Dude, I have a correction. It's Tirta Empul not Tirta Empal. Empal is a cut of meat which oftenly used for deep fry or as a condiments for Rawon soup. But no sweat, I just pointing out the mistypes. So you make the same mistakes 😊
A mountain bike tour is a fantastic way to see local villages and farms. The guide will explain interesting info about the lifestyle and farm techniques. Usually downhill all the way, on little local roads too small for cars. We've done two different routes.
Just came here in bali ..my home town is also same like bali so much waterfalls rice fields jungle heavy rain sea at one side mountains on other sides🥰😍
Hi Joel! I'm balinese from Denpasar and coincidentally your video passed on my homepage. Your video is very helpful, when Balinese people like me are busy with work so rarely explore this island other than the city where we live. I also recently visited Ubud and of all the areas in Bali that I know, Ubud is the first place I fell in love!
Nice work. Your videos are getting better. Great that you showcase the lesser known places and activities. Great information, and it’s refreshing that you both have a respect for locals. Keep that up. Too many channels where the focus is on the vlogger and it disrespects culture. I’ve been to Indo 26 times lol, but I was a surfer. I just arrived in Thailand 2 days ago, here for one month, first visit. I think I’m going to live here in Thailand, it is amazing. Thanks to you both 👍🙏
This is a very informative, useful video. Thanks for your great work, and hope all is well with you and Emilia. Looking forward to your new adventures! Have fun back home in the (very warm) UK!
Went to Melanting waterfall. Little remote. Nice hike down, almost all steps, very clean and reclusive. We were out of breath few times while walking back up. Almost no, or just one or two, tourists while we were there. We had the place to ourselves for a long time. Entrance fee IDR20k per person. We made loads of videos and took really nice pictures.
Damn ubud looks soooo sick ❤❤ We arrive in bali for the first time in july! After 2 days we go to ubud! Looks cool, been many times in thailand, but this looks like it tops that 🎉
Hi Joel, your channel is very interesting and I am insanely hooked. I really want to visit Bali but I wanted to book the accommodations and flights myself. Firstly would you recommend me doing it myself, or do you think I should stick to the travel agents? Also I do not want to stay in one place when I am in Bali, so can you recommend places I could visit and stay for about three nights at a time. And finally how do I get started I have no idea what to do first or where to start. Please help.
I will be arriving to Bali for a 2 weeks trip on March 31, 2023 at 2:40 pm. I want to stay at Ubud my first 4 days in Bali. Are there a ways go to my hotel in Ubud downtown from Denpasar Airport? How long it takes? How much will cost? This is mu 2nd time in Bali. Last Time I was one week only at Denpasar downtown. I enjoy your video clips...
thanks Joel .. such a wonderful video .. i am booking ubud next july for my BD .. i am going solo so i will try to do asa much as i can .. how is safety and people there for a solo lady to go there > also one more question .. any recommendation for a good place for scuba diving ?? thanks in advance
Am I in for a bad time backpacking SE Asia for 6 months If I'm a bit autistic, sensitive/neurotic, and rigid? I'm going any way because I'm fearless and want to break free, but wanna know what I'm in for. Thoughts?
There’s nothing wrong with being autistic/sensitive and whatnot. The problem will arise if you can’t control being neurotic or you expect certain privileges. This is not a white country, nor is it yours. It will be respectful as long as you are too.
Maybe you can show more Bali Culture than Kopi Luwak, where the civet cat lives in the cave and Ubud Market, where you can buy cheap products with bad quality and waterfalls for instagram picture.
Hi Joel, can I please ask how do you travel long distances (1 hour +) between places with your backpacks? I noticed that there doesn't seem to be much public transport options in Bali, do you use Grab/ Gojek and are they reasonably priced?
Most of the places you are suggesting aren’t even in Ubud. I go to look for them to add to my itinerary and they’re an hour away. At least change the title of your video as it’s a bit misleading.

I have done the white water rafting in Bali years back. The guides were very good. Rapids are so so. But still quite enjoyable.

Only thing I disagree on is the coffee plantation with poor luwaks in small cages. People really need to stop supporting that.
I agree. That’s horrible. I would not support that!!!😢
So true

Go for it. I am travelling alone in Southeast Asia.
Go for it :) there are so many different people backpacking. Everyone is nice and have the same mindset of traveling. You’ll have fun I promise
Don't go alone, find travel buddies
