I used to enjoy this podcast much more than I do now, I was talking to a friend last week about how the ratio of politics to trying too hard to be funny is now skewed in the wrong direction. I don't know if Oli has burn out / depression, something going on we have no right to know about, but it seemed like he was being flippantly mean, to Ava especially. Of course she knows him and can judge that for herself, I found it uncomfortable. Ava has a valid, and not new, point regarding the racism of the conservative party membership and Oli more than once was too easy to mock it - and not in a silly light hearted way which was embarrassing of him. I wouldn't be surprised if Oli or Ava jumped ship soon and left Joe, Ed seems the one who still has some want to be there these days. Maybe they all need a bit of a break from the relentless content creation/ trying to juggle it all or at least Oli should think about quitting if his heart isn't in it anymore.
10 mins in and Ed taking a calming breath trying to get to the point, dear god with you on that one! Also Oli you achieved your mission of having "no one understand" 👏slow👏clap👏 🙄
Still doing the student-union approach to podcasting, eh? If an hour of childish giggles is because of audience-capture, it makes me wonder who that audience actually is. Currently at 51:00. Normally love the mix of banter & politics, Ed and Ava are generally the perfect inbetween imo, Laura and Ava's episode on grenfell was absolutely brilliant and a fantastic watch / listen. But dear god is Oli so utterly jarring in this episode, if he is to continue acting like this in further episodes, please just don't include him. The banter was fun at the start but it felt like anytime we were really getting some insight, or interesting points made he would either shoot them down or interrupt them so that they would never be fully explored. I'm surprised they uploaded this to be honest, I could feel Ava's frustration at the end, (which I think Ed had at the start) because what's the point of being there if you're not going to be able to say anything of substance? What a shameful waste of our time and yours.
I think Kemi calling Keir a socialist is quite smart politics because he is also pretending to be one. It's an easy way for her to use his shift right as a way to shift the Tories right as well. Most people aren't going to look at his policies and determine he's a centrist; they'll look at him on TV saying he's a socialist and conclude he is.

Rapidly going off listening to this podcast. 😢
Absolute car crash performance from Dugmore - returns and practically sabotages a podcast that was doing well without him. Yes you've got a nipper and a national radio gig but at the end of the day the gig is the gig and you've put off a lot of viewers with your uni humour and dickhead power moves.
Oli and Ava have a fucking nap if you're too grumpy to record. I have the same feeling watching this as when I watch Uncut Gems.
a dreadfully painful 20 minutes i will never get back
I used to enjoy this podcast much more than I do now, I was talking to a friend last week about how the ratio of politics to trying too hard to be funny is now skewed in the wrong direction.
Like viewing a parole meeting of three particularly heinous child killers. Scars have been left.
10 mins in and Ed taking a calming breath trying to get to the point, dear god with you on that one! Also Oli you achieved your mission of having "no one understand" 👏slow👏clap👏 🙄
Not gonna lie, this podcast would be an incoherent mess to normal me. However, half a bottle of gin me, for some reason likes it. So 👍
57:00 is the moment I realised that the whole of PoliticsJoe was a facade for the Reform Party with Nigel Farage as their CEO on speed dial!
This episode is killing my braincells and i have prescious few left!
40:52 Oli forcing Ava to do a Jim from The Office
I hated this. Solidarity with Ed !!
Tune in to this one for Avas worst ever take
This is a god damn fever dream
Still doing the student-union approach to podcasting, eh? If an hour of childish giggles is because of audience-capture, it makes me wonder who that audience actually is.
And some advice for Olli: remember the old maxim "be good to people on your way up, because you may meet them again on your way down"
Man i feel like i had to work to watch this, brilliant though. I felt so bad for Ed, youngest sibling energy.
christ, Ed carries this podcast and puts up with an incredibly amount of shite from olly (who was acting very weirdly here I thought).
5 minutes in and I'm already loving having the three musketeers back together 😂
I feel like they like the fact that nobody likes this and are just doing it as some kind of twisted dom move.
Barely watchable, completely annoying and frustrating, empty, pointless... And i finished it, at this point it says more about me than them 😅
Currently at 51:00.
All children, except three, grow up.
To quote Jeremy Usborne: what's so funny?
Robert Jenrick sounds evil
I think Kemi calling Keir a socialist is quite smart politics because he is also pretending to be one. It's an easy way for her to use his shift right as a way to shift the Tories right as well. Most people aren't going to look at his policies and determine he's a centrist; they'll look at him on TV saying he's a socialist and conclude he is.
