And since 2021 with the surging out of control inflation levels, most people's wages haven't kept up anywhere near inflation levels. In April 2022 RPI inflation rate in the UK was 8%, in April 2023 RPI rate was 13%, and April 2024 5%. I got a 3% pay increase in 2022, a 5% increase in 2023, and another 5% increase in 2024. And energy price increases since 2021 have been way above those RPI rates. Plus from 1997 up until 2010 under the last Labour government average wages again in real terms adjusted for inflation went up by 25.7% for the whole period. Those are facts not just my opion. And the last Labour government increased funding for the NHS to to it's highest levels adjusted for inflation in well over 40 yrs or more. And the result was waiting times falling a lot right up until 2010. Well the tories have done the exact opposite to Labour since 2010. And NHS waiting times since 2010 have been going up a lot, more recently going thru the roof. Our roads literally falling apart everywhere, schools and hospitals falling apart, 600 police stations shut down since 2010, 20000 less police officers, crime rates going up since 2010, poverty, inequality and homelessness rising at an alarming rate since 2010. Our economy going nowhere since 2010 and now in a recession, local councils going bankrupt or on the verge, Health and safety executive unable to do their job properly more accidents on farms etc. No resources to process asylum claims, hence some asylum seekers being put in hotels at our expense waiting to be processed. Unable to deport failed asylum seekers because doris johnson didn't renew the Dublin Agreement with the EU, which allowed us to deport failed asylum seekers. Immigration going up since 2010 and now higher than ever before. Billions of pounds in lost GDP, lost growth thanks to leaving the EU. The national debt a lot higher now than it was in 2010. These are just some of the legacy of our previous tory government since 2010

Do I think it is good/right desicion, or that Edwards looked at those photos and couldn't tell the photos were of minors? No. However, I think Ava's reaction is worth examining in regards to the politics of the justice system, prisons and rehabilation. If Labour had intervened for a harsh sentence, would it be considered government overreach or justified. Should politicians be trusted to intervene when they can be influenced by donors, media, and public opinion.
Politicians should not intervene in judicial proceedings. Now matter how serious the alleged crime. The judiciary must remain independent from politics and from the police for more than just Government overreach. Not only because politicians don't actually know the law in most cases, or have access to any evidence or facts. But because maintaining this separation aids in keeping trust in the process (though trust has been dwindling, partly due to perceived favouritism), protection of the law and of human rights. All of which would be completely undermined if politics got involved.
I seem to remember nobody really engaging in EU politics unless they were against the EU, hence why we ended up with Farage and so many other UKIP MEPs.
They squandered the opportunity they were given by the British people to get the best deal for us, and in the end we paid the ultimate price. But my point is that as a nation, we allowed those bad-faith actors to sabotage the EU project from within. Not because we agreed with their position, but because we simply didn’t engage in EU politics enough.

Until you’ve had a vindictive ex stop you from seeing your child for many months you can’t imagine how painful that is. If it was a woman’s group that was fighting for an equality issue she’d have a completely different attitude. She can be very hypocritical
I cant see Scotland voting for independence while the UK is out of the EU. The headache of the border between Scotland, England, and Northern Ireland would swing too many undecided voters towards no. Even if the UK somehow rejoined the EU, it would take a long time before people would be willing to risk another seperation. In my opinion, some sort of devo max or federal system is the best Scotland can hope for, certainly in my lifetime.

"Thinking about the balance of power between the Westminster Parliament and Scottish Parliament, which parliament should have power to call a referendum on Scottish independence?"
58% said Holyrood
42% said Westminster
When do you believe Scotland will become independent?
6% said within the next two years
13% said within two-five years
21% said within five-10 years
16% said within 10-20 years
14% said more than 20 years
31% said never
therefore 56% of Scots think the country will be independent by 2044, and 70% believe it will leave the UK eventually.
When should Scotland have a second referendum?
18% said within the next two years
20% said within two-five years
17% said within five-10 years
10% said within 10-20 years
9% said more than 20 years
25% said never
therefore 55% of Scots want to see a second referendum within 10 years, and 65% within 20 years
YouGov found support for independence was generally similar to 2014 (45% to 55%).
However, they also found that if independence meant rejoining the EU then 56% of people would vote Yes, while 32% would vote No.
Opinium found support for Scottish Independence at 45% to 47% for no.
They also found a similar result to Survation where most people support Holyrood having the right to hold a refendum as opposed to Westminster.
The public services in Scotland are still considerably better than in England.
Well the schools aren't...... And the roads north of the central belt definitely aren't....drive much?

@JasononsaJ the UK listens to the UK, aka regulations.
So where are your benefits, you have listed only impossible possibilities.
The world is a small place. China, the US, the EU, those are the markets, then you get India, and they love a good deal with the UK.
Perhaps you should start understanding that the times of gunpowder diplomacy are over and countries look out for their own, and the UK is not a big country nor a great power anymore.
The UK created EU legislation and you have not avoided barely any, otherwise your economy would really tank on exports

@@fredatlas4396 brexit has delivered more wage growth than inflation. The remain campaign was funder by foreign investment banks.
@@suburbanyobbo9412 That's is ridiculous, average wages here in the UK from 2010 up until 2019 went down by minus 2.5% for the whole period . These are just some of the legacy of our previous tory government since 2010
@@fredatlas4396 No. Brexit has driven real wage growth. Real wages have declined overall due to high oil and gas prices that have affected the UK worse than most countries because the UK has a high domestic gas consumption per capita.
@@suburbanyobbo9412 No it hasn't, I've given you the facts average wages were already going down since about 2009. Down overall by minus 2.5% by 2019 and since 2019 they've gone down a lot more. What don't you understand, if inflation at 8% and people's wages up by only 3% that's a 5% wage cut in real terms, if inflation is at 13% and people's wages increase by just 5%, that's an 8% wage cut in real terms. And you've forgotten all the damage brexit has done to our economic growth, it's lost us billions in economic growth and still causing a lot of problems for UK businesses

I think the suspended sentence is due to the prison crisis, and the fact in the WhatsApp corrospondence he does ask for "nothing illegal".
@@DubStudioCreateVinyl It is almost like leaving the EU was beneficial to many people in the UK, so they engaged in politics to bring about change.
@@DubStudioCreateVinyl The EU was never sabotaged. Brexit has driven more wage growth than inflation. This is the central issue of Brexit.
In no uncertain terms most people are better off due to Brexit. Remains and their foreign investment bank backers, were defeated, thank goodness.

I cant see Scotland voting for independence while the UK is out of the EU. The headache of the border between Scotland, England, and Northern Ireland would swing too many undecided voters towards no. All the arguments about a 2nd Scottish Independence Referendum are the same arguments being used for a 2nd Brexit referendum, even down to Ed saying that with the amount of No voters that have died if held today young people would vote Yes.
If we keep revisting referendums then what value do they hold ? We will end up in a cycle of holding a referendum every number of years until the party in charge gets the vote it wants whether that's independence, the alternative vote or EU membership.
So would you say that both Brexit and Scotland still being tethered to a failing UK ( and despite the promises made in 2014 being dragged out of the EU ) have both been a resounding success ?
