Loved it. Would be neat to add the X-Wing there doing the trench run...just like in the thumbnail. Otherwise, great job. learned a lot. will definitely try this out
Wait, this was a long video? From my perspective, 20-35 min is comfortable, to max 45 mins is my limit, but Idk where I stand on the spectrum of people that have attention spans shorter than a goldfish.* That's why when you post the animation streams of multiple hours I gulp. If possible, if you between work, life and sleeping, can edit those down to highlights of important or entertaining things in 20-45 min chunks I'd be able to watch more of them. If my 1 hour timer to do my 3 mins of exercise for every hour I sit at my desk is a guide, I find when I'm working 1hr segments FLY by when I'm doing this stuff. I forgot how many subs you need before you get your own human Ytube handler, but there are tons of analytics they make available to those that hit that threshold. Maybe there are guys (I have seen 3 Houdini ladies, but NOT one lady Blenderer...except as one of a group of people on one channel "Levonotion Studios") on similar channels that have those handlers that would share those analytics with you as a fellow content provider (though I'd have multiple sources in case you get told false info on purpose... this is a business even if people don't usually make lots of money doing this). It's part of the reason I know that male content providers make 3-6x LESS per 1,000 views from ytube, than the Sheilas, but that's ok (?) I'd actually be curious if BlenderGuru would respond to you. IIRC, he owns Poliigon, so you are no threat to him... you'd think given the clothes he wears for his videos and his haircuts, he was still poor af. With regards to using SW IP, when I asked MastaXeon for help, I was having trouble with the Armorer Helmet from The Mandalorian, he made a Mando helmet in about 20 secs, but said it was "too hot for youtube," so he just shared the blend file. Idk if his concerns are warranted or not, but it's something to consider. Coming from subdiv, this whole bool paradigm at the time was even more shrouded in mystery than it is today. I'm making progress, but slower than I expected. I did make the Armorer Helmet though...after like a mouse, I saw some one else do it, my unconscious allowed me to do it or something. Bizarre af, imo. _____________________________________________ *time.com/3858309/attention-spans-goldfish/
This was a fun one. I wound up not using this kit for the flying saucer I made-I was having too much fun doodling with the modelling tools while making it, and went with an early 1960s design style-but I did load the kit in at first and look forward to making something with it.
Wow - fantastic. Really appreciate you sharing this. Just wondering though - most of the greeble detail seems wasted - would slowing down the camera's velocity, backing off a bit of motion blur and adding a bit more light help? A lot of work seems 'wasted' on this really impressive project. BTW - I have a pretty good X Wing I just completed in Blender that might look pretty cool flying through this. I will post if I can get er' done.
This was pretty good. I was hoping to see how you add the X-Wing and have it look like its flying in the scene. Man, I don't even recognize Blender now... its so different... having doubts if I should even bother to try to catch up. #StuckIn2.79
Not at all a nitpick or hating on ya (i actually think breaking the rule is a cool stylistic effect) but materiels are either metal or not, in the real world there isn't a 0.18 metal (but it's a cool sci-fi effect) Fun tutorials though
What do you think about this long form video? Would you like to see more?

I was thinking about this after I published it. I will revisit this and one in next week

Raven North it is like riding a bike. The wheels might be thinner and sleeker, but it’s still a bike
Part 2 - The cockpit Part 3 - Laser Fire incoming and outgoing then Part 4 - explosions and smoke
yeah, I really want to create a nice cockpit. There are so many things I could do with that.
@@Markom3D I'll watch it
There's a video on UA-cam called 'The wrong Death Star Trench??' that explains a common misconception about the trench. Check it out :)
Do you set the orientation of the wall tiles ? Mine stay parallel so further along the trench they appear rotated...
Hi Markom 3D, I have one question, how to hide the plane so that later the shadow from the object remains
sorry, for taking so long to respond.
"About 1300"
Why not 2 * Pi * 5000 / 360 * 15 = about 1309?
.... you know what.. I didnt even think about that. lol pretty good guess then

yeah, now I look back at it, I should of gone down that route.
Brave guy..didn't even save the file for once
lol, I like to live dangerously... (screaming on the inside)

Markom 3D
in the particle settings > Render > Untick Show emitter. Is that what you are after?
