      @@Tripleflipbas an old astroneer player.
Using the flatten tool does make a flat surface.
But what we are talking about is “true flat” essentially you can create a perfectly vertical wall. Which is near impossible everywhere else.
And then using that vertical wall you can compare your floor to see if it is also true flat.
It is possible to recognize it by using the flatten tool and slowly building towards the surface that you want to be true flat.
You will notice the ground snap together differently than most places.
I do believe when they added creative mode they added something to create a block of ground that could be used to make a platform. But it still wasn’t true flat.

It is hilarious and frustrating as an Astroneer player to see the various ways Floyd made automation at least three times harder
Why make expanded platforms when you can use auto arms to move resources between separate platforms?
Why use canisters when you can use storage silos?
Then, when Floyd does start using expanded platforms and canisters for automation, he forgets that Hydrazine is a liquid
Firstly, I'm surprised that Floyd never took advantage of the large slots on his large shuttle to increase the number of medium slots, something players typically do before powering all the gateway chambers
Secondly, I'm amazed by Floyd's unique path of progression which entails completing the Vesania MAT before the Desolo MAT, the Desolo that's the first location you visit other than Sylva, and the MAT that uses far simpler materials, before completely ignoring the Desolo MAT during his automation uprising

Technically, Aluminum and Aluminium are both correct spellings of the same thing. Aluminum was what it was called first, and someone in Europe decided one day that it should be Aluminium to fit in with other elements (like Gallium, for example)... except there's a bunch of stuff that doesn't end in -ium like Iron, gold, and mercury. So... it's whatever

    • @dieSpinnt

@@ChargeQM Sir Humphry Davy, who had tried for a long time to represent the new element, introduced the name variants alumium, aluminum and aluminium from 1807 onwards, the last two of which continue to exist side by side in English [1].
The basis for the terminology follows Lavoisier's 1782 assumption that the alum earth (alumina, derived from Latin alumen 'alum'), extracted by Marggraf in 1754 from an alum solution, was the suspected oxide of a previously unknown element (aluminum oxide).[2]
Why is there a need to lie? To pull nonsense out of your backside, when there is clearly historically proven fact that you can even look up on Wikipedia? The fascinating reality of the discovery of this element is so far removed from the nonsense you wrote above that one can only wonder and it would perhaps be just as interesting a question if you answered why you had to INVENT your little "story"?

To any new players who watch this, automation is hugely important to decreasing the grind. While you cant automate the fetching questing this game puts you through you can automate the creation of items which saves a huge amount of time. For example you can automate the building of platforms, auto arms, storage item, ECT. Using the storage sensors makes these setups very easy to build and decreases the amount of time you spending waiting around significantly. Also automating mining as soon as possible also cuts down on the grind.

      Depends when you played.
A lot of stuff got added over the years.
I remember activating all the gateways and planets. Getting the ending cutscene at space altar thing. And then getting all the achievements for the golden skin.
Then I come back a good while later and there is automation, trains, fabric of reality is being broken. There are gastropod pets. And overall so much new stuff to enjoy.

You level out the terrain and flatten it by keeping the left mouse button pressed at the same time as left ctrl if i recall correctly. If you want true flat terrain in line with the planet's voxel grid you have to use the leveling block.

this game is fun. when i play this game it only have some basic quest and some basic tech but nothing more so i explore 2 planet and got bored.
now it got quest so you have someting to aim toward and something interesting like train.
terrain manipulator is great in this game. you can flaten the land with it but you can also make turnel with it too.
if you angle down around 45ํํ you can make a clean tunnel to the underground area.
