I was upset on your behalf that you kept getting all these piers that didn't add much to your island's productivity. I'm glad you were able to stay positive and explain at the end how you would've played differently to avoid the problems you had with space and money late in the video.
Man that Pier pressure is real in this game

Thank you Retromation, your indie game recommendations are always welcome!
There’s already a hot fix to adjust card font size 😂
blessed
one thing i thought, with the island pieces that look like =, with the bit of land that's not attached to the main island, you could build out with that a little so you can put all your piers on there. have a dedicated pier island, leaving a little more space on the main island.
The bots do be loving this game...
I noticed (because I did it for science) that you can place a Tavern while you have a castle part in hand and you just lose it, permanently. Putting you in an unwinnable state. While this should be noticable with the castle parts having gold borders, i bet on my life there will be people who won't notice and just keep playing (which i also did for a while to see how big i could go until I got bored around 400 pop).
I sure hope the devs see the comment i left on the hotfix announcement with a suggestion to either make the castle parts un-discardable, or shuffle them back in your deck on discard. Heck even a Game Over screen if you discard a castle part would be something.
Edit to add: I had commented on the hotfix news on Tiny Kingdom's steam page about what happened and the dev has responded and should be implementing a re-shuffle mechanic for important cards if they get discarded in the next update!
Happened to Wanderbots 😅
This looks like a cute little game.
Hey Retro! Love your content, have you ever rated all the games you played? Or something like that?
bots arent faster then me, love ur vids reto.
I wonder how you better optimise your game. You cant throw away cards you dont want (piers, islands, lumberyards) and you can only have so many cards in hand. I suppose one other optimisarion thing is to leave gaps for bakeries in your town
Another optimization is when you draw tiles that add to your deck (like how placing a lumberyard tile will add houses to your deck or how placing a pier tile will add islands) you can hold off on placing them for a bit and just draw again. That way, you don't fill your deck with so much junk, raising the chance of drawing that rare quarry or mill tile.
@@RexelBartolome yeah to be a bit back-seaty it really felt like Retro hurt his run by placing piers and such immediately while drawing for the quarries and mills.
just clicked and there's prn bots already. damn... but the game is so cozy, might look into it too ✨
I wonder in which order placing the houses gives the most benefit 🤔
the bots are faster...💀
But the real fans are forever!
Damn it feels like fonts for ants. Can barely see the font on my phone. 😅
Is there a game that changes stages, levels, and story mode? Meaning, if you die and come back again, the story phase changes
Interesting game , hopefully salty runback at some juncture.
I dont think the pier is RNG, I saw some others played this and they also get piers as much as you did if not more, pier is always what kill the runs
I find it a bit irritating that it doesn't show the tiles connecting before placing
Game is too RNG dependent. If you get very few lumber trees and lumberyards, you can get only a single pier that gives you no new islands and you instantly lose.
