You can explore planets, run cargo, basic bounty hunting, a new gamemode called theatres of war is coming soon (fps gameplay).... So I wanted to add a few things that helped me as a new player who just recently joined the verse. I did focus on fps combat, which is currently pretty easy, even for brand new players without a lot of resources. There will def be some crossover with the vid, but I also have a lot to add that could be helpful:
The first thing I did as a new player was the security contractor missions. These award 15k, plus bonuses with a call to arms, and they are a pretty good resource to stock up on weapons and armor. Just watch out for friendly fire as there will be planet security there helping you. These missions can also be a bit finicky, doing a couple of them first with the intention of figuring out the nuances will be helpful. Of course these are combat missions; buy your weapons at lagrangian rest stops. You only need to be semi-competent at fps combat, tbh these missions were immediately easy as soon as I entered the verse.
Next are bounty hunter missions, Morph covered this really well, but there is a bit more I want to add. Obviously you’ll start with very low targets, I only had to do one of these to start seeing the missions I’m about to talk about. You’ll start to see a bounty hunter mission for 25k and in the description it’ll mention a cave system. These missions have pretty decent payout, and you basically just fight through a dope ass cave. These are some of my favorite missions cause the cave setting is really cool. You’ll also find ore in these caves just like the missing persons cave missions. Most people will mine Aphorite and Hadanite, but personally I solely go for Hadanite.
This final method was the most profitable for me. It does have a startup cost, albeit a very low one. You’ll want to rent a Cutlass Black and ROC miner at a refinery. This only costs around 40k and is the only startup cost (use previous methods to get this). With these tools you can mine various ores, but you are gonna target Hadanite (and aphorite if you so choose). I personally like to mine on Daymar, but there may be better locations for this. Once you get ROC mining down, you’ll make minimum 100k per hour.
Finally, I’ve found that I have gravitated toward Crusader for all my exploits in the verse. Here, you can find everything I’ve mentioned above. The only downside is the atmosphere of Crusader can be tough on new players and starter ships. I wouldn’t say this adds a lot of difficulty, and it’s really not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. You’ll prob be fine, even in a starter ship. If you choose Crusader, set your spawn in a Cru station or Grim Hex, this is your new home! Choosing Crusader is just a suggestion, but remember wherever you start doing missions, you should commit to staying there to build up your status with that planet’s organizations!!

Hey ive always said this, people (myself included) really enjoy Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Flight SImulator X, where literally 100% of the game is just cargo / passenger hauling, nothing more. For hundreds of hours, just that alone.
So no wonder people can enjoy the same thing in Star Citizen.
It is what you want. If you want Euro Truck Sim in space, so be it!

I'd like it better if you had to manually load/unload cargo onto your ship instead of having it magically appear in your ship's bay. Would be more time consuming, but also interesting. Better than simply flying from A to B.

Trading alone isn't worth the time with any ship smaller than a freelancer. Smaller ships with cargo the SCU is only really useful for making a bit extra while doing delivery missions, eventually it'll be useful for transporting stuff like loot from your victims or for potential future utility like carrying extra ammo, fuel, supplies to restock your base once base building is in etc

here is an idea for FPS mining....
at the beginning of all caves it starts with a narrow hallway. this is a great place to find half a dozen rocks to mine just right there in plain sight. when the cave enters into the first large room or when you start to take forks then it get harder to navigate so i don't bother continuing. there are more rocks to mine if you keep going but they are more spread out and harder to find. just take the easy, obvious rocks and move on.
if you couple this with a prospector it works great. get low, mine rocks on the approach to the cave. if a 30k takes out your ship cargo you usually keep personal inventory, which is a nice consolidation prize.

This is my all time favourite genre of game. I’ve only got back into gaming a few months ago with lockdown and I only get time on weekends to play.
I’ve found elite dangerous really fits that style of playing and I don’t need to invest tons of time in game to make significant progress. I’ve always been curious about star citizen though and it was actually my first choice. I was big on freelancer and starlancer back in the day. But I feel like I won’t be able to do much with the game with the limited amount of time I have to play it. Mined until my back pack was full, found the body then was unable to mantle/climb out of one of the lower parts of the cave due to a bug. While down there my inventory bugged out and was unable to take my helmet off or access the food\water in my inventory so I starved to death ruining my first 2 days of playing this game and my first mission ending in a complete failure. Now I’m dead broke with nothing because of 2 bugs on my first ever mission.. that being said, if this game was playable and not a buggy mess I would have made a lot of money and had a great experience following this guide. I have my doubts about shipping in the log run. When the large ships come online it is going to drop the prices to the point where those with small to medium ships arent going to make much. I tend to think lone bounty hunting won't be very profitable either better to form up with others and for militias work with mining or shiping guilds as protection. Hunt down members of pirate guilds.

Woops, I totally did those 15+k box missions as they paid a lot and tbh the descriptions didn't seem that bad, like take some food to this outpost.
I'm a bit hesitant about doing much fighting atm as my fps is so low, and I don't know much about ship customisation, like even if your ship gets destroyed do those customisations get carried over to when you claim it (say QT teleports you inside a planet, as happened to me yesterday, it would put me off customising anything knowing a little bug, let alone actually getting killed by pirates would reset everything).

My best way to earn money?
Go to Hurston, do the necessary test bounty missions. Set Everus Harbor as your base.
The bounties are too low money what you want are the occasional 10k ECN alerts and that it from the general tab.
On the personal tab, you'll want to use the mercenary tab and do Authorized Execution Warrants and anything from "Future Ghost"
These will range from 9k up to 20k per mission and only require killing 1-3 targets. with current ship AI it's a breeze
I made 400k in a liitle over an hour. 300-400kish
EDIT: also future ghost does not give you crimestat. perfectly leg-uell

I started with a Mustang Alpha, and I do not have any loaner ships on my vehicle list in any Star Ports. I used to. Back around Thanksgiving time I actually had like 4 or 5 ships on my list. Now I only have the one. This has effectively locked me out of doing box missions, since my Alpha can't hold boxes.

The prospector will not yield 100,000 to 200,000 in an hour. Unless you are lucky IMO. It is not such a consistent high yielding money maker anymore, especially now with volatile cargo. It is still the best money maker though, just not 100 to 200k (consistently). If you know of a way how to do this consistently, I would like to know.

Well one run PO -> Deymar area 141, full load of Agricium and back to PO is 23000 profit, that is with the Cutlass blacks 46 SCU.
As for the prospector, i did save up for close to 3 months, bought the ship, changed the mining laser to helix 1, logged out and next time i logged on there where issues, with invisible character, then F1/F2 key did not work so i did reset, and said prospector was gone, not fun, seems it happened to others to, one guy had lost 2, i don't play 12 hours a day so getting 2m takes me a while.

I first went for combat missions (solo claimjumpers) and grinded about 300k this way. Then I switched to mining which looks like the best time vs risk vs revenue ratio. I also tried cargo hauling and got fucked over and over again by 30ks and other server related issues, cost me about 600k total so I skipped that.
Now I just go for either picking up 8-9 fedex missions from crusader to new babbage (it nets you between 50-70k in about an hour) or the illegal 15k ones from arccorp to crusader. Lost 820k with 3.9 release and farmed back to 1mil in a week this way. Any other mission type will expose you to too many bugs and server related crap and the only thing you will get is frustration and investment loss.

    • @Dj3ndo
      @Dj3ndo 4 роки тому +3

If you watch closely on the first shot, you can see dust fly up from an engine. So my guess is that he uses ships for a lot of the shots. If you fly in decoupled mode, you will have very fluid movement.

    • @sporqist

He is using the advanced camera controls.
They work in 3rd person by holding f4.
You can check out the bindings in options > key bindings > advanced controls customisation > camera - advanced camera cobtrols
At least for fpv he also uses some kind of headtracking or at least an extra stick on a hotas maybe

    • @forcommenting1017
