So Awesome that you caught this very unique looking aircraft and the close ups of it shutting down and starting up, what sound, also nice that you caught it landing and taking off. Great Catch my Friend 👍😎
Thanks a lot for watching Ed 👍Yes, very unique aircraft. I was happy to catch it. I must admit I was hoping for a little bit more views as there are only two in the world.
It's always been a common feature of flying boats -- there just aren't that many of those around anymore. But for flying boats, it's a good feature, since it keeps the props and engines well up out of the way of the water spray in water landings and take offs, which is desirable.
What a truly amazing capture congrats! So glad you got this one as I've never seen one of these before, didn't even know it existed. Got to be a new fave turboprop along with the Piaggio Avanti. Bet you were glad to be at work for this one. Take care.
Thank you so much Alan 👍 Yes, I was really happy to catch it. Like you, I've never heard of this bird before. Another turboprop I would love to see is the Beech Starship. Only a few are still flying in the US. Take care Alan.
@@foxxray54 Sorry to write that but Dornier isnt really in existence anymore. The Seastar and the S-ray are the last Aircraft by the Design basics of Claude Dornier. Only 3 Prototypes of the Seastar and 2 of the S-ray. have been Build. Its a very very rare catch. There are more Mustangs Spitfires and Bf 109s out there currently flying. But Dornier Seawings GmbH still can push the Seastar into production if there is an signíficant of Intrest of one ore more customers.
What a great catch of this new aircraft. Thanks for sharing ! Maybe it will land on the Rhine River in Cologne some day like the ATT24 did many years ago.
That's a Dornier specialty. They built float planes with that configuration since the 1920s. The gigantic Do-X had 12 engines arranged in 6 push-pull nacelles (it was the biggest plane in the world at that time). The Do 18 had the same configuration as the one in the video but with diesel engines. The Do 26 had 4 engines in 2 push-pull nacelles. The Do 335, which was not a float plane, had a push-pull configuration which allowed it to become the fastest piston engine of WWII.
At first glance it looks ugly cumbersome, ancient design, ungainly even! The only thing going for it is the toilet , at least one can express ones distatse for flying in by visiting the loo !
Absolutely stunning catch! The Dornier CD2 is super rare. 😍 Amphibious aircraft are always cool to see. Great video 👍
Yes, a great surprise 😎 Only two were built. Thanks for watching my friend 👍
@@foxxray54 Just watched it again :)
Thank you very much 😎👍

Now that is one funky aircraft, such a strange push-pull configuration and overall unique design. I love it! What a great catch.

@@foxxray54 Oh wow, that's crazy rare. Such a lucky spot!
Wow! I've never seen this plane before! It sure looks unique. There aren't too many aircraft in the world with an engine on top of the fuselage
Same here, never heard of it before. It was a cool surprise.
Thanks a lot for watching mate 👍

Thanks a lot dude. Only two of them have been produced. Never heard of this plane before. Would love to see it on the water 😎
@@foxxray54 Only two, no way! Does the other one fly? It would be awesome to see it landing on water!
@@LIONAV Yep, only two. I don't know if the second one fly.
It was coming from Palma where I think it landed on water. Must be very cool to watch !
@@foxxray54 Absolutely, such a cool catch, well done mate!
Spectacular....!
Thanks for watching Pierre 👍
Such a unique and beautiful airplane. I would like to see Dornier, perhaps, build a larger amphibian in the 15-19 seat range off of this design.
It was a very cool catch indeed. Dornier produced lots of nice airplanes in the past. Don't know on what they working today.
Thanks for watching.

All i can think about when I see this is what would happen if one of the probs broke up. Would go straight into the cockpit or cabin.

Thanks for watching mate 👍 It was a very nice surprise. I hope for you. The Do24 ATT is a wonderful aircraft.
I think that this is an attractive design. Please tell me what the range is of this aircraft? Thank you. 🛩
Thanks for watching Jerry.
About 1000 nm according to Google.
How well I know this flying boat!
Thanks for watching.
That’s a very rare and strange aircraft because look it’s got a spinning blade on its roof facing forwards and the other ones facing backwards

Très intéressant mais très étrange cet appareil. Avec un centre de gravité qui semble haut le pilotage doit être délicat ?
Merci pour le commentaire. Il a l'air sensible au vent, après pour le reste, les pilotes ne m'ont rien dit 😉
Really cool machines with very impressive capabilities, but you can get a turbine Mallard that will do the same things for less than half the price.
Thanks for watching and for the feedback.
It was cool seeing this rare aircraft.
Quite a weird looking machine.
Looks like a drone mounted plane chassis.
weird indeed...
