Apparently a swinging tyre tied to a rope is how sports camera operators learn how rack focus for sports coverage. The more you know
Thank you! I needed this for film school. My cinematography instructor was not pleased yesterday when I had trouble pulling focus on a moving subject in the dark, yesterday in class.
I shoot a lot of analog film on manual cams with (obviously) no auto focus.. the best, most useful and cheapest gear I ever bought is a 30 dollar laser measure box. mounted it on the side of my rig and use it religiously. its fast and accurate and now I use it almost exclusively on all my cams, both digital and analogue.
You gotta avoid that rolling shutter, man
Why is this so underrated? This is done extremely well!
The distances marked on stills lenses like that are rarely anywhere close to the real distances.
is the rolling shutter so worse on the bmpcc cameras?
touch-AF or its not worth
I watch a LOT of vids but I don't recall ever seeing anything this useful. Good work, mate.
The measurements is to add up with the measurements marks on the lens ? 🤔
Awesome video. What f stop are you using to shoot this?

Very entertaining 😂 it's crazy how sooo off you can be with distance 😅 will 100% be trying this out!
