New Rings on Piston, 25 HP Kawasaki FH721V

  • This motor is from a Gravely 260-Z. Because I only honed the cylinders, rather than boring them, I was able to go back with the original size rings and reuse the pistons. Kawasaki no longer offers the necessary crank shaft bearing. I had an alternative bearing with the correct ID and OD cut to the proper width. I don't remember what that bearing was, but a Google search will allow you to find that info. The motor has been running great. Save yourself hundreds of dollars and do the rebuild.

    Hello nice tutorial I think removing/installing piston rings is a little frustrating because you don’t want to bind , bend, break them. So being careful. I don’t like when a manufacturer decides to discontinue Parts as in case the bearings.

    By bevel side up do you mean you should be able to see the bevel looking at the top of the piston
