We all want Ark to be its best and it needs to start with communication.
It needs to start with them finishing Ark Survival Evolved. Then we can talk about ASA. Ffs, I still get Arked on a regular basis in Evolved let alone all of the issues with ASA.
I know that ASE support has ended, but how about next monarky season stay on ASE. At least at that point you have content

Veno; Do you really believe that they will start to communicate with the community? They've been lying forever with their intents. I don't remember who, but a well known ARK gameplay youtuber did some researches back then and found it that the owner of Snails wanted to create electric cars so all of the revenues from ARK was going towards that and when it was on the verge of going bankrupt they announced ARK 2 or what is now A:SA I guess, and everything... They've been lying since day 1 of A:SE, its sad to say, but that's the truth and with EVERY single maps and DLCs delays, it was easy to understand they didn't give a fuck about us players, they just wanted the money and still do.
I'll be perfectly honest, as a console player, I dont share alot of your fears. They do need to be more open, but I'm perfectly fine with the state of ark currently. Sure the Island itself isn't my super favorite, and I'm excited for new maps, but I can be done with the Island but still have more to play. I joined in on ASE later in its life, and the group I was playing with was doing just the later maps, so I have no prior experience with the Island, Scorched Earth, the Center or really any of those, But we are a console group, so being able to play with the mods is a huge plus. I also havent even had many stability issues. The only one I had I could directly attribute to one of my mods, and that was fixed. I have pretty average performance, its certainly not the best but I distinctly remember ASE being on average lower frame rate. ASA has mostly been a positive for me. I noticed one common issue with a couple modded creatures having to due with assignments to the crouch button, but thats it
I quit Ark a few months ago when the Nitrado monopoly was announced. Sad to see Wildcard still treats their fanbase so badly.
People keep coming back for more, and or they don't pay attention. I think most people play solo, so they come and go. I feel bad for people that play multiple player.
I was playing multiplayer, renting 2 servers, bought the game 3 times on PS4(for my son, my GF and I) and chose to quit because it was only a question of time before Nitrado and Snails axe ASE servers. With the inflation here in Canada I can't afford 3 PS5s and 3 ASAs so the best was to cut it all then make sure we didn't get more invested in the game. It's sad but realistically they don't deserve any more of our money.@@fkaroundhandleit
That was due to Snail Games stealing all the money from ARK and not paying its Nitrado bills. The corruption and mismanagement from Snail is what has ultimately killed the game.

I still recall the infamous "coded from scratch, from the ground up" statement. What utter bollocks! ASA has the exact same issues/quirks as ASE.

I have so much love for Ark, and as a communications and project manager, the way Wildcard manages timelines and shares information genuinely breaks my heart

Can’t you just get out of the ark to save it? They had a save button before but they removed it to a system where you have to leave the world for it to save or have an auto save happen.

This game really just needed another 6-12 months worked on with island, scorched, and BR with center coming out first or vice versa. Along with a more stable PVP and PVE experience

I love how we were promised SE along with the Island. By the time we geta 2nd map, it would have been 6 months... Half a year, for one map.

Veno, you're allowed to be angry. Also SIR, you're a content creator who works with other creators & project management is project management. WC/Snail's PM is...not good. I can't imagine contracting out a product and, on launch day, pulling it back bc whoops, it didn't meet specs. And for yourself & other YT'ers whose branding is focused on Ark - it's your jobs & livelihood they're hurting bc it makes it harder for you to promote this game in good faith thru your letsplays & features. WC and Snail aren't playing fair & y'all deserve better.

I stopped playing all ark games and giving them money when they announced the Nitrado monopoly. I will NEVER go back to Ark because of it, removing the ability for us to host our own servers

You are making a whole lot of sense for a common person. The issue I think is that they are doing far less than they should be and being transparent about it would make people angry. The latest "major" patch had far too little fixes in it. I also crashed 5 minutes after starting to play when I opened my inventory so that crash has not been fixed.
The only reason I can see why they announced Scorched for April 1st is to have a built in excuse to delay, for them to simply say "April fools!" and delay it.

Totally agree with everything. I just find it shocking that we had nothing in the build-up to ASA being released till the trailer which was on the day of release and I just find it absolutely baffling that Dollie says in the discord server that the Center won't be out till after SE, like how can that not be in the crunch! That's the piece of information which gives us the most clarity about the delay and they dont include it. Quite literally one of the worst companies I've seen at communication, yet unfortunately we have to put up with it cause we all love ARK too much, it has that special feeling and there is no other game like it.
I agree as players we would love to know what is happening good and bad.

Àll I can do is applaud this. It needed to be said. Thank you for speaking a lot of truth and for some of the community. Lack of communication KILLS games. It's been one of the problems I've had too with a few companies, Studio Wildcard being one of them. I love ARK, I love watching the Creator's who make content on it and the small amount of playtime I have had myself has been fun despite the crashes. However it seriously hurts seeing how much some of my favorite guys struggle not to burn out on a game they love because things aren't getting done to make the game be where it NEEDS to be. Good luck in the future Veno. One day, maybe, ARK may reach the point you and the others can truly have fun like the old days again. Fingers crossed for it to be aoon.

I fully agree that they need more communication. And very detailed, even going into such detail in the crunch like "We had to delay Shastasaurus due to having some trouble making a moveable vacuum compartment on the saddle but we have nearly completed the Gigantoraptor early so we have chosen to release this one with the new map instead" then a little later "sorry about this but progress on the next map is a little slow so we gotta delay this, we'll hold a vote on our discord to decide what to do, 1: release out new dino on the current map or 2: wait until we release this map to release this dino" this kind of transparency even in their own thoughts instead of its current pr copypaste format that feels very detached as well as actively giving the majority of the fanbase some executive control will benefit them greatly.

Its this new policy of "feed em the minimum" or speaking like politicians is one of the many reasons i've been pulling away. WC used to be so great with sharing info, even if it wasn't what we wanted to hear. It feels like Snail has pushed its way into the day to day operations of WC and is holding the devs hostage. The way things are going is NOT Studio Wild Card... not the studio I've come to know...at least up to June of 2023.
I agree on the part about getting a look behind the scenes and what it's like working with UE5. Hi-Rez is doing that with SMITE 2. SMITE was created in UE3 and they decided to re-release it in UE5 and are currently working on it. They are showing a lot of the stuff that's happening behind the scenes in "developer deep dives". They talk about system changes, what it's like working with UE5 and the new possibilities they have for lightning and other graphical effects. as well as the challenges they're facing. For me, the main takeawy from these videos is that it shows how passionate the devs truly are about SMITE 2 and i wish i could get this feeling from WildCard as well
Friends thought I was crazy not buying a new system to support ASA with as much as I played ASE. ASA doesn't sit well with me, I'm in no hurry. EDIT Train tracks?!?! It's a f'ing dinosaur game wth are train tracks for? Ugh..
We have jetpacks (Tek suits) so train tracks are not to far fetched but yeah i dont blame with sticking with ase for now, i would say wait until there is more in ASA then buy it if you want too

There is a roleplay community that they are trying to cater to so it makes sense. Also it gives modders another mechanic to mess with and bring new content as well. It may not appeal to everyone but at the end of the day it could benefit you later on in some way.
The issue is that people have no patients and are very entitled these days.
Also, its not just a dinosaur game...there is tons of sci fi and fantasy in there too. Ark is played differently by many people. Like me for example...I play it more like a survival sim and I don't ever try to beat the game.

Thank you Veno for sharing your thoughts to not just us, but Wildcard. I truly hope they understand that we give criticism not to bash Ark but to try to improve the game we LOVE. I can definitely understand the burnout from doing let's plays in Ark and even encourage taking a break and try other games. My friends and I have had a blast playing Helldivers 2 as it can have some of the most cinematic and hilarious moments I've seen in a long time. And again, thank you for everything you do.
Great vid man, you put into words what a lot of us are feeling. I hate to say it, but between the delays (again) and the whole nitrado crap, I honestly feel we are seeing the unfortunate slow death of Ark. And that hurts.

100% agree as someone who loves ark and want it to succeed I fully believe wildcard should start asking ark creators what they believe is best and what they should mention in the crunch maybe have a meeting of sorts with a few creators a month asking what they should talk about and your video I think backs that theory since you have amazing ideas for the next months crunch that would definitely hype up the game and give people something to look forward to seeing.

I love ASA because it's literally the only third person/first person dinosaur game. That alone drew me into the game. I'm more of sim racer and since ASA kinda fell out that's what I'm doing. I'm racing and it's getting stressful because I really wanna play Ark but I can't bring myself to it. If wild card wants to succeed they need to find a loophole to get out of the bullshit with Nitrado. They can easily make that money back through gportal and the other server websites. If paid content is how they do it so be it. But something has got to give

One of the things I was super excited about when getting a new pc was the ability to play ASA, but when I heard the centre map was delayed as well as the other issues i just decided not to bother, I'll keep playing ASE untill it catches up.

All id want is more info like you said ive played official ark since day 1 ive had a lot of people in my tribe quit (from 20 to 4) due to them not communicating effectively they got sick of delay after last second delay and i cant blame them i just wish theyd show us thier hand so we could be more understanding
I 100% agree with the points you made here Veno. I myself would genuinely be going back to ASE if it weren't for the fact my installation is so messed up I can't play multiplayer, and my singleplayer saves keep corrupting themselves. And yes before anyone starts replying I have tried everything I can to get it working again but nothing has fixed it. ASA has the potential to be amazing, it really does. But to achieve that the devs need to a, be open with the community, and b, listen to the genuine feedback people are giving them. I for one want to see the game reach the point of being the remaster it should be, and will be holding out for Scorched launch. If that doesn't happen on time though, as sad as it is to say, I may not come back to ASA. I hope it doesn't get to that point but for right now there's not enough to keep me engaged. I was really looking forward to another map so I hope that Scorched isn't delayed further as well. Please wildcard, listen to the community and be more transparent with us. It really would help you so much in the long term.

Also in regards to the Gigantoraptor spotlight, I bet you it didn't come last week because they will release it on Wednesday when the Gigantoraptor releases. They have this bad habit of dropping these trailers at the same time as everyone is logging on to play with the new content instead of dropping it a week early. Doesn't make sense in my mind.
We need Microsoft to step in and buy Ark and Wildcard. Maybe then we can get the game back on track and give us the old Ark we used to love (and hate 😂)

Ark is very special to me, and I was hyped for the release of ASA. But with their terrible communication and release planning (Xbox delay) it totally crushed my excitement. Won’t be coming back as a costumer unfortunately, I really WANT to look forward to Arks future. But I can’t unless I see a drastic improvement
I'd be more than happy to go back and play ASE if I were on PC. But as a console player that has had a taste of mods it's hard to go without now. But those things aside, thank you for standing up for the community, it's massively appreciated. Cheers mate 🍻
I like how you’ve worded this. To the real Ark supporters who play it for the love of the game we’ll play it and love it but everyone expects everything to have delays because that’s how ark has (unfortunately) always been. I hate seeing people shit posting saying the game sucks and that it’s dead when ok the game has issues but that doesn’t make it a bad game. If it was a bad game no one would care and it wouldn’t have carried on for as long as it had it would have vanished years ago.
We always do enjoy in spite of the issues you guys have sometimes with the game! We like you not just the game your playing. Head up Veno!!!!! 🧡🧡🧡🧡

Veno I truly hope WC listens to your feedback. Your genuine words to ask for communication is exactly what the community needs and what WC needs to save its player base. There is so much negativity out there atm and it is absolutely heart breaking to see this add to the whirl pool of disappointment for that is not helping with the state of the game. I love ark and only want to see it be successful. Your community crunch suggestions are bloody brilliant, I really hope they take it on board ! Thank you for speaking out for community 🙏

As someone who played from day one, whose experienced every delay and every bug/glitch and problem I can honestly say that the largest issue is how much these delays have stacked up to this point. Sure ASE always had delays. Pushbacks are common in the gaming industry and we all understand its for quality purposes. But the volume to which wildcard has delayed time after time in such a short span has been crippling for the player base.
And the reasonings and apologies feel just so flat. Like it's just another day in the office when pushing out a delay apology crunch.
Honestly I love this game. I really do. But like veno touched on here, the crunches to follow need to be spotless. They need to invest us in the future.
We want to feel hyped for this and it has truly been hard to do so.
And when tubers like veno syntac and raas are all frustrated and disappointed to this state you know that the line is very near to being broken.
We need some immediate changes here. And I hope that we see some consideration on Fridays crunch.
Don't be surprised about the delay. GSG has delayed Genesis 1 over a year now for the switch.
The oasisaur revival doesn’t bother me as much because a good ARK player already has breeding pairs to replace their fav Dino’s, which is kind of the same. No dino is really unique

Hate to say it but I gave up on ark and wildcard a few weeks ago. This delay is no surprise but now scorched is getting the most pay to win creature in ark not to mention if ppl want to play along with their fav creators that are playing modded will eventually have to start paying for those premium mods so feels like ark is going full blown with the micro transactions and might as well be a free to play game
They are on the verge of being bankrupt. They have no money, they gain no money they are only losing money and the stock plummeted. Cant wait for a big developer like epic picking that game up

I realized this game was dead when they came up with the first Ark2 announcement.

It’s also frustrating that the Nintendo switch version is still missing a bunch of dlc too and some of the maps in general (on all platforms) are a tad buggy in a few areas. Like I was flying the island the other day and went to land on what is supposed to be a solid rock and my flyer and I fell through. - I get that they have a lot to do and not enough time or people - fine but tell us that. Stop promising us stuff and not delivering. Instead of “you’ll get this time at this date and time “ - no. Just say “we are working on this! Updates to follow as we go”. I also agree to listen to the criticism and everything you said veno. It’s frustrating.

Honestly at this point looking back I don’t think we got information or at least too much info about games early on I think we as gamers have gotten way too hard to work with I understand prices sort of changed since then but even a small game Forspoken as example could have been hit on their 2nd game but reviews on the first ruined the opportunity ark a year from now could be a really good game given the support but too many people complaining about issues we already knew was gonna be there I remember most wanted a fresh start with ark and now it’s here everyone’s bored ark community myself included need to give wildcard a break and support them more like they have us the past years with free dlc
Bet they subbed it out to grapeshot (same people) so they could make the pay adventure packs in house, this could explain while atlas not had update in awhile
I feel you veno, unfortunately wildcard is half transparent and thats worse than them not saying anything at all. They hype up something, then they go quiet, then they say its pushed back last minute
Veno, you are a gentleman by being so kind with how you went through this. I like a lot of people Have moved back to ASE and having fun creating my own adventure with various mods on a game that ACTUALLY WORKS AND DOESNT CRASH SONSISTENTLY. Watching content creators have to constantly use save game to stop lost progress on a revamped game......ridiculous. Lighting issues, shadows issues, water issues, and then just listening to the lie to us every month has us at our end. I LOVE THIS GAME and being forced into hating it because of shoddy management and poor financial choices. We all know when game itself was pushed out last minute without announcement just to squeeek by the release date requirements of their Snail/Nitrado deal. Snail is the devil and doesnt care at all about this franchise, only the money they can siphon off from it. getting into bed with these snakes as the start of the end.

I honestly think we're getting a March 29th SE delau crunch. And the fact is they probably know this is the case right now, but will wait to say something until the last second. I have really lost my faith in the game.
I honestly haven't touched the new ASA because of all the problems that I've been seeing and hearing about, I'm still playing ASE were I can still play on my favorite map Aberration and I use my PS5 to play it smoothly, and I'm not to thrilled about all the different things that I'm seeing as potential ideas, like Mario or Micky Mouse, those are things I believe don't fit into ARK whatever, and take away from the charm of it, also I would apsulotly LOVE to see mods for console because I don't have a computer to add mods and I find it insulting that they won't even try
Well Wild card said this " we aren't experienced enough to be making games" or something that's between this context and that's the reason why I didn't buy ASA and nor do I believe in ARK 2 anymore they keep giving promises and release dates but they never do it! Don't say the project will be done in a week when it needs 7 months or so
Digital Extremes and their way of handling warframe hype is a good example of letting players know what's up. and yes they have had to delay things, every company has but at least they communicate what is going on with their game.
As someone who played Ark SE in alpha, played every expansion, played multiple mod maps, and still made the decision not to buy Ascended out of a vain hope of hurting Snail: It hurt to hear how hurt you sound in this video. I really wish they'd done better by all of you man.
I mean for all of us still playing the game the new update just killed the modding community one big one was decended they had to sadly announce there mod is no longer able to work
its a bit dumb that we still dont know how the adventure packs will work, i hope its like premium mods, that cant be used in offical vanilla servers
Any one else have an update for Ark but now it's not loading at all.
1. They're intentionally throwing Grove Street Games and Instict under the bus to misdirect from the issues actually stemming from Snail instead. Woe be unto Snail if they actually respond contradicting their statements. Snail-WC has an 8+ year history of these sorts of things, kiting etc.
2. As a whole, the Wildcard team has a culture of resentment/derision towards the player base. Remember many years ago when a dev got in the news for bad comments about players and had to make an apology? Over the course of 8 years they continued to pull back from interactions and communication. They used to go for months without posting patch notes on steam and then after being called out, stopped posting them there and just made a sticky with the link to the general patch notes page on the official website. Cedric finally admitted(but I knew from another team member many years ago) that they intentionally have pulled back with communication back in December on twitter. Point is, its going to get worse not better. Saying as well "dont blame" the community managers is also just enabling the same pattern these 8 years. The stark reactions by the community wouldnt be so bad were they interacting with the community more. Its been an all or nothing absolute in their minds.
3. Hyping Scorched Earth and the frontier pack at this point is, well, pointless. Not just because they've burned the community by this point but also because the maths arent on their side regarding revenue hopes at this point. Their debts/loans and expenditures have been far out pacing sales of Ascended and even if they charged 50 bucks for the pack, there's just not enough remaining player numbers that will make it significant enough to make a dent.
4. Saying you want them to hire more for an enforcement team isnt going to happen. They're in financial dire straights. That financial jeopardy they're in is also why the situation has been as it has been with everything around Ascended.
5. You're in the denial stage of grief really. You've seen how they are. You know they're consistently this way, but yet you're expecting them to change. Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
And regarding results, you're seeing the outcome of their having painted themselves into a self inflicted financial accountability issues corner so to speak. Waving the torch of "be positive" isnt grounding things in the reality of what the company and the game are now.
All you're doing is enabling instead of holding them accountable. There's no right way to justify the wrong things that we've seen for so long that have transpired. And right now the primary way of holding them accountable is 1. not patronizing their products as a consumer. 2. Telling 10 friends to tell 10 friends to not patronize them as a consumer. But you or others may counter, "but then that means they're going to fail and the game shuts down if no one helps them earn more revenue." That life pod from the scuttled spaceship crossed the event horizon of their black hole long long ago. They even got in trouble recently with their having attempted to misrepresent debts on their SEC filings and the SEC warned them against it(see Snail's SEC filings page). 4th quarter filing should be in the coming weeks as well and that's going to be even more telling.
Over all, prepare for worse as this whole fiasco hasn't bottomed out yet.
Isn’t it funny that to this day, no dev has even whispered something about the crashing problems? Please just communicate with your Fanbase and we would be much happier, even about “ no good” news 😮💨
Honestly tho wildcard has never hit a date in the past. ASA was suppose to be this new shining light in ark that would would fix all the issues of the past and they have failed repeatedly to deliver that. we are met with negative news after negative news everytime.
I feel like the biggest issue when it comes to communication is NDAs on the Snail side of things paired with, and this is something I don't believe people bring up enough, the pure unreasonable toxicity of the larger community. I'm not talking about those of us who have our grievances and want to make them known, no. I'm referring to people who go completely ballistic and complain no matter what, even when Wildcard is actually doing something.
There's no place where this is more obvious than in their own Discord server, where death threats drop faster than fruit flies, where putting just about any slur you can think of in message search will probably net you a couple hundred results, and where even actually good news or the patch-notes for massive bug fix updates will get splattered with clown and shit emojis.
The devs genuinely can't say or do anything without these sort of people using it as fuel for the fire. Hell, back when the crunches had teaser and concept stuff for ASA and Ark 2 you'd see these people reacting too a crunch focusing on Ark 2 with "This is shit, where ASA" only to then go "This is shit, where's Ark 2" when the next week's crunch would be something related too ASA. And of course, that's not even mentioning the hailstorm of death threats that were sent Dollie's way back during the ASA consoke delays.
It's a very "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" kind of situation, really, so I can see why Wildcard would go with option 2 if... well, why put the effort in to communicate when simply just saying you're working on fixing one bug results in a bunch of schizoids threatening you, your co-workers, and your family because you didn't fix it a week ago or CLEARLY aren't working on THIS OTHER BUG because you CLEARLY just said you were ONLY looking into just THAT SPECIFIC ONE!!1!
Wildcard definitely needs to improve their communications with the community, that's a fact, but I feel like a crucial part required to get to that point is too go on a bit of a purge throughout the forums, the Discord and what not to prune out the overly toxic people (Something every smaller ARK community already does, arbitrary shout-out to UpFromTheDepths for having probably the best one I've been in with the Depthscord).
Otherwise, they'll just keep getting dog piled for arbitrary shit, leading to those of us able to actually have a rational adult conversation and address issues in a reasonable manner being deafened out by the hollering screams of a bunch of maniacs who have the terminally online twitter user mentality.
Agreed. Communication needs to be better for sure, but as someone that just casually played Ark and watched a couple of content creators I was SHOCKED at how toxic the community was. The lead up to ASA was absolutely disgusting, and it continues now. Of course they're being given even more things to complain about, but the way that they're doing it is entirely unacceptable.
Veno, you probably won't see this but on the topic of the crunches if you want to see a company that's doing it right they should look at how Bungie do their weekly destiny updates (TWID/TWAB), so fleshed out details of patches and updates voting on event cosmetics, highlighting new stuff as new content drops and new things that can be earned and Unlocked it's so mush better and the crunch is shocking in comparison.
Oh i love what bungie is doing with their updates, i stopped playing destiny ages ago due to not having enough time but i may pick it back up. Always have love for bungie due to halo 3 being one of my top 5 games of all time

My problem besides the delay is you need a nasa pc to run it I crash from making a table the game feels like it's supposed to be alot better than ase but it doesn't seem that much better like sure 200 gigabytes smaller but it still doesn't amount with the "patches" they fixed but some of them didn't need to be fixed. I have had asa since it was out and I couldn't play it on my old pc it would crash trying to load the character customization and the graphics are only a little better In my opinion especially since I had to turn all my settings to low to help not crashing and I have a decent pc
8:40 they were pumping out so many spotlight videos for most of the new dinos back in the day super hyping up the new update. Now we get a sorry excuse and a dinosaur we were suppose to get on rag that we voted for to be on that map now we got a egg steal on island? Will it stay on the island forever or will it go back to rag or center? We got no awnsers. Call us the megalosaurus cause we are left in the dark.
They should give us more Intel to the Community when things happen

Sad thing is they don't say anything about a partner working on a map until they need someone to blame, what a nasty, unorganized company, they deserve to be in shambles.
