same way. Only thing holding me up now is figuring out how to get them to blink instead of of chase on the turn signal
Go with quake led. American adventure lab is trash for standing behind their product.
Awesome. Thanks
You bet!
Nice video, and thanks for all the time you spent to show the details!
Question for you-Now that you’ve done this mod, and you’ve seen the kit and parts firsthand, would it be possible for me to do the same mod, but to trim my black plastic lower down to meet the lower horizontal line of the new DRL instead of the upper one?
The only people I’ve seen keep the liners trimmed theirs the way you did. I’d like to trim down lower, but since nobody seems to be doing that, I’m wondering if the pieces don’t fit that way or if something obstructs the pieces or whatever else gets in the way?
I would suggest doing it and cutting it where you want and then if It doesn’t work or doesn’t look right, trim higher. You can always trim more, not get it back.
Great video just subscribed! How’s the lights holding up without that bolt in the fender? Did you substitute it with anything?
David Choi working great, no issues yet. And no I didn’t do anything else to secure it.
Maybe a stupid question but what is the name/brand of the little electric cutoff tool you used to do your trimming?
Dremel
Do you have other pics of the car.? Ig? I want to do the same project. And see where you cut more or less. What dremel bits did u use
IG yes but not sure if there will be enough of what you are looking for. thatyetijl
How many screws and bolts were there to remove the stock bracket and light?
Eric Pascual a bunch of them. I don’t recall the number. But as you go, just go slowly and look at what is holding the trim together.
Great video. Maybe using heat gun would had helped at the end forming the liner into the light?
Probably, didn’t even think of it 🤣
I am going to do this in the next few weeks. Since this was 2 years ago, have you found a way to secure that corner?
Still have it the same way, have had zero issues. If you look at the newest video of this, I take the inner liner out as well on my gladiator.
do they work fine when you set the lights into AUTO?
abdullah almullahi they perform like factory.
Do you have the led package for your rubicon?
yes
I wish I would have installed mine like this instead of doing the inner liner delete method.
Which are brighter? These or factory led turn signals?
Truck Driver the AAL High Line are brighter, and crisp.
Exfil how is the led plastic holding up? MSG C
It’s ok, pretty yellow. Go with quake led I think they have a better product.
Can I add these like to my 2016 Jeep jk?
Jonathan Villavicencio no, JL, JT specific fit.
I have been visualizing doing this if I get a Willys. Good video. What tattoo did you cover up?
Ben C right now they only make these lights for the Sahara and Rubicon trims
@@ExfilOffRoad I don't think it matters doing it the way you are?
Ben C the issue comes with the way the light is designed, you have to split the fender, the Sahara and Rubicon come apart, lower trims do not. It’s one solid piece of plastic you cannot split, you would have to cut it apart
Can you give me some more pic for more details about your fender cut? Thank you
Sky Mai check out the update video. See if that gives you what you want
How did you remove the liner without breaking or drilling the rivet clips?
I never removed the full inner liner. Any clips you would be referring to were removed if needed using a trim tool kit for removing trim/plastic rivers etc.
@@ExfilOffRoad I got it figured out. All done! Thanks for the video
What exhaust do you have?
Giancarlo Dinklang weird question for this video 😂 but I have a Wraith Off-road high clearance cat back on it. Super throaty
Do you have LED Light package when purchased your JL or was it the Halogen package?
Yes I have led. If you purchase, I’m not sure if they are included, get the in line adapter to the order. It will make it so no errors occur. Or get a tazer
@@ExfilOffRoad thank you
@@ExfilOffRoad I have halogens, will the adapter handle the same as the tazor
gwm4tennis the adapter should make it so no codes come up
Can you tell me the thickness of the LEDs
it’s nice man!!! but you should be careful in heavy snow conditions!! It’s not visible in that condition! I was driving from Montreal to Ottawa in new year’s eve in heavy snow condition and I couldn’t see even in 5m away!!! So I drove 25~35km!! haha I am looking for the solution!! Lete know if you have any idea! Anyway nice video!!
직장인작가 what is not visible?
THAT YETI JL the snow reflects white light of led!! I think hologen light is better in that bad condition!
직장인작가 oh ok, yea you would want to turn off your lights and use an amber lens on your off road lights. I have the rigid lights with amber covers that are removable.
직장인작가Part Time Artist this vid is about led turn signals. How did snow get into the mix?
Wish was in Jersey to help a brother out
For sure. Though I think if you take your time, you got it! Check out the new one I did on my gladiator. It shows some real detailed shots
What is an in-line?
Eric Pascual I am referring to a connector that has a computer chip in it that makes the Jeep adjust to the lights.
Do some jeeps need that? Does American lab provide that now or no? It’s like 50/50 if it’s going to work lol. Also the stock fender plug is just hanging in there by itself under the inner fender liner not being used?
Eric Pascual they do for the Jeeps with LED package. The factory plug is used, it just hanging there. Not sure if you watched the entire video but I believe it’s all there.
Should I remove the frame.?
What frame?
EXFIL OFF-ROAD I mean the fender
حصريات Hasryaat you could, but this video doesn’t show that way. You only need to remove the fender if you wish to remove the entire fender liner. My video shows an option to leave most of the liner in place.
I was wondering if you can submit a video of exactly where you cut and that small plastic or metal piece you removed
Eric Pascual I’m not sure I’m tracking what you mean by small piece of plastic or metal I removed. Mainly because I removed a few things.
Eric Pascual check the update video. Should answer any questions
What’s the link I can’t find it
Should be on the main page.
Bro please could you show me these led lights in the sun please
I’m not sure in what sway you mean, with them lit up or just how they look in the day? Anyhow you can always see more photos on my Instagram @exfiloffroad
It doesn't seem like it's worth it unless you are doing the full fender chop. I just replaced the bulb with LED and not dash light. Glad you like to spend money for nothing.
Literally the only thing I would have to do for a full fender chop is pull the rest of the plastic off. Super easy. Additionally kinda makes your point just some negative comment. Also Just empty every pocket “JEEP”. Have a great one.
